I hope that in reality, you know what 'low self-esteem' is and how it presents itself in an individual. Being patronizing, or courteous and seeking validation are very different things. A person with low self-esteem, who gets consistently dismissed and not taken seriously like Debie has been, would crawl under a rock and never come out.
