looollll... not that straightforward.... I don't think Barca are ready "yet" to sell Sergi Roberto or have him playing second fiddle to Victor Moses.... he just sent Barca to the UCL quarters... so that deal is kinda on hold for now.

And yeah... Moses is the one keeping Aina out but Aina can still work his way through.... not by displacing Moses... but by being the first choice Backup to Moses In Conte's plans....

As time goes on... Aina may become a mainstay while Moses moves on to a much bigger club.... (coz Mehn... only few clubs big pass Chelsea ooo).

Well. however it happens... I know Aina will progress nicely and even now, Conte still gives him game time from time to time even though they come in fives, 10s and 15s of mins... smiley

ChrisKels:
Errm! With Aina in the fold now, I pray the Moses to Barca deal pulls through to allow Aina blossom at Chelsea. It is only Moses keeping him on the bench, and unless Vicmo is injured...but we can't wish him dat nah.

Rohr : New Players Eager To Compete For Shirts With Super Eagles Regulars

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, has expressed his optimism that the new players he saw in the Super Eagles training sessions in London on Monday were almost ready to break into the main team, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Some Nigerian kids who have been capped at junior cadre by England joined the Super Eagles training in London on Monday after the cancellation of the scheduled match with Burkina Faso, and Rohr said the new lads were not far away from realising their dream of playing for Nigeria.

"I was impressed with what I saw, especially the new players. It gives me the belief that we are on course to go all the way to the World Cup in Russia next year, as well as the AFCON in Cameroon in 2019. These boys are fantastic and hungry and this is good for us," Rohr remarked.

"What the emergence of these new players mean is that there will be competition for almost every position in the Eagles. The established stars know they have to work harder in order to retain their positions in the starting lineup. It is becoming very interesting, and I am happy."

The Nigeria coach however expressed his disappointment over the cancellation of the scheduled match with Burkina Faso, adding that he had planned the use that game to test some new players he had invited.

Rohr, NFF push for Everton’s Lookman

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr is pushing hard on all fronts to convince Everton wonderkid Ademola Lookman to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria .

Rohr , receiving the backing from the Nigeria Football Federation , appears to have succeeded in convincing Chelsea right - back Ola Aina and Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom to choose Nigeria ahead of England , after the England - born players took part in a closed - door friendly match between two teams formed from the Super Eagles squad in London on Monday .

The Eagles had been scheduled to play a warm - up match against Burkina Faso at the same venue in London on Monday but the encounter was called off after seven of the Stallions players could not secure visas to Britain . Nigeria battled to a 1 - 1 draw against Senegal in their first friendly clash on Thursday .
Former Gabon manager Rohr is also said to have picked up commitments from Sunderland attacker Josh Maja ( 18) , Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo ( 20), Millwall midfielder Fred Onyedinma ( 20) and Queens Park Rangers forward Eberechi Eze ( 18 ) to pledge their international futures to the country where their fathers were born.

London - born Lookman , who joined high - riding Everton from
Charlton Athletic in a deal reportedly worth £ 11 m in January, has represented England ’s Under - 19 s and Under - 20s .
But the forward , who announced himself at Everton with a brilliant goal with his second touch in the 4 - 0 hammering of Manchester City at Goodison Park on January 15 , is eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents .

Although the 19 - year - old , who is favourite to lead the line for England at the European U 21 Championships in Poland in June , has yet to decide on his senior international future, our correspondent learnt that Rohr and the NFF had exerted increasing pressure on the player to follow in the footsteps of Arsenal ’s Alex Iwobi and Chelsea ’s Victor Moses , who opted to play for the Super Eagles.

The PUNCH reported exclusively earlier in the month that Rohr failed in his attempt to persuade the Everton ’s rising star to represent Nigeria at senior level – after he allegedly penciled in the attacker for the friendly games against Senegal and Burkina Faso .

But it was learnt on Tuesday that the 63 - year - old former Bordeaux manager had redoubled his efforts to finally trap the teenager ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on June 9 , as well as the 2018 World Cup qualifying double - header against Cameroon .

Sources close the team told our correspondent that the NFF president Amaju Pinnick had decided to take advantage of the Eagles’ friendly games in London to help Rohr secure the services of English - born or English - raised players , with Lookman the number one target , for the national team .

Pinnick is said to have met with Lookman ’s representatives in England , but sources said the player has yet to make any commitment regarding playing for Nigeria .

However, It was learnt that the English FA are aware of the moves being made by Nigeria to land the player and have been trying hard to keep him for the Three Lions , after losing
Moses and Iwobi to Nigeria after representing England at youth levels .

Coach Rohr who is currently in Europe twittered on thenff handle that: “I’ll be back in Lagos next week to watch some NPFL games and see some of our home stars in action as we continue to plan ahead.”

“Our immediate focus and preparations are on the 2019 AFCON qualifiers against South Africa in June before the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in August.” .

Gernot Rohr has turned around the fortunes of the Super Eagles since his appointment as coach in August 2016, with the three-time African champs winning three competitive matches and drawing once in a friendly versus Senegal.

On the camping of the Eagles in London, Rohr had this to say: “We’ve been able to see some new players and young Nigerian talents here in the U.K. that could be part of our group in future.”

“We planned 2 international friendlies but could only play one. However, we were still able to do some work. Our 10 days of camping and training in London during this FIFA break has ended. It was a very good period for us to bond and get together again.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to give prolific young star a first-team role next season

CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte is ready to unleash Tammy Abraham on the Premier League next season.

Chelsea Starlet Tammy Abraham has been superb at Bristol City this season

The 19-year-old striker has been one of this season's biggest success stories from the Blues' now infamous loan system.
Abraham has scored a hugely impressive 22 goals in 40 appearances at Bristol City and broken into the England Under-21s set-up as well.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a host of strikers as they prepare their plans for this summer's transfer window, with Everton's Romelu Lukaku tipped to rejoin the club.

But reports from Italy claim Conte's first piece of business will be to promote Abraham to his first-team ranks.

Calciomercato claim the ex-Juventus boss has been convinced to give the youngster a chance by his 'beautiful' goals in the Championship this term.

Antonio Conte will give Tammy Abraham a chance at Chelsea next season

It is said that he will not be sent out on loan again next season and instead play a prominent role in Conte's Premier League plans.

Abraham made two top-flight appearances for Chelsea at the back end of last season, coming on as a late substitute in 1-1 draws against Liverpool and Leicester.

NIGERIA’S BEST PLAYERS ARE IN EUROPE – ROHR
 

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, has defended his decision to overlook the players who feature in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), insisting that Nigeria’s best players are base4d in Europe.

Rohr only called up FC Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, for the Eagles London camp sparking a clamour for the inclusion of more players who are based at home.

However, the experienced Franco-German coach has now passed a damning verdict on where Nigeria’s best players are based.

“Our best players are playing in Europe,” Rohr said.

“Senegal, who we played against in London had no local player. The big teams don’t have local players.”

The Eagles coach will, however, offer the home-based players a chance in the CHAN Eagles and also said he will be in Nigeria next week to watch some league matches with the hope of scouting more players for the national team.

“Next week I will be in Nigeria to see some games, I have watched some league games already, but the players there are not better than what we already have,” he said.

“The quality of the clubs could be seen from the African competitions where Wikki Tourists and FC Ifeanyi Ubah crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup, while Rangers and Rivers United exited the Champions league”.

“The local players will feature in the CHAN,. We will see them there”, Rohr emphasized.

In a related news, New Super Eagles call-up Tyronne Ebuehi may have to do more to convince the technical crew that he merits the teams’ first team shirt.

In the assessment of the Gernot Rhr and his crew, Ebuehi is a good player but not aggressive enough to mix it up in African football. **Ebuehi just needs to adapt to the physical side of African football.... that's all**

Ebuehi was part of the squad for the Eagles training camp in London after he initially turned down a chance to feature for Nigeria saying he would rather focus on his Dutch club ADO Den Haag.

“Tyronne is not a bad player, but he needs to be a bit more physical to play the games that we are destine to play especially against a team like Cameroon,” one top team official exclusively informed SCORENigeria

Ebuehi, who was born in the Netherlands, has yet to debut for Nigeria at full international level.

This season, the 21-year-old right fullback has played 20 games and scored a goal for his modest Dutch club, Ado den Haag.
