Emir of Kano, Sanusi Muhammad II says if
Nigeria were to break up into components
today, Northern Nigeria would be the poorest countries in the world.
The Monarch said this in his key note address during the opening ceremony of Kaduna State’s Investment and Economic summit (KADINVEST), titled ‘Promoting Investment Amidst Economic Challenges’ in Kaduna state today April 5th.


Emir stressed that it would be a disservice to use the standard of living of Nigerians residing in oil rich Niger Delta or commercially viable Lagos and business oriented south-east, to compare that of the North. According to the Emir, the North East and North West regions are the most poorest regions in the country and even in the world.


“As far back at 2000, I looked at the numbers, Borno and Yobe states, UNDP figures, Borno and Yobe states, if they were a country on their own, were poorer than Niger, Cameroon and Chad.

Nobody saw this because we were looking at Nigeria as a country that averages the oil-rich Niger Delta, the industrial and commercial-rich Lagos, the commercially viable southeast, and you have an average.Break Nigeria into its component parts, and these parts of the country
are among the poorest, if it were a country.

And we do not realise we are in trouble”he said Continuing the monarch said “Other Muslim countries have pushed on. We are fighting culture, we are fighting civilisation. You tell me that you should not write love book in northern Nigerian. What is the crime of those
books?” he asked.


He decried the burning of science books in some parts of the North due to religious beliefs. On the culture of marrying more than one wife and given birth to children without proper Family planning, Sanusi said.


“Of what benefit is it to the north, having three million children roaming about?” he asks.

The North needs the Niger-Delta, Lagos and South East to survive.

Their elite feeds on the illiteracy and poverty of the people to enhance their personal aggrandizement.

They should be ready to hold their leaders accountable, and stop the almajiri caste system.

Everybody knows this, that is why the north will fight tooth and nail for one Nigeria. Agricultural produce with the archaic farming methods can't sustain them in this modern technology driven world. Additionally, they will be landlocked.

If poverty is your problem in the North, then you should build more mosques. Just build more mosques!!. And give your girls out for marriage at age 9 without education and they must teach their children the most important thing on earth is Islam.................. More children must be born. No matter how poor a man, he must marry 3 wives and born as many children as possible. It helps!.................. Of course, parents must have their children recite the Koran 8 times daily, though I'll suggest 20 times daily, cause the more you read the Koran the more developed your towns become. Children must also learn to Jihad by age 11 to protect their faith against infidels, and they must visit the mosque 10 times daily to pray. And hurray!!. Allah would provide wealth and development.

Give full autonomy to the 36 States so they can contribute uniform percentage of their earnings to Central Government.

You can see how he mentioned only Lagos, aka Nomans'land and not SW while he mentions Niger Delta and South East. As an Economist he knows only Lagos is viable over there, Ogun is now sitting idle and claiming glory for expansion of lagos into their empty land. Can they please show us one factory in Abeokuta??

the north do not know how important Sanusi is to them in this modern world/time, this is a man that can bring them out of stone age, what the north do not know about the south is that, the south was once like them, the south killed the white men and even eat some of them for bringing western eduction to them but they later change their mind and accepted Christianity and western education, but can the north do like that? the north trying to draw every body to stone age
