Poor lyrics, Low quality beats, bad mix and master. Everybody is going for hit song, nobody wants to sit down and create something different and meaningful. |

91% of Nigerian music are crap yet many still dey blow...so wat do u expect. |
Re: Why Are Most Upcoming Naija Artistes Wack by Horus(m): 4:16pm On Mar 27, 2017 |
skitkid2: An artiste in Nigeria is the innocent mirror of the nation. The quality of artistes, is simply a reflection of the collective consciousness of all the people in Nigeria. If the collective consciousness in Nigeria is disintegrated and negative, and people are not behaving in accord with natural law, then most upcoming Nigerian artistes will be wack 1 Like 1 Share |

skitkid2:Bros, Dats not true. I checked ur works and was shocked becos u too need to sit down and be under mentorship and tutelage. There are so many great artist and musicians here in Nigeria. I met a lot of them in the studio work everyday 1 Like |

gmacnoms:I think you are taking it personal. I never said I am the best, I am only stating the obvious. Most upcoming Nigerian artistes I have seen, lack the ability to create unique and thoughtful lyrics. They keep recycling and saying the same thing everybody is saying, the same flows, the same words and they dont see anything wrong with it. @bold Its either you checked my old work or you dont like anything else apart from the noise you're used to Finally, I created this thread to find out other people's opinion and not attack each other. If you have a different opinion, back it up with facts |

skitkid2:Noise i'm used to? Brother, I don't even think You can comprehend the kind of songs I have listened to and scored, Both locally and internationally. When I saw ur thread, I was forced to check out what You are also dishing out, that made You criticise and generalise. I was dissppointed though, because d quality of ur works honestly doesn't give u d right to make such judgements. Btw, there are lots of good Nigeria artists out there. It just depends on what You make yourself available to, as a listener and patron |

gmacnoms: Its me @bold By mentioning that you score music and the picture on your profile, shows we are in different lanes(genre). My works will always be disappointing to you. I am not an average mediocre producer, I have mastered my genre and all I need now to compete with the elites are gears that are as great as theirs. Nigerians don't like facts and that's our problem. I didn't say every Nigerian artist is thrash, but most of them are lazy and thrash. Don't attack me, but support your claims(opinion) with facts!

Re: Why Are Most Upcoming Naija Artistes Wack by gmacnoms(m): 8:07am On Mar 28, 2017 |
Yungwithnumbers:talking about Genre. My craft makes me broad. I played in jazz, gospel, and secular gigs. And every music producer who claims to be a producer, should have strong abilities in different Genre of music. Talking about gears, a lot has been digitised, and it's ur ability that plays up. Btw, with no insults or offences intended, u r not up to an average mediocre producer. You ned to look for some1 who's work is outstanding and learn from. Believ me, Ur jobs are not up to an average mediocre's work. |
Re: Why Are Most Upcoming Naija Artistes Wack by Boywithnumbers: 11:05am On Mar 28, 2017 |
gmacnoms:Its me You are something else. I think its because of the fabfilter post @bold what are you even saying, you are just a saxophone player, what makes you think my jobs are not up to average. I have worked with artistes from different parts of the world and have never heard my work is not up to average. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYHjq1jYh5Q This is a job I did yesterday for my youtube channel, can your average Nigerian producer do something like this? https://soundcloud.com/victorlance/gold-level-prod-by-victor-lance and this is my song, everything was done by me I would like you to critic the above work with points that make them not up to average Talking about gears, you can't compare the quality of work done in a million dollar studio to that of 1million naira, The quality of the equipments matter and you dont understand that because you're not even a producer In life you will need to stand for something or die for nothing, My field is hip hop(trap music) and I can still produce jazz music, afro music, gospel etc. But hip hop is what I love and that is what I have mastered to a certain level. |

skitkid2: You're a good producer, but you confine yourself to a box. Productions sound virtually the same- same drums, chords, synths. |
Re: Why Are Most Upcoming Naija Artistes Wack by Boywithnumbers: 10:30pm On Mar 31, 2017 |
paroh137:Really? in a box? Am trying to do something very different and you think I confine myself in a box? I guess thats why I didnt see you again How does this 3 beats have the same chords, drums or synths? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dICj2sw9Hyc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYHjq1jYh5Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHvwUb4IbuE The only thing they have in common is that the three of them are trap beats (and that is what my channel is focused on for now) Once its not afro beat, naija guys will always find fault in them. Its time we give other genres a chance in Naija! |
