making money has nothing to do with wat ur certificate reads.
Today's leaders, CEOs are not first class students but yet they employ and fire first class graduates, pls don't try to jinx 3rd class graduates, I hv seen third class graduates who r now professors.
And to every third class graduate u r only limited by wat u believe is possible.

success is HARD WORK, SACRIFICE AND
PERSEVERANCE, all these I believe u don't need any grade to qualify for. There are many successful
people who do not own a degree. They just
work really hard and aimed for one vision =
SUCCESS. With this, they sacrifice and do
whatever it takes to be successful and
what they have been dreaming of. However,
this does not mean that one may not study
hard, we need proper education still.
just because they were poor in academics
doesn’t mean that they cannot be successful.
There are several great personalities who were
failures at first but then became a success,
gained fame and glory. For eg: Albert
Einstein… he was poor in academics and got
scolded by teachers a lot. They even said that
he wouldn’t amount much to life. But he went
on to develop many theories in physics,
especially the theory of relativity and E =
mc^2 which is known as the most famous
equation in the world. He even received the
Nobel Prize for Physics.
If one wants success, one has to have basic
knowledge, willpower, responsibility, common
sense, leadership skills, capability to think and
reason with and competitiveness, for, it is not
only the good academic grades that can pave
your path to success, but these factors too.
Not all jobs require great grades. Not all IPS
and IAS officers have great grades. Not all
engineers and doctors are rank holders, yet
they have made a success out of their lives.
Though that doesn’t mean that we don’t need
to study or get good grades. But, its not the
only thing required for success. It is one
among the many factors for being
successful…. A successful entrepreneur, has an
understanding of how to make a buck. They
possess the talent of taking in a buck and
turning it into ten. Some may have gotten Cs
and Ds in high school, but they might be the
ones who can think ahead and earn the
maximum profit.
So, I’ll say, good academic grades is only one
of the factors and not the only factor that
makes us successful in life.

In college, it's all about grades. In the real world, it's about experience, balls and drive. Because once you get past the first job, no one is ever going to ask you about your GPA or how you did on that Psych 215 final. What matters in the real world is your ability to adapt, innovate and get along. There are no scantron sheets or essay exams. There are no TA’s to hold review sessions or to help you practice your presentation. Real life is about how well you can bullsh*t your way through it, and that's not something taught in a classroom The greatest thinkers, leaders and entrepreneurs of our time have been the men to defy the rules and take risks. They were the ones getting C's or flunking out. However, their “failures' were not a factor of intelligence, but an inability to be weighed down by grades and superficial markings. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Richard Branson , are just a few of the men who achieved unfathomable amounts of wealth, status and success without ever really succeeding in a classroom. They are the men, that by society’s standards, had failed. With their passion and intelligence, they were able to change the world with nothing more than a bachelor’s degree and a transcript of failing grades (sometimes not graduating at all). These men understood at an early age that just because society, and everyone around them, placed an excessive amount of importance on grades didn’t mean they were right.

Am not saying third class is a good grade but if you believing you have hope of making it in life more than third class graduates, you are kicking your ass by yourself...let me tell you, in the western world, nobody cares with what you graduated with...once you are done with the courses and the university awarded you with the certificate....my brother, you can apply for any job and and compete for anything within your field of interest....the problems with Nigeria is the little jobs available are for millions applicants...you have to wake up from that sleep now.
Lies from the pit of hell. Most of my family school(ed) and live abroad both in the U.S and Australia. They value that thing called CGPA especially if it's from a reputable and very exclusive Institution. Even getting admission to Colleges and loans you must maintain a certain cgpa. They are more open minded, yes, but they value quality results too. I have a cousin who works for Google, he's a fúcking genius, a living computer. Most Tech firms and big companies abroad employ based on both strong educational performance and personality traits. So, you are wrong.

Bro, I have been abroad thrice now and I follow global trends. There's always a cut off point for cgpa's which you can easily translate to the first class, third class and all that. I applied for an executive MBA program in Holland and the minimum was a 3.8 of a 5 point system to be accepted. Even Deloitte are recruiting right now in the US and are demanding a minimum of 3.0 cgpa of a 4 point system for eligibility.

I am not saying a third Class graduate won't make it in Life bro, I am familiar with the western culture as I am a postgraduate student in one of the top world universities currently, She graduated with a third class because she never tried to catch up, she was tired of trying, I wish her the best actually and that is why i made the statement in the last paragraph of my comment, She can always get back up again and soar. Again, I am only against why she stopped trying to move up higher from that grade, not against third class graduates..

Business of her own... Doing Make-up?

A business that will soon run out of order like the dinosaurs once every single woman knows to do it which is the trend is leading to.

This girl was a lazy person at school.
Honours in your certificate simply means you didn't do extra year at school. It doesn't mean anything extra.

She claimed not to do some exams in 2nd year.. Dial it back, that's 2014. And that year, she was already on Instagram meaning she had a very good phone which she coulda used to pay school fees if her issue was money.

Summary, this girl wants us to celebrate mediocre, to praise laziness (and maybe stupidity). But we won't. We've had enough of these mediocrities.

Also, all these "I will get my own business" shut needs to stop. It's discouraging our upcoming generation. School may not be compulsory but Education is. And these days, you only get those in schools.

All of these top successful entrepreneurs are not lazy f*cks like these new ones springing out everyday. They worked extremely hard and learnt what they couldn't in school from other places.

Bros you are getting things mixed up though you both made some valid points.
CGPA or any point system is relevant and used for specific entry-level graduate recruitment (common with lots of big companies in the US and beyond) and for graduate program admission (yet there are exceptions in certain institutions). For general job openings beyond the entry-level your academic grade is mostly irrelevant. Some roles will specify that you must have a Bachelor's degree. That is just a requirement, they don't care about your grades. At that point, it's always about your resume (your body of work in terms of professional experience!) and in some fields, your professional certifications. Believe it or not, there are lots of people in Microsoft, Cisco, Google, Facebook etc without stellar university grades. In USA, the unemployment rate for graduates is around 4%. Which means if you pick 25 graduates in USA, 24 of them are employed. That means you can start your career with any company and build your professional resume. The path towards such achievement is the real story, so nobody should be discouraged just because they got a third class in a university. Lots of them end up being very successful after school life - maybe because they mostly have a point to prove as lots of them ended up with not too good grades in the university due to factors beyond academics.
Your grade in the university is just one part of your resume. This is not to encourage sloppiness in school but the fact is that your grade in most cases is not a reflection of your ability in a professional or business environment. It is even worse when your certificate is from Nigerian universities.

You are correct. I wasn't trying to say a person with 3rd class wouldn't be successful, that's ridiculous. I was only trying to make a point about CGPA's also being important in other countries.
