I have always said it that the law is made only for the poor.
Our justice system and the criminal code is highly flawed and needs urgent revision if we must move forward as a Nation.
Imagine someone who enriched himself through public office to the tune of billions of naira is discharged and acquitted because he is highly connected while the petty thieves will be sentenced without any waste of time.

this is what Nigeria is now, i am sure that same judge wouldn't come out clean if properly investigated.

Obanikoro and co were charged for millions of dollars, and the best sentence given was repayment of some of it at convenient times, meanwhile people are being killed for stealing phones. where did we loose it?

If those convicted feel the judgement is too harsh, they can appeal against the severity of the sentence.

A lot of people are saying that the judge was harsh in the judgement passed, but they have all forgotten that they are not the victim of the crime. If heavy penalty are not passed, they will graduate to become big time armed robbers like the notorious 'vampire'. 'na small thief they graduate to become big thief'
