Another brace for Onyekuru..

Let Arsene Wenger STAND like STANDing fan and LOOKing like Lucozade until another club snaps Onyekuru. He already missed Ndidi. Etebo and Onyekuru are there for the taking.

STINGY COACH.

Savior Godwin played 72 minutes against Eupen.

Onyekuru rescued his team from a 2:0 deficit with two goals.

You think so. I thought there was a number of games a player can play in a European club to qualify for a work permit. Is Onyekuru not close to that?

All those are excuses.

Those boys were not matured both physically and mental for that stage.

Was it NFF that invited rain makers to Surulere that day?

Talking abt allowances are they the only Nigerian team that has ever suffered such?

Bc u are being owed allowance Sudan will beat u 4-3 in ur back yard. The same Sudan that teams were using as punching bags at AYC. If Sudan had gone ahead to qualify for the WYC now i would say ok they met a tough team.

I can say I have never heard of a team that went through what Amunike's boys faced during camp. Not paid allowances from before the U17 qualifiers, to the qualifiers and then the tournament they won.

Then no allowances in their U20 Camp which comprised of most of the U17 winning team.

Why carry them to Teslim Balogun stadium instead of Calabar or Port Harcourt in such an important game? We failed Amunike and his boys.

Yes, when you treat a team badly for so long, they will lose motivation. Owe Barcelona players for one month and let us see the motivation to play.

That was one match, any team can lose on any given day. Remember we beat them in Sudan.

I do not think it is a wrong move cause of the league. Maybe the club. A young boy will opt for an opportunity in Europe over staying in Nigeria. I bet many that stayed back are in worse situation.

Also, the likes of Awoniyi who was book smart did not end up with a brilliant choice. What of Chidi Nwakali too. It is difficult to ascertain when you are a young Nigerian kid. It takes the grace of God.
yeah..there is wisdom in all you wrote
but awoniyi own is not about making the wrong move..
he has gotten opportunities many never dream to get..it is just a case of him not living up to expectations

We are talking about two totally different players. On a lighter note Anichebe does not have to be mobile he will simply move you out the way, this guy is a bulldozer.

In a straight line he is probably faster than KC and he runs with power, he cannot be knocked off the ball. Add to that he can run behind the defence or dismantle it from the front in the air. He is simply a defenders worst nightmare.
Yea Anichebe against David Luiz but d guy and injury is something else.

Why look at kids in school system when we have a more accurate measure using the MRI? Our open camp system in different parts of the Nation yielded impressive results. Coupled with the MRI screening to come up with a core U17 makes a fantastic model. No need changing it. We can maintain the model and continue our fight to beef our educational system.
Of course we have used the MRI to our advantage. I brought up the school system as a cheaper alternative to MRI also with my posts I tried to bring to life the fact that we have a documented system in place to check age cheating. We actually have records of birth and death rate in the country. The fact that we have over the years used sharp practices to usurp this system does not mean these tools are totally absent. That is my stand.

The problem is, Arsene Wenger is not ready to fix the team with the right players. It must not cost a lot to build a strong team but right quality of young players.

I just want football to remain a window for lots of hopeless kids that are brilliant with the ball. Closing the door on kids due to literacy level defeats this.

I prefer a no kid left behind policy. Find the most talented and Discipline within the U17 bracket.
You have to wake up and smell the coffee. Not every talented kid in the street will end up playing for Nigeria. Everybody cannot meet the standard. That's the gospel truth.

My notion is simple. We can not shut the door on kids like Yahaya and Ramon Azeez because of their literacy level when they were young teens. These are special players. If they have the dedication and talent, they deserve their chances.

Kids are unpredictable. A kid can be great at 17 but fail to improve.

Because these other coaches go for players they believe will fit their system at all cost. Than Wenger who will tell you no quality in the market.

For Bleep Sake. Where was Wenger when Simeone secured Carasco who was brilliant against Arsenal playing for Monaco.

Dedication and talent is not just enough sometimes. Lack of basic education could be a major hindrance to their careers. An illiterate boy from Africa is unsellable. Football is more than just kicking the ball around.
You have to sign contracts, engage the media, fans and your team mates. How do you expect addidas and Nike to sign up an illiterate to represent them.
Kids must be made to understand football cannot be divorced from education. That is the hard truth.

I doubt Simeone, Ancelotti and others would sign Eduardo and leave Modric at Zagreb. Who does that. He would have gotten Modric cheap then.

Wenger is not a check book manager and he's paying for it since Roman Abramovich changed the game and check book managers cherry picked talents and inflated the market. Wenger loves to promote from within and he's very loyal to his players.
He would rather promote Chuba Akpom next season than purchase Onyekuru.

Tell that to Yahaya. How many footballers all over the country were as Brilliant as him at that age. U17 is dedication and talent. Dropping them in Europe will see their orientation change. Salvage the best and most dedicated talents.

Just as kids like Neymar and Ronaldinho who could not speak French or Spanish signed deals with clubs in Europe. There is a term called Representation.

That is why I call Arsene Wenger a Standing Fan and Lucozade coach. Ndidi cost less then $20 million and he still wants it cheaper.

Oh please. Eduardo at the time was the highest goal scorer in Europe then at Zagreb. He scored about 35 goals in a season at the time. Eduardo was a fine talent who got kicked out of the game by the Birmingham defender.
At the time, Wenger had other priorities than a midfielder where he was already stocked with Fabregas. Rosiscky, Hleb. He needed a striker to pair up with Adebayor not another midfielder.
