Meanwhile this is public funds, this man has no iota of decency or integrity. First he stayed in a foreign hospital for 51 good days, and now has the effrontery to say he is not obliged to disclose the amount spent.

How does a budget estimate the nature of an illness and its possible cost? His illness is certainly not the regular headache or cough, even he has admitted that he'd never been this sick in his whole life! U mean he anticipated such grave illness and budgeted enough for treatment including the return match that will soon take place for check up and continued treatment? Abeg check ds ya defence,sounds like dat of d proverbial drowning man.

Even d presidency didn't claim it had been budgeted for, they simply said they won't disclose in their usual corrupt manner so where's the accountability? In fact point out the part of the budget that covers foreign medical tourism for the President!

Simply because the Federal Government knows that the amount spent, is enough to refurbish loads of schools or even buy necessary equipments, to equip our decaying hospitals...........

If Buhari paid for his treatment with his money, it may not be mandatory that he discloses how much he spent to the public. But if the treatment was paid from government's purse, the public must be told how much money spent.

Hello guys the story has been updated but it has alot of detail about issues not related President Buhari's medical toursism. I would like to cut thode other parts out so I emailed mods. Incase they don't here's the update.


Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who disclosed these while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the FEC meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja said disclosing the cost of the President’s medical trip would undermine national security.

Cost of President’s medical trip

On cost of President’s medical trip, he said: “This matter has come several times and our position on the matter is quite straight forward. What are the President’s conditions of service? What are his entitlements in terms of his well-being and healthcare? The state is supposed to take responsibility for these.

“We believe that asking for how much has been spent on the health of the President is an issue that we should weigh very well, both for national security and for moral issues. I don’t know why we must divulge such very sensitive information
