I no gree oo. I am not one of those MOG , MOG worshiping people but a few things to note are :
1) The Pastor is first and foremost a human, he has blood in his veins like all of us.

2) The Pastor has people around him who love him. The affect of the allegation could just as be affecting them now

3) Calling a Pastor a fraud (whether true or false ) is one of the biggest harm/offence one can commit against them. That is what she did

4) Correct me if I am wrong, but I am yet to read of an apology from this lady. Forgiveness without apology? Haba!

5) There are many Nigerians who were victims of this lady who did not have the means to fight back.

6) Finally, knowing Nigerians, if the Pastor did not do the needful, a large percentage of our country men would believe her. Remember Suleiman(sp?)and Otobo?

Hypocrisy is asking a Pastor not to employe available legal option to enforce his rights because he is a PASTOR!

Hypocrisy 'Hypercrisy' is when a lady claims 'equal rights' when it comes to matters of wages of men and women but 'weaker sex' when it comes 2 doing d job!

If, as u affirm, a pastor has d right to apply legal means 2 enforce his right as a terrestrial being like any one of us 'laymen', then what's d difference between us? He should as well pay tax to show DT he's a bona fide citizen of Nigeria!

You wrote all this epistle but could not even state what the law specifies as the punishment for anyone who defames the character of another and the process of redress for the victim of defamation. Is defamation of character a criminal offence or a civil matter? Presently, Dr. Peter Odili is in court in that same Rivers State with Dr. Dakuku Peterside, whom he alleges defamed his character. Was Dakuku ever arrested talk less of being taken to court in prison uniform and chained? Admittedly, most of us do not like this woman but must we condone a blatant abuse of the law because of the personalities involved? Who knows who it could be tomorrow?
Lolz.....these ones? They are double-mouthed 'multi-mouthed'

Its all about d personalities involved. Tomorrow, when the tables are turned, ds same sets of ppl will sing another love song!

By now, u must've known DT d leaning of most aren't usually logical. To them, communal alliance overides any form of logic!

This repugnant approach, employed by a 'layman' would've bn condemnable how much more a ' man of god'.

This course of action applied by Mister Ibiyeome surely does d Gospel of The Cross more harm dn good!

Re: Kemi Olunloyo: We Should Stop Using Religion As Excuse For Character Defamation by Egalitarian1: 7:31pm On Apr 03, 2017
She should be prosecuted in tandem with the stipulations of our constitution for defaming one's character. Whether the character defamed is a pastor, priest or an imam is absolutely inconsequential. Even in the ten commandments, God is against one bearing a false witness to another. So, jail her if she is found culpable because that is egalitarianism and that is where I belong!

Then safe to say Churches and Pastors should start paying tax.

You can not enjoy privileges under religion and when it comes to acting what you preach we say it is two consenting adults sleeping with one another or fighting.

Who told you pastors don't pay tax? grin

If we all are agreeing that pastors are also human and should protect themselves in certain cases, so what makes it too difficult not to believe that the accusation/s against might possibly be true or are they also above satisfying some carnal urge?

Re: Kemi Olunloyo: We Should Stop Using Religion As Excuse For Character Defamation by ziga: 9:14pm On Apr 03, 2017
It is not defamation if what you are saying is truthful or there is a basis for your accusation!!!

If however, your statements are not truthful with intent to malign another individual, then that is defamation.

Everybody always believes or claims that anything negative said against them is defamation.

Case study will be all the political and religious arguments on Nairaland. Who is right and who is wrong.

Unfortunately, Religious and Political leaders are never wrong depending on what camp you are on (at least for most people I have seen on Nairaland) This puts Nigerian citizens in a position that could potentially violate their freedom of speech. A very bad thing considering our "Eh sir, Yes sir" culture.

Bottom line is that the courts should be the ones to determine what is defamation AFTER listening to both sides of the story (Court hearing)

But why is this woman in Jail, even before she has been defended and found guilty by a Nigerian (NOT religious) court?

You have called him names forgetting he could be your father. You have a father right? You shall grow old, you shall reap. Words are seeds, they will ripe at the appropriate time and you enjoy them. Try not to forget your insults on people old enough to be your grand Dads.

And, don't forget that this man has a family and that this defamation can destroy his family. We are so hung up on,"He is a man of God". Yes he is, but is a man first, and like the Op said, a citizen with rights.

Why is there no one saying anything against the woman? Are her activities right?

Lets not forget that the hand of the clock rotates.

All of a sudden, Christ has become a Character we should emulate, he is no longer a myth. lol

She has committed a crime, let her face the law. At least the Pastor didn't gather all his Challengers Squad members to lay curses on her, that would have been worst.

I stopped reading at the point were the op said the said pastor is first a Nigerian. I personally think it's wrong. every Christian ought to see himself first as a Christian before considering his nationality. yes! the blogger woman went beyond her boundaries by miles but the question is, 'what would Jesus have done if it were Him in the pastor's place?'.....this ought to form the basis upon which a Christian should take decisions in critical matters as this. this is my personal opinion though.
Pls answer this sincerely, WHAT DID JESUS DO WHEN HE FOUND OFFENDERS IN THE TEMPLE?.

Jehovah forgave David for taking Uriah's wife. But He also assured David that he was gonna pay for the sin.
That repayment came through Absolam, David's son rising against him and wanting to take the kingdom by force. Absolam died in the process.
That was the payment God spoke of.
This pastor could be praying for her soul while she is locked up, but the truth is that sometimes, we just have to suffer to learn.
