We Have Lost Value For Human Life — Buhari by Nobody: 2:12pm On Mar 21, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday lamented the wanton killings being witnessed in parts of the country lately, saying Nigerians have lost value for human life.
He has therefore directed security and law enforcement agencies to rise to the occasion and end what he called “this blight on the image of the country.”
Buhari’s position was contained in a statement made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
“We must condemn inhuman and unnecessary shedding of human blood all over the country. We seem to have lost value for human life, which is sacred.
“Man is the glory of God’s creation and nobody has the right to unjustly and unlawfully take another person’s life in a reckless manner,” Buhari was quoted to have said.
The President also enjoined all citizens to learn to live together in peace and brotherhood and not allow little misunderstandings to degenerate into heartless acts capable of straining the bonds of nationhood.
Specifically, Buhari commiserated with the government and people of Benue State on the recent attack on a market in Zaki Biam by gunmen which resulted in the loss of lives.
While condemning the attack, the President directed agencies to begin immediate investigation with a view to bringing the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
The President sympathised with those who lost loved ones and also prayed that God will comfort the grieving families and grant the souls of the victims eternal rest.

What a hypocrite of a President. This was the same President Buhari who refused to watch video recording of the Nigerian Army shooting unarmed IPOB when he was intetrviewed on Al jazeera

This is the same President who said in his first media chat that he is waiting for a report when he was asked about the hundreds of Shia Muslims killed by the Army

If you read the whole passage you'll see where he mentioned 'unnecessary', so that of shia Muslims was necessary shedding of human blood. God please protect your children.

When you go around killing innocent Shiites and Biafrans, you automatically loose the moral authority to call out those killing.

The problem is Government is not serious with the lives of its citizens and Buhari is in charge of the government!

Rather than telling security agencies to use their dane guns to rise up to the challenge, why not do some drastic.

Is it hard to select 20,000 well paid mobile police officers to be given the best training, equipped with the best communication gadgets, covered with the best protective gear and provided with high caliber weapons to tackle key crime issues in the country?

If these officers are paid just 150,000 monthly, that would cost the government just N3 billion a month.

If they roll in teams of 4 per vehicle on 2 shifts per day, you'll require barely 2500 vehicles. And at N10 million each, that's N25 billion.

If you buy 2 helicopters per state at $2 million each, that's $140 million or N42 billion.

Buy 5 surveillance drones per state(1800 drones) at $2000 each= $3.6million or N1.1 billion.

Kit each officer with guns, bullet proofs, gadgets, etc at N500,000 per Officer, that's equal to N10billion.

What kind of crime and killing would be able to withstand this kind of force?

Everything listed here including 1 year salary for the 20,000 officers is less than 100 billion Naira. Is that too difficult to achieve in a country that had 6 trillion in budgets last year?

It's a mystery that kind of thoughts that go on in the heads of our leaders!

Buhari should spare us all these rhetorics and get back to work on fixing Nigeria...if he ever was working.

Granted, corruption and value displacement has been the bane of Nigeria's development. But not until Buhari came with the worst form of nepotistic, divisive and sectarian administration.

Sometimes you can't help but abandon the message and attack the messenger.
