First, the idea of using a friend in disguise of making personal inquiries is so stale. Secondly, I think you wanting to go for internship in the US is a big task to defend at the embassy, but what do I know?? Wait till the gurus come in to assist you Lol

Well, that your opinion, its not me its a friend though way younger than i am.

He is presently in school, Just concluded his Pre Mb exams in LUTH, and he told me that they could do internship in the US when they get to 500L and that is like 2 years away, Just felt i could ask here because i believe someone must have gone through these phase or have the information that he might require.

Its not a bad thing to want to go to the US for internship, its something i should be proud about but then sorry to disappoint you it not me.

What do you meet by internship? To the best of my knowledge, dentists usually do House job and I believe you can only do it in Nigeria. Moreover, Its not really worth going abroad to do such. The likelihood of that is tending towards impossible.

You guys should chill biko... there are opportunities out there for international dental student . .. some opportunity exist, it left for you to investigate and explore it

Although i dont know the processs because an internship means you will treat patients which my guess is that you need a license to practise to be able to see a patient or else lawsuit will start flying left and right . ....

what first came to mind is more of a student exchange program than internship . However there are programs out there when i checked google so they must be a way they link the international student to a program that allows them do internship .....

So guys, wat u are simply saying is that the SOA sent to the school will be use in preparing your i20 and i20 will indicate your sponsor which should be consistent with the SOA to be taken for Visa interview.

No I don't.. I've tried asking the school to send it directly to me but they said its not guaranteed and may take 4 to 6 weeks. but I can send it to someone in USA at a cheaper rate depending on the location and also have the person forward it to me.. that's my best option right now. thanks for your suggestion

@temi4fash I thing what your friend is talking about is electives and not internship. You can do electives abroad but you'll hav to prepare well and apply on time.
