Well.... like I have always said.... we cannot get everyone... and not all can even play for us. The NFF and Coach Rohr did their best. So let it be known it was he who said No to us. We wish Lookman the best. He has a bright future in the game. He has made his choice......
Note: I also saw this story carried by ESPN..... well... that is it shaa....

Everton Ademola Lookman Tells Gernot Rohr – I Want To Play For England Not Nigeria

Nigeria have been dealt a serious blow in their quest to lure Everton rising star Ademola Lookman to switch allegiance to the senior national team of Nigeria.

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has succeeded in luring players of Nigerian descent born abroad to pledge their future to the Nigerian team but Lookman has turned down his approach.

While Ola Aina and Chuba Akpom have given their words to Rohr about representing Nigeria, Lookman who is also a youth international for England has confirmed his commitment to the Three Lions of England.

Lookman told Dan Ashworth, the FA’s director of elite development, that he wants to play for England despite interest from Nigeria.

He hopes to represent England at the U-21 European Championship, and also has high hopes that he will gate crash coach Gareth Southgate senior side before the World Cup 2018 in Russia.

Ademola Lookman has made his choice, I truly believe Nigeria should not bevan option but a choice.

I hope it goes well with him. Now we can look at those who want to play for thier Fatherland. We still have to raise the Brand Green Eagles higher and make it a high aspiration and thing of great pride.

Now the NFF have to stop buying into the hype and do thier own research and discovery. Do not wait for England to discover talent for you before you can recognise it. Not all premier players are good enough for the Eagles.

In this regard Ademola is not as good as Aluko by a huge margin younger yes, better capital No. Ademola is not in my opinion better than Onyedinma and he is a class act. If not for football politics he should be playing at a top premiership team.

I am not impressed by Chuba Akpom he is simply not good enough as a striker.

Anichebe on his day is completely unplayable he should be in the mix.

Of course all eyes are on Oghene - Tega, with England promising all kinds of endorsement as a spin off for playing for England.

Meanwhile adios to Ademola

DENMARK (CHAMPIONSHIP GROUP ROUND 1)

Brondby 3-2 Midtjylland
Paul Onuachu‘s brace could not prevent his Midtjylland from falling away to Brondby Sunday. Onuachu’s individual efforts stretched his goals this season to eleven total. His double at Brondby took him to the top of the top scorers chart for the Championship Group which will determine the eventual champions of the league. FC Copenhagen currently lead the mini league consisting six clubs, and are on course to picking the sole ticket for UEFA Champions League qualification later this year.

Nordsjaelland 2-0 Lyngby
Relatively unknown Nigerian forward, Kim Ojo was brought in on the 72nd minute in Lyngby’s loss away to Nordsjaelland last week Friday. The 28 year old forward has only one goal to his credit this season, since his move from Jupiler League side Leuven in 2016.

DENMARK (RELEGATION GROUP ROUND 1)

Horsens 0-0 Odense
One-cap Super Eagles midfielder, Izu Uzochukwu was involved from start to finish for Odense in an away stalemate with Horsens. Odense are presently at risk of relegation should they fall below second position after the relegation round. The final decision will be made after a relegation play-off between the third and fourth placed team in the four-club mini league. The 26 year old F.C. Ebedie product must do everything to help his team avoid the drop to at least keep his dream alive for another international call up. He was part of the Super Eagles squad that was involved in the Nigeria versus Tanzania AFCON 2017 first leg qualifier, under former coach Sunday Oliseh.

NETHERLANDS (Round 29)

Roda JC 2-1 PEC Zwolle
In the conclusion of midweek fixtures in the Dutch Eredivisie, Dutch-born forward, Kingsley Ehizibue, who is reportedly targeted by the Nigeria Football Federation, traveled with Zwolle to Parkstad Limburg Stadion (Kerkrade) to face Abdul Ajagun‘s Roda. The trip proved futile as Roda did not disappoint in front of their home fans. Former Flying Eagles attacking midfielder, Ajagun was on for Roda from start to finish, as Ehizibue’s introduction in the 68th minute did not make any difference in the scorline for the visitors. Roda scored just before the dot of time through dutch midfielder, Mikhael Rosheuvel.

NORWAY (Round 1 and 2)

Stabaek 3-1 Aalesund (Round 1)
Former Norwegian youth international, 23 year-old Ohi Omoijuanfo handed the maximum points to Stabaek in their season opener versus visiting Aalesund in grand style, scoring a hattrick. Omoijuanfo struck in the 14th minute, and scored his second six minutes later. The Oslo-born forward completed his treble in the 50th minute. Ohi, whose father is Nigerian represented Norway at all youth levels and is still yet to get his first senior cap for his country of birth. Nigeria still has a chance to snap him based on FIFA eligibility rules.

Sarpsborg 3-1 Sogndal (Round 1)
Former Golden Eaglet, Chidiebere Nwakali fell with Sogndal away to Sarpsborg over the past weekend. The elder brother to Kelechi Nwakali, started and was involved in Sogndal’s last substitution in the 73rd minute with all goals already scored.

Stromsgodset 3-1 Haugesund (Round 1)
Nigerian forward, Marco Tagbajumi, opened his season for homers Stromsgodset by scoring one goal on either half. Although booked in the 23rd minute, Marco did not let the earlier caution derail his early-season statement as he played all the way till the dying moments of the encounter. The visitors, Haugesund, also paraded a Nigerian in 20 year old forward, Shuibu Lalle Ibrahim from start to finish.

Lillestrom 2-1 Sandefjord (Round 1)
Ex Flying Eagles midfielder, Ifeanyi Matthew helped Lillestrom storm to a win over visiting Sandefjord. While Ifeanyi featured the entire encounter, Lillestrom’s other Nigerian-decent, Chidozie Udoji was a 46th minute sub-in. 30 year old Chidozie is a Hungarian passport holder.

Kristiansund 0-1 Molde (Round 1)
Thompson Ekpe watched Kristiansund from their bench as they lost at home to Molde.

Sogndal 4-1 Stabaek (Round 2)
Chidiebere Nwakali started and lasted 70 minutes Wednesday as they beat Stabaek at home in Fosshaugane Campus. Chidiebere was subbed out immediately the visitors scored their consolation with the scoreline at 3-1. The elder Nwakali was one of the prominent members of the Manu Garba led FIFA U17 world conquerors in 2013. Ohi Omoijuanfo, who scored a hattrick in the previous round was on from start to finish for the visitors. Although he did not add to his goals tally, he still remains at the top of the Eliteserien top scorers chart.

Brann 3-0 Stromsgodset (Round 2)
Marco Tagbajumi fired blanks for visitors, Stromsgodset playing away to Brann.

Haugesund 2-0 Valerenga (Round 2)
Relatively unknown Shuibu Ibrahim fired a brace and provided an assist for Haugesund in an explosive encounter with Valerenga that saw seven goals. Ibrahim seemed to have killed the game with a brace, after Haugesund had helped the visitors with an own goal earlier in the first half when Valerenga substitutes scored twice late in the second half threatening to force a draw. But Ibrahim was not done as he turned provider for the game winner in the 89th minute.

Molde 2-1 Lillestrom (Round 2)
A made-in-Nigeria goal could not prevent Lillestrom from falling away to Molde. Ex-Flying Eagles midfielder, Ifeanyi Matthew scored the visitors solitary goal from a Chigozie Udoji assist in the 47th minute. Molde left it late till the 3rd minute of extra time to seal the home win.

Odd 2-0 Kristiansund
Thompson Ekpe watched Kristiansund from their bench as they lost at away to Odd.

Daniel Martins is in Delusion, this is not a BIG BLOW to Nigeria.

Ademola was never going to be the answer to any of our problems.

If the boy agrees to play for Nigeria then Elderson will have to buckle up but I think Elderson still has an edge over Torunarigha because he has experience.

My take on Pep And Iheanacho.

Earlier in the season when the debate about whether Iheanacho should leave City or stay, my opinion was let him face the competition and fight for shirt if he is the Super Star we say he is.

When Gabriel Jesus came and Iheanacho was excluded from match day squads i said the next couple of weeks will tell.

Gabriel Jesus got injured and Iheanacho is still being left out of match day squads consistently for a couple of weeks.

IMO mancity does not have plans for Kelechi Iheanacho. Jesus is out and Iheanacho is nt even on the bench so what now happens after the second coming of Jesus? Him fit no make bench for the 'Drills' sef.

I am worried.

Why?

2018 WC is 14months away. I have faith that we will qualify. And if Pep continues dealing with Iheanacho same way then that will spell doom for us. People are mentioning, Kayode, Odey, Adi, Ideye, Anichebe and co. All these are not Super star materials. None of them can pose a 5star performance even on their best day.

Iheanacho even on his off day on the pitch still manages to pose at least a 3 star performance. He is the only striker we have that has the potential to pose a 5star performance on his good day.

So we need a club that can help him and us attain that level befitting his potential. It is not every year we see player of such calibre being born in Nigeria and we allow Pep to continue drilling him as if he is searching for Oil in his head?

I dnt even mind any more if he goes to any middle table team. We need him to be playing as we build towards the world cup next year.
We dnt even need him on the bench and he plays 5-10mins. We need him to be playing 90mins.

My verdict: Iheanacho must leave City this summer!

I concur with your verdict on 'Iheanacho must leave City this summer' but I disagree on your ascertion that none of those aforementioned players can not pose 5 five star performance on their good day. Mbannu! grin

Have you forgotten so soon Victor Anichebe's performances before he got injured when he played for the Super Eagles?

What about Ideye perfomance when we won the Nations cup?

Haba! Why we dey try overlook or discredit these players efforts because we love or wan promote one player na? grin

Tournament get levels oooo. grin

We have seen Iheanacho fumbled when he played as a striker on three occasions and we have seen Iheanacho fumbled when the bar was raised at the U20 world cup.

Or did you see him give 3 star performance on those occasions not talk of 5 star ....? grin

Really, I have not considered Nacho as a striker until now because I know his strenght .

He is a s/s or A/M and that's all. grin

Monaco is still hot on his Hills. I was never sold on to his qualities until I saw him in Brazil. If he joins either of these two clubs "Monaco and Galatasaray", then Onazi would be on a long thing. Onazi could even be pushed further down the pecking order next season when Mikel Agu rejoins FC PORTO.

Ndidi - Leicester city
Etebo - Monaco/Leicester bound
Azu Okey - Monaco/Galatasaray/Besiktas bound
Mikel Agu- fc Porto
Onazi - sivaspor turkey

That's what's called squad depth. Am proud of that.

So what happens if Onazi also moves to a big club?

IMHO concerning this Stephen Odeh's issue, I'll prefer we give him a little time till probably the end of season so that he would have been consistently consistent enough to be trusted

If we hastily bring him in and he probably flops in his debut, he might never get that chance again to prove himself

But if he has succeeded enough in the NFPL, a wrong debut would be seen as one of his off days

It is not about liking Azubuike but on what basis should we invite him ahead of Esiti, Agu, Lawal etc who are also playing well at a higher level.

If Azubuike moves to a bigger club and shows his qualities then he is fully deserving.
