I have read about someone @ 3pages back who applied to school in Mexico but need new i-20 because of change of sponsor. My own question now is that does it apply to US i-20 also? Because my plan is to use my aunt's SOA for admission and obtaining of i-20, then use my dad's for embassy interview. Would my aunt's name be written on the i-20 as sponsor? cc fredoricko LagosismyHome omoluabiguy Teedawg |

YorubaNigga:New Mexico is a state in the US, not Mexico. Some schools write the name of your sponsor on your i-20 while others don't. 2 Likes |

YorubaNigga:. well it depends my i-20 didn't have a sponsors name I wasn't even asked who my sponsor is probably maybe they saw that it has the same house address with mine so they'll assume it was family but they was no indication of sponsors name on mine. ask the school if they reflect the name of sponsors on the i-20 if you wanna be anonymous use another email prolly a friends to ask ..in case you feel they might start thinking something..don't just ask straight forward ohh you can even use your email and be like you just wana if they're indicate the name of your sponsor on i-20 so you can easily print two statements now and keep one for the interview.. that is if you haven't send it.but if you have then reverse engineering the statement. .by the way why do you wanna use aunts for school and dads for embassy? why not just use one 1 Like |

YorubaNigga: I cannot predict what the school will put on the i20 but yes i have seen aunty and father before. So the key is whatever it is (if any) then it must be consistent 1 Like |

neurosci:just send them like that and identify who they are too you If the school has a financial certificate form for you too fill have them both fill it separately forget about currency just do your own calculation here and make sure its up to theirs then send it..they'll convert it themselves |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by neurosci: 9:43pm On Apr 04, 2017 |
Teedawg: Thanks. But the actual reason why I am asking is in order to know if what I am having here is sufficient. If I calculate it using the interbank exchange rate, it will be sufficient. But if I use the parallel market exchange rate, it won't be sufficient. And I'm being careful not to send it to them yet, because if the use the parallel market, then my admission will be denied due to insufficient funds. So, I need to know the rate to use in calculating it. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by Teedawg: 9:51pm On Apr 04, 2017 |
neurosci:they don't use parallel as it's not the official rate they use what you see when you use Google to convert am sure they use google to the interbank rate is the exchange rate..u can also let them understand the exchange rates fluctuate so that they'll able to use the exchange rate of the day it was printed or sent if you want cod you Neva know |

neurosci: So I was checking the US embassy website trying to check some procedures and found an exchange rate written in red color (probably for visa fee payment I guess) for 340/$. As for the schools, they can't use more than the bank rate (Form A rate) as the rate that would be used to pay tuition and form A rate as at today is 360/$ 1 Like |

YorubaNigga: Some schools would put your sponsor details on I-20 and some won't, but either way, I'll suggest you stay consistent on both sides (school statement and embassy statement) even if your sponspor isn't written on the I-20 1 Like |

omoluabiguy: How will each school in the US know the rate used in form A or what form A is in the first place.... remember there are loads of other international students Most schools i have seen just type on google to get what the rate is or used sites like oanda or xe or the many other currency exchange sites It is best to ask the school directly what rate they used or where they get it from |

YorubaNigga: If you're gonna use your aunt's SOA as proof of funds to get your i20, then by all means do same for the interview. If your dad's SOA can cover the cost as stated on the i20, then preferably I'd ask you to use it for both. Don't complicate things for yourself okay? Try as much as possible to be consistent. It's why we're advised to always tell the truth because there is only one version of it. Don't fret, you've come this far. |

Breamz: You shouldn't rush over the DS160. It's one of the most important forms. You should take your time and fill it appropriately. Also remember the details you fill in because on that day the VO will have access to it and will ask you questions. How come you've got an appointment date and still filling the form. Hope the DS160 number matches that on the appointment confirmation slip? Success! |
