Hello guys I need your advise expecially from those who re experience mechanical engineer. I Travelled for 2weeks and my car was left unused through out the whole time. I came back last night and this morning I check every necessary stuff and drove it to Ikeja with Ac on. I got to where I was going I noticed the car engine was very hot but I ignore it and off d ignition but forgot to put d gear in park and the ignition was on standby and not totally off. 10minutes later when I came back to the car I saw the radiator water on d ground and the car temperature was very high.i allowed it to get cold and took it to my rewire but he is saying that he will run a relay but he will not remove the thermostats . I told him the car fan works with atmospheric condition and that the fan need not run all the time but I notice that one of the fan only comes on when ever I on my Ac. I have my doubts about what he is proposing but people around are saying it will not affect my engine rather it will allow the fan to work when ever the ignition is on. Pls I need your advise or could the rewire be right?

Seems your kazeem has more brain than Toyota engineer that spent millions of dollars in r&d to design your cooling system in such a way that the fan doesn't come on ignition on.
You better flee from that clown that want to send you back to the village .If you cooling system has issue ,patronise a professional that know his onion to investigate the root of the overheating .Overheating is simply a symptom of a issue ,dig out and resolve the issue and the overheating will go away .
If you need the service of a professional and you are in Lagos ,contact autologic @ 08061166316

What was the position of your temperature guage needle?
Coolant temperature goes as high as 95°c while in operation.
Your concern should be how the coolant got out of the cooling system...
If through radiator cap ensure its properly closed before the next time car is driven.
If leak: trace the leak source and replace faulty member.

The temp seems okay with what you posted.try and check if the two fans are working when ac is on.its like one of your fan is gone.pls pls and pls dont remove termstat or by pass fan.cheers

That temperature is OK but Since u has observed that the coolant level is reducing then there is a leak in your cooling system .You need to bother about about this as your car will eventually overheat if you idling the car for long period as reduction in pressure in the cooling system will reduce the coolant boiling point .go for cooling system pressure test to locate the source of leak and resolve the issue permanently.

Check your radiator cap first...

Yes I check and discover one of the fan is not working at all and I took it to the rewire and he told me he has change it but when I check it again the same fan is not working. What could be wrong

If the car had been left running for a considerable length of time, say 30 minutes the the temperature level is good. Check the place you saw leaks again to see if it still leaked today.
Check the radiator reservoir as well, it shouldn't be full, it has maximum point which coolant shouldn't exceed when at room temperature.
About the fans. One fan is cooling fan for engine while the other is condenser fan. Therefore both fans will work only when the AC is on and one fan will work when engine temperature rises.
If you are in Lagos contact me and I'll help you check it out free of charge tomorrow.

At what condition is the fan not working?? cos the only two condition the two fan will work are
1.AC On
2.Engine temperature is above 95 c.
Camry big daddy fans takes control from thermo switch .So check for this switch and check the fan wire for open circuit

Yea it's the switched that was not well connected but now it's working but the temperature is still at the above display picture level. How can I make it come down

your car optimum temperature is around 89-95c and your car is designed to quickly reach this temperature and stay within this limit cos it is at that temperature(close loop ) your car achieve the best fuel mileage and performance and any attempt to reduce it will spell doom for your engine .
That temperature I am seeing is OK (half way mark ).
But if you suspect you have a leak ,go for diagnosis and dont allow any kazeem try to abuse the car by suppressing the heat

Yes I am in Lagos but how can I reach you since you say you want to help me check it out tomorrow cos am not convince with the job done by the rewire. Now I notice both fan run immediately I start the engine even without using Ac. More so the fan he replace is not exactly like what he remove and the engine now makes noise when on which is unusual for the car. I have ask him but the explanation he is given me am not OK with it. The temperature still as the same with the display picture but am worried. Pls am in Lagos let me have your contact so we can talk

Most people are not answering you in a very simple understanding way
Let me

Break it down for you
1 the picture of the temperature gauge!!! thats were your temperature should be half way mark, below that it mean your engine is running cold which means it will eat more fuel as it designed to reach the half way mark becoz thats were your engine would more fuel effiecent
2 you got two fans 1 is for Ac and one for the engine coolant, the one for AC will come on when you turn on AC that fan cools AC gas, the second one is for the engine coolant, only come on only when the engine temperature goes above 85 degrees (manufuctures set different ranges between 85 &99 ) so if your temperature gauge goes beyond half way mark thats when the engine fans kick in. This depends if the previous owner didnt temper with original car set up (most nigerian they connect direct)

So to simply test if the engine fan is still working via thermostat etc drive the car untill it temperature reach halfway which is normal and not its overheating, then park the car dont switch the engine let idle, within 5-10mins your engine fan should kick in, that would be a sign to say the fan is fine and working as normal
If it doesnt kick in 1st let it run for more minutes but it shouldnt be more than 25mins without kicking in/running
