kingofcasting:You should be. But seriously stop quoting everything like that. I know you're trying to prove a point or something, cause they insulted you last time, but it isn't your story, plus it's annoying. |

Tradition.... As the six car entourage drove out of the compound, Shiv and her mum in the third, she suddenly felt strange. Her hands became sweaty and shaky. She only felt this way once in a while and it wasnt a good sign. Something bad was about to happen and she shuddered at the thought. Her mum kept chattering about the wedding and how the Lolo and Igwe were dying to have her married to their son and all that. 'mum?' She called 'can we..can we get out of this car?' Her mother looked at her as if she'd gone mad 'what did you say?' 'i'm not comfortable. I...could we just turn back the entourage and move alone?' 'what are you saying? Have you gone mad?' 'it seems as if there's danger lurking ahead of us. We...okay, lets stop the car and get into the last one. I dont feel comfortable in this third car' Freda frowned and regarded her daughter for a while 'stop the car Law' She reffered to the driver and he stopped the car. The ones at his back stopping immediately as well. The two cars ahead continued driving, unaware of what was happening at the back. Freda and her daughter alighted from the car 'so you say we enter the last car right?' 'yes mum' 'okay, lets go' Freda held her daughter's hand. Then they entered the last car on the entourage. And the drive continued. They got to a T-junction. They were supposed to turn left, infact the five other cars had turned left. Then Shiv's palms started again 'turn right driver' 'huh?' Her mother turned to her 'what do you mean turn right? That doesnt lead to Umuzulu' 'where does it lead to?' 'it leads to Umundu' the driver responded 'and going to Umuzulu through the Umundu route is going to take us about an hour' 'Shiv whats going on with you? You've been acting strange since we started this journey' 'mum, lets take this route, i'm not comfortable with....' Her speech was interrupted by a distant gunshot and some screams. 'what?! Where's that coming from?' Freda screamed going down for cover 'c'mon you! Drive faster, take the Umundu route right away!' More gunshots were heard from afar. Two among the five cars who had gone right were behind them driving fast. One of them overtook them and stopped. The car they were driving in also stopped. 'whats happening?' Freda panted as the windows rolled down. She couldnt come down for the life of her. 'some gunmen attacked us. They killed everyone in the third car. Law's been murdered. The two maidens in the car murdered as well. We were scared. We kept thinking you two would be dead as well' The guard informed. 'Jesus, the son of Joseph!' Shiv and her mother exchanged glances 'God has saved our lives. God's wonderful! Lets go quickly before they come after us' Freda rolled up the windows and they started the car. She kept singing praises to God. She ddint care much about the dead driver and maidens. Their families wont take much for settlement anyway *** In about two hours, they got to the village. 'Freda! You're late' She and the Lolo embraced briefly. 'very sorry. We encountered some difficulties on our way here. We were attacked by assasins' Freda slowly wiped her sweat with her embroidered handkerchief. Lolo's face became sympathetic 'i'm very sorry. Hope nothing went wrong?' 'by God's grace we arrived safely. My driver and two maids were killed anyway. But we'll settle everything after the ceremony. Right now this ceremony's the most important thing to us' 'you're very correct. Where's Shivani?' 'she's been taking to the Birth house. Till she's called upon. Has Dike arrived?' 'yes. He arrived with his wives not too long ago. He's in a meeting with his father and the ichies. The ceremony starts in thirty minutes' 'oh thank God' She let out a sigh of relief 'oh c'mon, lets go to the throneroom. I believe i'm needed there as well' 'yeah, lets go' Lolo linked arms with her friend as they walked into the palace together. *** 'what do you mean they werent in the car?!' Mia stood up from her bed immediately, a cigarette between her fingers 'what the Bleep are you saying?' 'you gave us a wrong information. She wasnt in the third car. And we only saw five cars. One car was obviously missing and that might be where she and your mother was' 'what the hell are you saying?! You didnt employ the right men for this job! You've disappointed me again Florence and i'm never gonna forgive you for this, never! Do you know what this means to me? Dike's mine! I was supposed to get married to him in place of Shiv. I already have a sample of Shiv's wedding dress. Shiv was supposed to die today and i take her place. What are you telling me now?!' She fumed throwing the cigarette away with full force. 'you gave us the wrong information Mia. We're not to blame for this' 'i'll come after you Florence. Be lest assured. You just ruined my plans!' She threw her phone against the wall and it shattered. She fell on a heap to the floor 'oh God!' TBC 10 Likes 3 Shares |
