hello, please I need an advice. I was refused uk visitor visa last month but I recently made a reapplication because I believe the reason for my refusal is now corrected. I was refused because my proof of student enrollment will end in a month and the large sum of money in my acc has an unknown origin. Now I stated in my new application that I am employed with a monthly income of 700 euros, however this salary is not stable and I worked in two different places in the past 6month whigh I have payslip of all my earningstuff and I have a new enrollment certificate that extends till 30.9 and a letter from my institute that I will finish my studies in 2018. my question is won't be ECO be concerned since my salary is not fixed? because sometimes it goes up to 1450 euros and sometimes 600 euros or should I include a cover letter to explan. I am a student here in Germany and my residence extends tI'll 2018 |

opomulero: You don't need all these, it's a waste of time. You should rather try to gather other relevant documents that will prove a tie to your home country |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 8:09pm On Mar 26, 2017 |
collinsfbi: Thanks for the update which is true. However i doubt if home office will ever call an applicant to request for additional documentation for a visit visa. Remember for a visit visa, there is no appeal or admistrative review. The rule is to provide enough document to support your application irrespective of if it's needed or not. Since original documents are no longer submitted. The onus is on the applicant to make his case before the ECO. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by collinsfbi(m): 8:27pm On Mar 26, 2017 |
ekpotek: Am not sure either if applicant will be called to supply additional documents as stated on their requirement guide, but somehow they still accept original document if on A4 size. All docs will be scanned and returned immediately and must be on A4 size. |

sucre26: The ECO erred in his/her judgement of your application, you were judged based on the assumption that you earn #60m a months which contradicts what you filled in the form that it is per annum, base on this you can write a strong worded letter to BDHC in lagos, copying their Sheffield office and asking for a review of your case.it is obvious that you are judged wrongly....but where you might suffer a defeat is the reference to not stating the source of your income.but in the real sense of it ,it has nothing to do with them, they are just looking for a way to deny you |

Hello everyone, I've been following this thread and I must confess that I've learnt a lot thanks to Justwise and other contributors. However, I didn't come across some questions which apply to my situation and I would appreciate your inputs as I plan to apply for standard visitor's visas for my family. The main purpose of this trip is for our 3 month old baby spend some time with my wife's family in the UK as he's their first grandchild. We don't have sufficient fund for the trip in one particular account so we would like to combine all our accounts both personal and joint for the application in order to stand a better chance at obtaining the visas. Is it better to transfer all the fund into one account or leave them the way they are and explain in a covering letter? Should we both select co-sponsor in the application? For the cost of the trip and amount available for the trip, should we both input the total cost of the trip as a family in our individual applications or should I input this amount in my application while my wife inputs zero or should we divide the total amount between us and input an amount based on our account balances. I also read somewhere that our applications can be linked, please how is that done and which of the UK visa application sites allows this? Also, our salaries are never the same in any two months based on the nature of our jobs and in addition, I usually receive a big percentage of my annual salary at the beginning of the year while the rest is spread over the year. Should we take an average of our salaries for the six months we would submit our bank statement as our monthly salaries or should it be an average of our total annual salaries? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by worry357: 6:29am On Mar 27, 2017 |
dcutey: Be careful! If the visa officer sees that you are using most of your savings for one trip you will be refused. There must be a substantial amount remaining after your trip or they will suspect that you are going to stay in UK. (Ties to home.) |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by dcutey: 10:13am On Mar 27, 2017 |
worry357: Thanks for the response but we are not using most of our savings, we just have many accounts and I feel submitting all of them would reflect the true status of our finances. Please what about the other questions I asked? How should we fill the application? Thanks |

Hi Everyone, @Justwise et all I appreciate all your humanitarian services, you're indeed a source of blessings to people like me over years. Please I'm confused and I do not want to make mistake, this summer I'm thinking of taking my family to Edinburgh festival, I have 2 yrs visiting visa myself which i got last year when i went for a conference, My wife and 2 kids needs visa, my first child and my wife travelled with me in 2014 as dependants on my postgraduate student visa and my second child was born in UK during my study period. However I left UK immediately after graduation because of work and my wife was waiting for NHS appointment date for the circumcision of my son who was born in UK, they waited 2 months without results before we decided we would do it in Nigeria and they left for home after overstaying for about 60 days. At the airport in UK no form was filled and no stamps was given, SO DOES THIS ATTRACT A BAN IF THEY APPLY THIS TIME?. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by sucre26: 7:25pm On Mar 27, 2017 |
Solatium: Yes I believe the ECO just felt like denying me. I submitted a couple of evidence that shows that I have my own personal business which is doing good at the moment. I'll apply again later and I'll write a note with my application to address the error. Thanks for your input |

Good Evening All and the gurus in the house. Please what kind of evidence can i provide for family members remaining in home country while I travel to the uk. This was in the application checklist as stated below. I am single and have my parents with married siblings Kindly guide me. Thank you (evidence of family members remaining in your home country whilst you travel uk visa) |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 8:52pm On Mar 27, 2017 |
dcutey: 1.How much do you and your wife earn as salary monthly? 2. What is your budget for the trip? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 9:03pm On Mar 27, 2017 |
kkuti: This is one trip you can't afford to make, at the moment your tie to Nigeria is not strong enough because you don't have steady source of income and you have responsibilities. This trip will cost you and your family at least half a millions naira and you don't have this available in your account. Personally rather than spending all your saves to apply for visa and 'possibly' ticket to the UK invest this money in your poultry business or your wife's business for a better profit, even if your brother is ready to sponsor your lack of tie to Nigeria will be an issue. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 9:11pm On Mar 27, 2017 |
fakmurphy: No it does not, you can over stay in the UK for upto 90days without any problem but don't forget to declare this in the form when asked. Though i think that rule was changed recently but since your over stayed before the new rule comes in you will be fine. Declare it and state like you did here why you and your family overstayed. |

mjee: Your question is not clear to me |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by dcutey: 12:11am On Mar 28, 2017 |
justwise: Justwise, like I stated in my previous post our salaries vary due to the nature of our jobs. For example, none of us has received the same amount in the last six months and it's going to continue like that. I'm not really asking to be told our chances of securing visas, I'm only asking how our applications should be filled as regards the financial section considering we both don't have fixed salaries (should we just calculate the average of six month payslip we plan to submit), how our applications can be linked, whether we both can select co-sponsor since we are using funds from our many accounts. Should we also divide and allocate cost of the trip in each application based on our salaries? Our budget for the trip is about 700k i.e 550k as flight cost (qatar is $1,719.4 at N312.18/$ according to oanda) and 150k as local transport+sight seeing+miscellaneous. Accommodation and feeding will be borne by my wife's family in the UK that's why I omitted those costs. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by mjee(f): 2:50pm On Mar 28, 2017 |
justwise: Thank you for reverting @justwise. To clarify, there is a checklist you print after filing the online application and you tick as appropriate in relation to the document you are attaching to your application. One of the items in the checklist is evidence of family members remaining in home country while I travel to the uk. So my question is what kind of evidence can I provide for the above given that I am still single with no marriage certificate/children birth certificate. I only have my parents. Thank you |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 7:52pm On Mar 28, 2017 |
dcutey: I guess you don't understand why i asked that question, i'm sorry if you found it intrusive, moving on... 1..should we just calculate the average of six month payslip we plan to submit? No you present your salary as its supported by your payslips and explain the method of salary payment by your company. 2.How our applications can be linked? I don't think you can link the application forms, you have to apply separately at the same time and use the earliest appointment date to submit both applications. 3. whether we both can select co-sponsor since we are using funds from our many accounts? Yes you can 4. Should we also divide and allocate cost of the trip in each application based on our salaries? You don't have to do this since this is a family trip. Let the total cost of the trip be stated in both application forms and use the additional information page to explain that its a family trip. Spending 700k or 1M will depend on your monthly income hence my initial question |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 7:55pm On Mar 28, 2017 |
fakmurphy: I really can't get hold of the link now but i remember reading where it was stated that the number of days for overstaying has been reduced. Will paste it here when i get it. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 7:57pm On Mar 28, 2017 |
mjee: Non. If you don't have any then you don't submit. You must not submit everything on that checklist, you submit only what is applicable to you. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by mialate: 8:45pm On Mar 28, 2017 |
Good evening Great people. Am back again. I submitted my online application and stated I don't know anyone in the UK which is true. Due to the card restrictions here my hotel reservation was done with the help of colleague at work who's brother leaves in the UK while I pay her back. Please do I explain this in my supporting letter. So the ECO doesn't see a contradicting reply.Remain blessed. ekpotek: |
