There is no need deceiving innocent people to
waste their hard earned money paying for non
immigrant visas if there is no urgent reason to
travel like serious medical conditions with proves
that there is no facility to treat such ailments here
in Nigeria.
However, it is obvious that there is a STOP to
issuance of visa for Tourism, Pleasure, Visits, etc.
I challenge anyone to name one person that have
been issued visa for the above reasons within the
past two weeks with proves.
Do not waste your money!

Not at all... it's a normal item when traveling.

I will make sure nothing crazy is on the laptop though, heard of a 9ja picked up at POE because of child porn, it's a CRIMINAL OFFENCE.
Also they have the right to search your electronic device.

Except your connecting flight is part of this

Then you can't bring in laptop,ipad....

A US official told The Associated Press the ban will apply to nonstop flights to the US from 10 international airports in Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia (2), Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (2).

No be small thing o. Please I'll like to know is it now on all occasions they make someone go through secondary screening? I know that's where they ask for phones and checking of bags of I'm not wrong

My POE experience was at JFK Airport January 2016.

I came in through Emirates and the landing was a bit rough was on queue for like 20 mins before they took an arab guy in front of me for secondary questioning. I was called and this was the following conversation/interview.

CBP: Good evening can I have your passport?
Me: Good evening (While giving him my Naija passport)
CBP: Why did you come to U.S
Me: I came for a Conference in Atlanta
CBP: Oh okay .. Did you come with anything you will like to declare?
Me: No I came with just one hand luggage.
CBP: Did you come alone?
Me: No I came with 2 of my colleague
CBP: I see, I will be stamping your passport for entry into the United States Of America.
Me: Thank you

That was all.. I submitted my I-90 paper and stepped into the arrival hall of JFK Airport into the freezing night. grin

Please what's the I-90 form for?

it's a form they will give you in the plane to fill before landing in U.S you must fill your purpose of coming to U.S and also address you will be staying in U.S... I think you will have to declare if you have food or money in excess of $10000

Bro can I whatsapp you? I need to ask further questions please

Hello nefertitiram,

I and my DW have a B1/B2 US Visa. She was pregnant at the time of interview and the VO didn't ask about that so we didn't mention it. We told him we were going on vacation. Now, I want her to birth in the US and I don't want any POS issues or future visa denial due to misinterpretation or misuse of visa. She's 24 weeks now and I'm thinking we can go on vacation now and come back in 2 weeks as we stated. And then she can leave for childbirth before/on 30 weeks.

(I just hope they won't think the trip is for childbirth before its obvious she is pregnant, although I plan to pay upfront for the 2 weeks hotel bills before the trip) PLEASE ADVISE. Your urgent response will be gladly appreciated. My email is haykay15@yahoo.com just in case you need to send a PM.

Thank you.

Write the consulate where u got your visa and inform then of change of intent from mere visiting to delivery and then print the email with you and the response u got.

Make sure you have meter of responsibility from the doctor and details of any prepayment and if not have enough money for the biils and accommodation with you.

good day, with reference to the bolded. My wife would be travelling next week for childbirth purposes as stated during interview. the thing is we are changing the location we intended using based on recent increment by the hospital(houston to chicago). we already booked ticket for the flight to chicago as she would be landing at JFK first.

My question is can she say she has changed her destination of choice and say she is chicago bound knowing we used houston for the application. Thanks

The most important thing to know about your visa is the visa category.. I believe the visa you applied for is B1/B2 which means you can visit U.S for tourism, visiting and sometimes conference. I see no big deal in shelving your plans but you must have a good reason for doing that.

if I'm right your plan is to land in JFK and fly to your actual destination which is not a bad idea but you must have your ticket confirmed to your onward destination in U.S before you leave Nigeria which simply means buy your ticket for your inward travel in U.S before leaving naija they will ask for it.
You must get a letter of consent from your little cousin dad and mom before traveling with her and they must be available to receive phone call in case they called them not just in U.S but your connecting country... if possible hold a copy of the parent ID card, little cousin birth certificate and letter of consent from the parent.
If you have a good reason for not going to Texas then say it... I'm sure that shouldn't be a reason for them to return you.

Hi VO,

Am actually new here and seriously need some advice concerning my intended trip to the US. I travelled in 2013 for a conference with a 2years b1/b2 business/conference visa. Afterwards,i renewed it in 2015 through drop-box and they gave me another 2years but i did not travel due to the workload in my company at that time. My visa expired in this month of march 2017 and i decided to renew it to enable me attend this year's conference of which i have been issued another 2years visa. The issue now is that i am pregnant and am suppose to give birth after the conference. so i am planning for the conference and to stay back and deliver my baby when i travel. I have my started my medical arrangements already. payments ongoing, appointment with my genea is 4weeks before the conference. my doctor and i have been having correspondence. My question is, having issued a business/conference visa, and am traveling 4weeks before the conference to start my routine until the conference, what is the possibility of me gaining entry? am afraid hearing all manner of things that happens at the US port of entry. What are my chances? Please helppp,

SUre she can just explain at POE if asked why the change and also she must fill the information on the i-90 form.
Whatever hospital she must have correspondence from them to show too
