Icon4s:Yobo was running around very high up the pitch when he came on. Disu wouldn't have played 5 at the back with 12-15 minutes to go just to contain the Costa Ricans who were not that threatening. The Costa Ricans equalised 3 Minutes after Yobo came on via penalty. |

Mickael2: . Hahahaha! Na you get my eyes wey you take no say I no watch the match? How come ya report come take different from the report rating the players? So, Onazi is the one to teach the players how to control and pass the ball, ba!? How do you know what he was supposed to do when you are not among the coaching crew? Abi na you gi-am instructions? Is he the only on the pitch to make himself available for passes? You mean the Modric of Madrid that I know don't make tough tackles?!? Almost all the players struggled to settle down in the first 30 minutes of the match but you are here pinpointing only one player. It is certainly certain that you don't like the guy. 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 12:29pm On Mar 25, 2017 |
Sir Forgiveness..... we are on the same page. And yes I didn't even state that It was Kayode who got a pass from Ndidi (I think?) who beautifully sprung a pass into Nacho's path for Nacho to chase and eventually used his quick feet to draw the foul from the Senegalese gk.... This is part of why I said Kayode did great.... within the limited time he featured, I was very impressed with Kayode. He should be invited for the Cameron game. He has the ginger and energy to cause mayhem. And yes oooo.... I saw the match but from different angles.... it was really hard getting to see the whole game shaa. And Yes within the first 20-25 mins, Leon and Troost were so unsettled.... Iwobi was giving the ball away but also grew into the game with some flashes occasionally but eventually struggled to keep up with the physical pace and nature of the game. Onazi was our biggest fighter alongside Ndidi in that tumultuous period and he did hold sway until his unfortunate injury.... (heard he is back though). Onazi was not overran but he wasnt finding it easy...... He did his very best and fought like the seal that he is for us... but when Ogu entered the fray, Kouyate and Gueye and even Ndoye now had a 1.92m Man mountain to contend with alongside Ndidi (1.82m).. Onazi is only about 1.73m or so...... a workaholic but couldn't just match the aerial physical prowess of the Senegalese.... Ogu and Ndidi combined their build and heights to turn the tables on the Senegalese... Omeruo and Echiejile.... you are absolutely right.... these two added nothing to the attack... they hardly ventured forward but did their defensive duties pretty well. And yes the person you saw showing skilss and being audacious on the ball was Iheanacho.... he did flunk about two very good chances which didn't even hit the target and also wasted a few more good moves from Iwobi, Musa and Simon when those three did step up occasionally but we can take nothing from nacho... his arrogance and dare on the ball and his ability to mix it in with Koulibaly and co shows he has grown in his adaptability to the physical aspects of the game based on his slim build... it is a good thing he got the height too.... he is about 1.83m tall or so... Nacho was one of the players who still tried to make things happen but he did blow a lot of chances.... quite unusual of him as he is a known clinical finisher ..... hopes he redeems himself for the team in that aspect. Success was a Beast when he came on.... he outshined even Iheanacho himself.... only Ndidi did better for the whole team alongside John Ogu but Success was like a super force.... I pray he stays fit coz he is a sure weapon for our cameroun games. And like I said, Kayode added verve and energy to that attack.... his pass to nacho was beautiful... Success also was very influential but that was when he moved to the wings. Initially, he joined Nacho upfront playing off him kinda... or just behind him before shortly switching to the right side of attack.... So Sir Forgiveness.... we are on the same page okay.... and loollll.... who wan "bring em down"? Abeg.... my hands no follow for that one.... loolll Make I go manhandle theGoodJoe small... abi na SharpJoe now.... More karate kicks loading ..... forgiveness: |

TheSuperNerd: Why the talk of Iheanacho missing and no talk of Kayode missing a glaring chance? As for the full backs, may be the coach instructed them not to play in an adventurous manner to prevent gaps from counters. |

goldfish80: 11-10. Minutes you mean. Why make it 15 minutes when it is clearly stated Yobo came in at the 79th minute. That is a basic attack for defender change. |

Kayode have been missing glaring chances since u-17 and u-20 days.... so I wasn't much surprised.... he did great in other aspects shaa... But Nacho missing not one but two very good chances.... gotme slightly upset. Coz Truth is, He is too clinical to be missing two to three chances in a row.... and his failed pass to success in the dying minutes really got me up on my feet in shock.... Now.... you all know I Love Iheanacho and will defend him to the last... but this was so unusual of him.... anyway.. he is still our best and most lethal offensive weapon.... I am sure he recognises his faux-pas moments.... And yeah... maybe Rohr told them not to be so adventurous but Echiejile normally joins the attack sometimes... against Senegal he just stucked to home... SharpJoe: |

TheSuperNerd: You guys made it look like Kayode was so fresh and so clean. So Nacho is getting judged on a different Yardstick compared to other players. He is human. Even Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo miss glaring chances in games. |

forgiveness: I actually thought you were trying to make sense but it seems like you are just joking. Modric makes tough tackles? Maybe you should start watching Madrid matches more often. In fact, Iniesta makes more tough tackles than Modric, that should paint the picture for you. In football, it is the job of the CMF to make himself available for a simple pass because everybody else on the upside of the pitch will be marked. That's why sometimes you will see Modric run all the way from wherever he is to the DMF position to take the ball straight from the casemiro, that's what we mean by making yourself available. But Onazi was more mobile when we lost the ball than when we were with the ball, that's not a proper CMF. And I know that he was deployed as the CMF because of Ndidi's position relative to his own. Ndidi was making himself available for the two CBs but Onazi wasn't even there. I know the tough tackles that he was putting in impressed you, they impressed me too, however he failed as a CMF in that game. Everybody saw that 2 Likes |

Calm down naa Sir GoodJoe.... Kayode was making his debut for The Super Eagles. You gotta give him credit for being heavily involved for our only goal that day. Also... he put in a good shift in Hus first game within the time frame he had against Africa's stringest side on paper.... that is a plus for him. Him missing that chance shows he still has to improve his clinical awareness in front of goal coz this has Been his biggest problem since the obuh days in u-17 and u-20... Iheanacho on the other hand.... this is his 8th cap for Nigeria right? And also.... He is the EPL's most clinical finisher in history based on goals per mins ratio.... Oga GoodJoe.... more is expected from Nacho.... but I know he knows this too.... he know made various faux pas that day... and he will bounce back.... But still I just love his dare and arrogance and fearlessness on the ball.... he really took it to the Senegalese... but more is expected.... not pressurising him but just pointing out that he should do more and where he faltered.... Nacho is deadlier than Kayode.... so Nacho should bury chances that Kayode misses. SharpJoe: |

Humility017: be direct with your comments, don't try to be subtle. I didn't say Onazi was bad entirely, I said as a CMF he was bad, had it been that he was deployed to play as a DMF then he had a good 20-25 mins but then he wasn't, he was supposed to play as a CMF which he frankly didn't do justice to. Now, the point is that Onazi should only play as a DMF for us, but then that means he will be vying for the same spot with Ndidi, no prizes for guessing who should be picked |
