Have you updated your wifi drivers recently? Have you deleted and reinstalled your wifi drivers? Can you test wifi connectivity through an RJ45 cable?

Pls i have an hp pavilion 10 smartouch with 2GRam with windows 8 pro.

Whenever i load a program or browser it will always show "not responding", making me to always wait for it bfor i continue working.
The only program i have on it is ms Word Firefox Chrome with some small size applications

Cost of repairing board varies from engineer to engineer. It also depends on the board involved. Try google chrome. If not I'll advice you to take it to a computer shop

Hi everyone. My system has been misbehaving lately and I will write out everything for a possible diagnosis or solution.

First it started by showing the "your pc needs to restart and we will restart it for you and the error was system thread exception not handled or something"

I gave it to a guy and he removed the hard drive and ran something while connected to his pc. It worked.

After two weeks, same thing happened. This time, I gave it to another person. He formatted the system, cleaned the ram and even installed another Windows. It worked but then I noticed some changes.

1) my laptop battery no longer stays. If I remove it from charging, it switches off. Sometimes, it stays but most times it switches off after some time.

2) Even when plugged in, it switches off occasionally and goes back to the "your pc needs to restart and we will restart it for you and the error was system thread exception not handled or something".

3) I noticed that it switches off while plugged in when it becomes very hot. Like really hot. I am suspecting that the fan is no longer working because after I leave it for a while and it cools down, it will clear the system thread exception not handled error and start automatic repair.

4) I still can't explain why my battery trips off when unplugged and I still can't explain why the system trips off and shows system thread exception not handled error.

I tried to be detailed because I need a diagnosis and solution. The engineer is resuming next week and I want to know what to suggest to him.

what is the model number
beside concerning trip off it may be ur fan is not working or u need to applied thermal paste on the processor....
concerning the battery try another battery and see the difference, probably your battery may not good again .....

Once I just connect my phone, either I'm browsing or not it will keep eating my data. Imagine 500mb gone in 10mims without downloading or even browsing. I've tried cancel automatic updates, set Internet to *metered* still d problem persist. Please kindly help me out

Turn off automatic update and you will be fine. Also turn off other applications that are using data in the background while you are connected.

Take off the battery and unplug the charger. Press and hold the power button for like 30 seconds. Plug in the charger and press the switch now to power it on. If it doesn't come on, a laptop technician is worth visiting.

Look for external CD ROM or take it to nearbye engineer to install all those apps for from any available external devices.

Please, I really need your help, I was charging my laptop, so I decide to on it in other to collect some information but after putting it on, the screen was blank and was just displaying this sign (-), I waited for some mins it's still did not come up and I decided to use the power button and it will not go off, so I had no other option but to remove the battery and immediately the system went off, so I decided to put the battery back and ON it but the system refuse to on...it's being over 5days now......please what could be the problem?

Next time you want to switch it on, use charger plugged to the mains because your battery maybe down.
Before you do the above , try pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds to discharge the motherboard.
