50something: NOC 1431 is under the 'C' category meaning they are not eligible for express entry. Your best bet is 1311. Meanwhile can't you claim 1111? That's Financial Auditors and Accountants? Or is that strictly for people in Accounting and Audit Firms? Anyways I think 1311 is ok. |

Chinnie4Jesus: Thank you so much. I considered 1111, my department performs most of the functions there, but in my unit, most of those functions, are not in my Job description. I read severally on this thread about the need to be truthful, that's why I didn't pick that. 1 Like |

But the truth is, I don't think you can go through with marrying someone because you stand to gain something, if you have an active conscience. Trust me I almost did, but liver fail me. I for say make we marry, but I just wan write IELTS, so I guess I no qualify according to you. 3 Likes |

Hello house, Please I have about 4yrs years work experience in a particular NOC. That was from year 2010 to 2014. In 2014, I travelled to Angola and lived for over a year while working as well. Presently, I'm out of job but doing an online B.Sc. My questions are: 1) Is it wise for me to state that I was working in a country where I didn't have work permit and I even overstayed my visa? 2) what if I just state that I've been self-employed and schooling? Can I claim point using my past four years experience even though its not recent and I'm not employed currently? Thanks. |

Hello people, we about to start WES verification. My husband is the principal applicant and he has a masters. Do I have to evaluate mine too? Do we get additional points if I also evaluate my degree? Thanks in anticipation |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by studyexec: 7:45pm On Mar 23, 2017 |
MrsBee: If you will be accompanying him, you definitely have to evaluate yours too. I think education of accompanying spouse gives a maximum of 10 additional points (i.e. Phd holder). You can use the CRS tool to determine the implications. |

I think its advisable to just follow the specifications I posted earlier to avoid this as that is what they will use for the PR card Fusion23: |

1) It is not wise to state that you have been working in a country illegally and even overstayed your visa duration. Do not shoot yourself in the leg. 2) You can claim the 4 years work experience since it is within the past 10 years. The question is 'after 2014, what have you been doing if not working?' Sincerely, the ball is in your court. Self-employed and schooling will gel but only if you've got proof for the school you went and probably what you studied. As per self-employed, can you prove that you own a 'registered/legal business'. Not necessary but sufficient just in case you're asked for evidence. Zutlin: |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Zutlin: 11:48pm On Mar 23, 2017 |
Gymme: Thanks for your response. I do have proof of schooling. It's an online programme which I started in 2015. I have my student ID card, admission letter, proof of exam registration and school fees payment. As for self employed, I'm considering stating that I was into baking and supply of pastries to small outlets. I actually do make pastries. However, I didn't register any company. I don't even have bank transactions to show for it. Its just a small business which I do on my own and collect cash based on what was sold or the order placed. As for the overstay, it shows on my passport and I guess I just have to apply like that and hope for the best. I asked earlier and someone on this platform told me since it's PR, overstay may not hinder. I'm just hoping the overstay doesn't make things difficult for me. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Beem4cupid: 12:06am On Mar 24, 2017 |
Overstaying a visa doesn't hinder your PR but you will have to get a police report for Angola since you stayed there for.more than 6months. For your activity while there, just specify travelling while filling your post ITA personal history, do not say you worked since you do not have work permit. You can't lie about staying more than 6months in Angola. As per work experience, you can the earlier 4 years experience if it falls in the skill O, A or B under your work history. Don't complicate matters by saying you are self employed. After ITA, just state your work history, state the period you plan to quote as 'self employed: as unemployed. There is no problem.with that. All the best. Zutlin: 1 Like |

Beem4cupid: Thanks for your response. I hear you and I'll do as you've adviced when the time comes. I'll just state that I've been unemployed and also doing a programme. I don't want any complications at all. Yes, my 4yrs work experience falls under NOC B (Administrative Officers). I'm aware I'll need PCC from Angola and I'm already trying to see how it can be done when the time comes. I'm presently waiting for WES to finish my evaluation and then sit for my IELTS. Can't wait to get into the pool. I'm grateful for the responses. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 1:58am On Mar 24, 2017 |
Zutlin:I'm with beem on this. 4yrs work experience is enough and that's what you should fill under work history n claim points for. As for personal history, the period in between when you left that job and when you started schooling, place as unemployed. The period from when you started schooling you place as educational activity. As for travel history, you also fill your entry and exit dates for Angola. The choice is yours to take a step further to now write a letter of explanation as to the events surrounding your stay in Angola...for instance, if you did apply for a work permit that was denied, etc etc etc and you feel it would help your app. If you would rather not explain that period then it's also your choice not to and take your chances. Whatever you do, please be as honest as possible. My advice is for you to start the process of obtaining an Angolan pcc now. It does not expire as long as you have left d country and would not be going there after issuance of the pcc. 3 Likes |
