Three Nigerians in Germany under 20 team.. Felix, Jordan, Iyoha

Hmmm...interesting.

Has anyone noticed something about German youth teams.

If they say U20. Most or all the players will be exactly 20. If they say U23 all the players are exactly 23 or 22.

It'll be tougher getting the German prospects because they believe just being a non-playing squad member almost guarantees a trophy for you as a player. But with England, hmmm. When last did they win a tournament, 1966. Even Naija has won more recently than the English team. Even the last WC we went further than England. It can be argued abouthat the group strength, but who cares. I think Naija is on par with England in terms of player abilities, difference is just that they are more organized in their footballing structure. So it'll be easy to convince these English boys to play for us en masse. But I doubt Udokhai may make it up to senior German team. Germans have so many young defenders. Hummels can play another 8 yrs, they have Rudiger, Sulé, Mustafi, Ginter, Kimmich can play center back. These are just some fee CBs and they have many more in that same under 20 to 19 teams. It's better for these boys to just jejely come and play for us. We may not win d WC but we have the potential to appear in d Semis. Who knows what may happen from there.

Looolll.... I am sure he meant "during the time he was on the pitch for The Super Eagles"

Onazi wasn't exactly average during those 25mins. He was practically our most composed player before his injury. Even the matchday commentator agrees with this. I have watched it so have others but again we got to view things critically as to what Onazi did wrong or right... truth is... he hardly put a foot wrong... he had only one misplaced pass sef and was everywhere in that midfield. Onazi did hold his own and was indeed our brightest spark closely followed by Ndidi during those first 25mins.

So Sir Mickael2.... abeg... make we just move on... Ndidi was eventually even MOTM by far in the end.

Nicely said..... and I wonder what is up with Kelvin Akpoguma, another Nigerian Born German prospect. He is a central defender also.

WEST BROM LINKED WITH MOVE FOR NIGERIAN INTERNATIONAL

West Brom are being linked with a move for Gent forward Moses Simon after it was reported that they sent scouts to watch him as he played for Nigeria against Senegal at Barnet last week.

Moses, who usually plays on the left but is comfortable in a central role, was watched by West Brom’s Sporting and Technical Director Nicky Hammond as he played for about an hour of the friendly game at The Hive.

The 21-year-old had been a regular in the Gent side this year and has scored three goals and has four assists in 23 league appearances. He also played for Gent in the Europa League this season and West Brom apparently watched him when his side knocked Spurs out of the competition at the Round of 32 earlier this year.

Tony Pulis’ plan to bring the average age of his team down could be aided by signing the 21-year-old and if Hammond was impressed by what he saw on his recent scouting mission, there’s a good chance that the Nigerian could be at the Hawthorns next season.

Nigerian Players With Dual Nationality Aina, Akpom, Ejaria Will Not Be Forced To Represent England

England coach Gareth Southgate has insisted that he won’t force players who have dual nationality to represent the Three Lions, stating that they should be honoured to wear the England jersey without persuasion.

In the last few days, the Nigeria Football Federation have held talks with Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom, Chelsea defender Ola Aina, Sunderland’s Josh Maja and QPR starlet Eze over committing their international future to the Super Eagles, while the progress of Ovie Ejaria at Liverpool is being monitored.

And it appears the leadership of the Federation was successful in the approach, with Akpom, Aina and Eze training with the national team in London this week.

“In the end I have to focus on players who are desperate to play for England. I’m not aware those sorts of players are wanting to play for England or not really..., ” Southgate said.

“I didn’t get capped until I was 25 and I had no interest in playing for anyone else. I’m English and proud to be English and I think part of your identity as a national team has to be pride in the shirt.

“So for me the commitment has to come from the player.”
Everton’s Ross Barkley and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli were eligible to play for the Super Eagles before they became cap-tied to England.

You still don't understand me. He was everywhere in the middle doing what? Destroying!!! Not linking up play. If we were playing a box to box destroyer then Onazi ticks the box, but he was supposed to be linking up the midfield which he wasn't! That's what I was explaining since that match day, Onazi was playing as a DMF in that CMF position, you look at it and he may appear as if he was doing great because you are used to seeing him as a DMF, compare what he was doing with what Etebo was doing against Algeria and you will see
