London Friendlies: Super Eagles Team Spirit Impresses Okocha

Former Super Eagles captain Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha has commended the team spirit in the camp of the Super Eagles ahead of the friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso, Comple tesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Eagles face Senegal on Thursday night and Burkina Faso on Monday, both at The Hive in London.

Okocha currently in Nairobi, Kenya, for the 2017 Barclays Kenya Open Tournament where he will participate as a guest golfer tweeted his satisfaction with the camaradarie among the players after watching videos of team bonding sessions posted by John Ogu.

"Amazing team spirit guys…Isaac Success trying out @iam_davido song. Welcome indeed to the @Supereagles," Okocha said.

The videos show newcomers Success, Tyrone Ebuehi, Olanrewaju Kayode and Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee either singing or dancing in 'initiation rites' as others cheer them on.

The Eagles have been active on social media and stressing the need of their togetherness as they use both friendlies to prepare for the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Yes bc he has fallen out of favour from most pundits here. They want to see new boy Ebuehi.

The two can come in as subs.

You can't just expect them to start right away on their debut.

My preferred formation for this game

Ikeme
Ebuehi. Troost. Leon. Omeruo
Onazi. Iwobi. Ndidi
Musa/Simon. Success. Kelechi

Not likely, since this is a friendly. But, going by the players in camp, this is prolly our best eleven. I would just switch Iwobi with Musa/Simon and insert Etebo in the middle. Then once you include VicMo and Mikel the team is set.

So much potential....so much promises. This team!

Obvious reasons like 'change' right?

This friendly has further confirmed Rohr as a conservatist kind of coach.

Somebody like Siasia would throw Ebuehi and Success in right from the start.

Omo, abeg, don't take that line up by allnigerian soccer whatever as gospel o. I am sure they are just guessing, especially considering how they started Iheanacho in the midfield wink

U are getting the idea.

The idea of the friendly is to strengthen the weaker positions and to secure credible subs for the regulars and not to tear down the whole team structure.

Ambrose Vows To Help Hibernian Gain Promotion

Nigeria defender Efe Ambrose says he will do every thing within his powers to make sure Hibernian win the Scottish Championship and gain promotion back to the Scottish Premiership.

Hibernian are currently top in the Championship league table on 55 points, seven points above second placed Falkirk in the 10-team league with a handful of games left to play.

Ambrose who is on loan to Hibernian from Celtic, hopes his experience will be crucial as Hibernian push for promotion.

“Everyone wants to play in the Premiership, but I’ve watched the Championship these last two years and I’ve seen how difficult a league it is," Ambrose tells Edinburgh News.

“But for me, football is the same wherever you play, it doesn’t matter who you are playing – if you are not prepared you can be beaten by anyone.

“I’m here to do my best, to give all I can and at the same time help everyone here achieve the same goal, to get this big club back into the Premiership.

“I know it’s a big club having played against Hibs for Celtic, and by my reckoning, they are one of the best four in Scotland.

“It was great when the gaffer called me and asked if I wanted to come here. Hopefully my experience can help, but it’s not about Efe Ambrose, it’s a collective thing, something we have to do together. It is difficult to win any league but the boys have been in this one for two years now and they are desperate to win the title and promotion.

“You can also see what it means to the fans. To be getting average home gates of more than 15,000 when you’d think a third season in the Championship would see crowds falling is fantastic."

Ambrose also praises Hibernian fans for their support since he joined them.

He says: “I’ve been really happy with the welcome I’ve had from the Hibs support and the encouragement they have given me. Scottish football needs Hibs back in the top flight.”

A typical German coach.

Very conservative even in tactics and players selection. They typically prefer experience over youthful adventures.

He is try to build consistency in the team.

I mean, it isn't as if Aluko is setting the league on fire either. The dude can barely get playing time at Fulham grin

No! I no be em agent ooo. grin

Besides, Aluko has raked in more goals and assist than all our attackers.

He has scored 6 goals with 9 assist playing from the wings and he was named the player of the month.

While Victor Moses, Simon Moses, Isaac Success, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa have not ...... grin

Only Noah Joel has assisted 6 times with a goal.
