Look at these guys, somewhat feeling like bosses over jamb questions. If you notice, this thread has a lot of views with less people commenting. not because they are naive to the questions or they don't know the answers. Aren't oau putme questions way technical than this?, people dust them without a flamboyant pre_show of brilliance. Make this thread more of interactive and teaching as well. Peace 1 Like |

Another.... When a simple harmonic wave is propagated through a medium, the displacement of a particle (in cm) at any instant of time is given by y = 10 sin 2π /100 (3600 t – 20) Calculate, the amplitude of vibrating particle, wave velocity, wavelength, frequency and time period. Please simplify and snapshot! |

Donpre:This forms the basis of any progressive wave equation Asin2π/√(vt-x) From here you can derive anything the question demands.

Donpre: I cant take d snapshot so i'll represent wavelength with Q and pi with M Compare y=10 sin 2M/100 (3600t-20) y=A sin 2M/Q (Vt-x) So Amplitude,A=10 Velocity,V=3600 Wavelength,Q=100 Frequency=V/Q =3600/100 =36hz Period,t=1/f =1/36 =0.027 secs 2 Likes |

Donpre: What i can remember, stand to be corrected speed of sound is directly proportional to square root of temperature. Therefore the velocity of sound increases with temperature. Velocity is also directly proportional to wavelength in V=F x wavelength. So the wavelength increases, option A. |
