What advice did you give to ehmmm.... your friend? Something tells me your friend is allergic to work.... unemployed people will grab the first job....and will always be looking for a side hustle. Tell the lazy bum your friend we,advise him to grab the work..... and not to worry when he sees his skin leaking water... it's called sweat..

@op The answer to your question is quite simple, even if the pay was lesser it is still advisable your friend takes it provided he has no other option. Let me also say this, at times we graduates particularly the brilliant ones who spent their time while in school to get deserved grades and learn every available theories, we always seem to believe as soon as we are done with NYSC we should get the big break gbam! The truth is it's not always like that ; you need to start somewhere.
Myself for example I was ready to take any job that will provide me the much needed experience even for a low pay.I got something a little higher than this said 60k for my first salary even when I spend 1k daily including fare and feeding (mainland to island daily) I was really not bothered , was going about my work happily only to get 6figures salary at confirmation at d end of the first 6months. With leave allowance, health insurance. It was then I realized the organization was just testing to see if I was ready to work or just making mouth during interviews ( yeah, I too make mouth say I fit do anything anything ) Today I still thank God for taking the job instead of complaining that my mates get six figures why can't I get same

So u see at times that first salary doesn't really.

I guess your friend is unaware there are graduates who graduated between 5 to 15 years who have never seen such opportunity and there are millions of graduates earning less with family to support. Your friend better grab the job else more than 10 million are ready to take his place instantly. Better job ahead or promotion ahead for him. Stay blessed.

I know people that we graduated together some are earning 18,25,26 and so on and i also know someone whose first job is a 150,000. My opinion is he should take it but not to become too relaxed on the job keep your eyes out for better jobs and if possible try another stream of income like selling wristwatch,clothings to your colleage or a private tutor during the weekend.May God help us all

well i know someone who chose unemployment, after being offered a 60K job, under the guise of going a MSc programme!

Even if he spends 1k everyday, he'll still be able to save 10 or 20k monthly. He just needs to discipline himself. The only thing to spend money on is food, transport and some not too expensive clothes to wear to work.. with time, he'll get a better job and have a good story to tell.

Since we are talk about our friends, my friend too graduated in 2012 and got a job of 35k as a quality control officer with a local pure water factory....now he's a research a development supervisor with unilever earning 570,000...

Look dude, some pple will start very strong..like my nephew that just got a job with access bank after NYSC..his salary is like 200k plus a brand new kia rio...some will start pretty rough...I've seen pple with salary like 12k per month..and they are doing very great now. All of us of go jam for up ...na that one sure pass... take ur 60k job, some day u'll look back and smile....u are gonna get there..no fear

N500 X 30 days = N15,000

So he still has N45,000 left.

Not enough left for any fancy accommodation. So he may have to squat with family/friends (I'm sure they'll understand.)

As you can see from this thread, a LOT of people are getting by on much less. Your friend just needs to understand that he'll need to tighten his belt and live within his budget.

So make e no start to dey envy E-Money's crib at this stage of his life.

I work 4x per week, earn #40000 and my daily tfare is #1000.... Food no join o.. Just transport alone.
