Good evening mama's
My ds will be 3 months old next week. Can I start him up on some pureed foods?
If yes, what type of pureed foods can I give him and how many times a day should I give him?

I'll be returning to work soon and I'm also getting a help soon. I just want to prepare ahead

Cc Beyedew, Alphahandmaiden, onegai, Helovesme, Mizmycoli, soonest, Zaynie, all mamas
Hi dear, at three months I think it's still too early to give him pureed foods, his stomach cannot digest that dear. No matter how soft and pureed you puree the food. He hasn't gotten to the stage of eating 'food' yet. Just breastmilk and formular.
Hth.

Okay. Understood.
Thank you ma'am
zaynie:

Not age.
His needs to gain proper neck control before semi solid food can be introduced. This will start to happen at around 4-5months when he is ready to sit up.
So I'll say chill till at least 5 months but if you can't, make sure he can sit and hold his neck up before you start feeding him.
Good luck.

Ditto this^

DD was never a fan of formula.
Mum made fresh pap consisting Guinea corn, yellow corn and millet.
1 derica each.

My dear, the speed she uses to finish the pap dey make me fear.

Ah kon dey fear make she no over fat.

So basically, what we do for now is Pap......very watery. Very watery. And enough milk. No sugar. Or sugary stuff.

I may try the banana purée in her pap this weekend.

Mine is about 7 wks older tho.

DS is now being very selective. Lately he only wants breast milk so that made me worry because I began to think how he'll cope when I start work as expressing has never yielded much. I'll wait till he's 5 months

Use Sebamed soap and cream. It works like a charm. Would look for a before and after picture of my baby using it. In just 2 days there was a visible difference. Also help by reducing what would make her sweat.

But that Sebamed is expensive sha.
pls which of the sebamed lotion do you use?

I think NAN is sweeter.
When my daughter drank Similac, she didn't so much enjoy it but NAN..... She over drank sef. I tasted both, similac is creamier and richer in looks and taste, NAN is sweeter.

Just posted this on pregnancy thread.

I came across a post on "ask the pediatrician" about a mum who gave palm oil to her son who drank bleach that was poured inside table water container to induce vomiting. The boy aspirated the palm oil, his lungs was affected and he was unable to breath well. The 2 year old boy died as a result of this.

Lesson: don't put harmful substance in bottles/containers that look harmless
Keep drugs, insecticdes, kerosine, petrol and so on..... as long as they can harm if consumed far way from babies and toddlers
I would say we should be careful with the oil, make sure it goes the right way and it shd be in small quantity, Infact ATP said don't give, but rush such to the nearest hospital.

May we not have cause to mourn over our lo's in Jesus name. That post made me really sad

I am worried plz mamas. My baby of almost 4months fell down and hit her forehead on the floor. The dad was carrying her on his chest and slept off.
She cried then and stopped when I put her on breast. She has not shown sign of any kind since yeday, but I am still dead worried, hope it wont harm her in any way?

Do you remember all the milestone she reached before.
Test if she can still maintain them.
They are stronger than you think.
My son fell from a wickedly tall bed too at barely 6months old. He's fine....

Common culprit could be conjuctivitis.

She may have either picked it up at day care or if she has a cold, the viruses are very similar and quite easily transfer to the eyes..
Just keep wiping the eye with clean damp cotton wool.
It may or may not come with redness or discomfort. You can give paracetamol if she is feverish. But It should clear up in a few days.

However if it seems to be getting worse, please go see a doctor to rule out anything more sinister.

How do you cope with poops and urine?

once he clocked six mths,I started potty training.1st thing in the morning when he wakes up I give him water and put him there, within 10 min he is sure to poop,it became a routine and that takes care of the poop most times while a towel is kept aside for his pee,in fact now when he pees he runs to the corner where the towel is kept to clean his pee by himself.
If eventually baby poops on his/her pants, just run hotwater over it and everything comes off.it is well
