It is no more news that the next big thing is Ibadan. However, many may not agree to this as it may have been extremely difficult finding their feet, especially in the area of job openings, in the brown roof city.

As a die hard lover of the city who have been privileged to witness its very beautiful moments, I do not think it will be an understatement to say Ibadan is just different. Both in the positives and negatives, the ancient city is different. It is the only city where you find the crude contending space with the refined if you know what I mean.

Well my purpose for this post is to help job seekers and job providers understand that 'we' are the deliverance the state needs. I can authoritatively say that there are jobs in Ibadan but unfortunately both party suffers from the same perceptive syndrome which makes them commonise the city. Hence, what do have?

The job provider says "is it not ibadan? just pay them chicken change". The serious minded ones in the bid to get value for what they are paying would go to Lagos to employ not minding the extra cost involved. As for the job seeker, he also says "this is ibadan, what better offer can i simply get?" Hm, what goes around indeed comes around. The damages that this "is it not Ibadan syndrome" cost us is far more than the good ever intended.

Believe me when I say a simple change of perception will greatly affect our attitude to so many things in the city and ultimately result in unimaginable results. It starts from you and I.

I rest my case as i believe never disapointing nairaland commenters will do justice to the rest.

Shalom
