maclatunji: I am trying hard to find the benefit of the project to the vast majority of Ondo State people This is not going to be a federal road. So I will construct a road for minority of my people and leave the majority out? So building a bridge from the boundary area of Ondo State to Lagos is better than building roads to connect the other extreme end of the state? Why must everyone even come to Lagos Why can people not develop their internal economies to make them more self sufficient 4 Likes |

Why can't he first focus on maintaining the bad roads within Ondo state, and try improving on infrastructure and basic health amenities. Constructing a road to join Lagos when there are already existing alternatives is a waste of resources. Grow your state before linking to others and courting the applause of the crowd 2 Likes |

only time will tell, i hope he's aware of the financial implication of such projects, let him ask ibb how easy it was constructing the 3rd mainland briɗge which is obviously a federal government project less than 50km. Yes anything thing is possible but not this sets of politicians can achieve such |

smizel:It must pass through Ogun state. You can't get to Lagos via land transport without contact with Ogun state. As long as you ain't routing through Benin republic, it's not possible |

Who cares about roads when Akoko hasn't had light for over a year now? okitipupa hasn't seen light in years. Nigerian leaders are evil. Many businesses has been killed as a result of this power outage, yet this governor wants to build a road when there are already existing alternatives. What other alternatives exist asides electricity besides generators? smh! 2 Likes |

Isaac10: There is absolutely nothing wasteful about it, if the project is actually executed properly. Lagos is the gateway for all of Nigeria's exports and imports, and the key to economic success is through export-oriented growth; without that growth, how do you expect the state to fund all the amenities you say you desire, through the same old dependence on federal allocations? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Elxandre:And what exactly is Akeredolu supposed to do about electricity, when it falls under the jurisdiction of the private GENCOs/DISCOs and the federal government? You might as well ask why he isn't curing cancer, that's how irrelevant your complaint is. Try understanding how your government actually works before making complaints about it. 1 Like |

The road is expected to connect Araromi Seaside in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State with Akodo in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos... Take note of the bolded in the text, you have to consider the terrain before making funny comments. The start point of the project and end point are both riverine/seaside. It takes a longer time to construct roads on water or Niger delta generally than on plain surface land. And don't forget Ondo State has the largest/longest coastal line in Nigeria, so there might be a kind of boundary between the two states.
