Hi everyone,

For estimation of my fees in us dollars, what should I use? N360 or N315?

Help a bro.

@temi4fash I thing what your friend is talking about is electives and not internship. You can do electives abroad but you'll hav to prepare well and apply on time.

Electives as in two or 3 course in the U.S..

How can he go about it??

imperiouxx:

How I believe this is almost impossible is that in U.S they believe their healthcare system is complicated and different and so license is required to practice. This me do ans that for any trained healthcare professional to be able to touch any patient, you must have some kind of license or approval in the state you want to practice. Internship I don't think comes with any license. I guess your brother wanted to say residency or he's talking about internship in something else. Clarify from him. Best

Hello Boss,

What about the residency or House Job can he do it in the U.S

How easy is it to get a spot and the basic things he needs to do?

You need a license to practise so the above is difficult .....

i have seen many nigeria graduate dental students in the USA but what they do is go back to a USA dental program for 2.5years or the last 2 years and after the program they graduate with the regular usa dental student . That is the easier way for a Nigeria dental student to enter the US system and work as a denstist

It is expensive as dental school is not cheap but there are several that have gone through this path

I dont know much about funding for that level of dental school but there are students loans which people use but you need a US citizen to co sign

Hello Boss,

I get what he was saying now. Department of dentistry called it a 1 year pre-residency internship such as those offer here

http://dental.tufts.edu/academics/oral-and-maxillofacial-surgery/pre-doctoral-clinical-externship/
https://www.bu.edu/dental/academics/departments/omfs/education/internship/

I don't know if this kind of program was designed with foreign trained in mind but they're accepted into residency program:

https://internationaldentistcentral.com/how-a-foreign-trained-dentist-is-licensed-to-practice-in-the-united-states/
http://www.jdentaled.org/content/78/11/1489.full

I have this studentdoctor forum that I use for myself. https://forums.studentdoctor.net/ He can check the dental forum and post his questions there.... If he wants to help his career, he has to be able to research by himself. Best!

About how easy to get a spot, as you know, residency is for selected few each year. He needs to have a good credential and has to be on top of his game. He should compare his credential with others here https://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/international-dentists-in-residency-programs.562446/

With HND why are you not going for masters instead of starting over ...... and then with a wife for bsc. Might seem like a red flag

invaluable advice:
Get your ND plus HND and evaluate via WES or ECE.
sit for GRE and TOEFL
Apply for a Masters and you are good to go.

Pls, if you were asked to send your bank statement for admission to a school in the US, and (of course) your account balance is in naira, what is the exchange rate you would use?
BANK STATEMENT O, not sch fees.

Just send your bank statement in naira. Don't worry about the exchange rate. They have their way of checking it
