Nigeria: Chelsea Fans Eager to Have Moses Back in Action

Chelsea fans have clamoured for Victor Moses' immediate return to action after Antonio Conte's side seemed to have struggled in their two recent games played without the injured Nigerian international.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Moses has missed Chelsea's last two Premier League games against Crystal Palace and Manchester City due to injury.

His last game for Chelsea was in their 2-1 away win against Stoke City in March and it is not yet confirmed if he will feature against Bournemouth on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.

Following Moses' continued absence, some of Chelsea fans took to twitter on Friday to express their wish that the right-wing-back get back into the team as quickly as possible.

4EverDope @Flimzzy889 said he wished that Moses could be ready for their away trip to Manchester United next Sunday.

"We've missed you a lot (Moses) and I pray you recover quickly before our match against Man United," he said.

Luke @LukePainter said that he couldn't wait for Moses' return.
"Swift recovery Victor. Need you back," he said.

Ollie Glanvill @OllieGlanvill urged that Moses should be included in Chelsea's squad to face Bournemouth this Saturday.

"Get back for Bournemouth Vic, going to be big," he said.

On his part, J @jwv1995 confessed that Moses had been missed by the fans and the team.

"Hope to see you back in the side soon Vic, we need you."

Also, in other tweets, Sideways @Stamfordrich wrote: "Need you back asap."

While, Blessed Samuel @BlessedSamuel88 said: "We need you back on the pitch... Your impact is missed. Wish you come back soon."

NAN also reports that Moses has made 27 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring three goals. (NAN)

That is you. What you miss is the dedication and discipline Cristiano Ronaldo has. CR7 is one of my models of footballing success. He has a laser focus to keep himself at the top of his game. He is one of the most dedicated footballers and leaves a healthy lifestyle mostly during the season.

Most clubs or coaches do not have this model. A good example is, Iwobi staying up at night, browsing and chatting. At City, he will not play the next match if he was a starter.

This is not just about Guardiola's training but a model of Barcelona which I see as an ingredient for success in young players. We have three Barca execs running City. One running the academy and Barca academy style coaches in the club.

A year or two under this system will make Nacho flourish in the future.

You can not guarantee that Nacho will get such education at another club. When it comes to training methods, Guardiola is a coach that has a history of players improving with wide margins. Stones and Delph are recent examples. He also improved quality players like Messi, Lewandowski and Alaba.

We can not just want Nacho out of such environment because we want to see his name on headlines.
and you think kelechi is not a hard working player then you need to rethink, all the players you metion where geting the drills plus adequate game time. Did he keep messi, stalin, sane, stones and all those you metion on the bench for 1 month on the name of drilling?

I have said it repeatedly. A year or two and then go. The reason why I said go is because at the end he might not fit in exactly. Although I believe with perseverance and Hardwork, he can achieve it. Even play it better than those with the natural abilities.

If he does not make it, he will still become a far better player than he would have in most environment that lack the education we have at City.
then why waste his time when he can go somewhere else and build on his natural abilities?

NPFL : Stakes High As Rohr Watches MFM , El -Kanemi Clash In Lagos ; 3SC Target 5th Win Against Tornadoes

Two NPFL title hopefuls, MFM FC and El-Kanemi Warriors will clash at the Agege Stadium in one of the biggest fixtures of matchday 18 on Sunda, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

MFM who lost 4-0 to Nasarawa United in their mid-week fixture in Lafia are looking to maintain their impressive winning streak against El-Kanemi Warriors. It was the second time they would concede four goals this season. The Maiduguri warriors are yet to record a win, not a point, away from home this term.

The buildup to the game has been completely dominated by the report that Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr, is expected to be in the stands to watch the talents IN the two sides, especially the League top scorer Stephen Odey, who has scored in every game at the ‘Soccer Temple’ so far this season. This fixture will be particularly exciting as Stephen Odey who has scored 13 goals could set a new record in the NPFL if he bags a brace in his 15th appearance.

Also El-Kanemi Warriors could also go top of the log for the first time with a win. At the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan, Shooting Stars will be desperate to redeem their battered image when they take on Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.

The Oluyole Warriors lost their previous match 4-2 to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium- their heaviest defeat so far this term. Fatai Amoo's side will be banking on their unbeaten home to record another win – their fifth of the season.

Kayode Olujoungbe will be desperate to end his side's poor run when Sunshine Stars take on Remo Stars at the Akure Township Stadium. Olujoungbe is one match from being sacked if he fails to win on Sunday with former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen poised to take over.

ABS, winless in their last six games, will look to overturn their miserable run when they host Nasarawa United at the Kwara State Stadium. The Lafia based outfit has recorded three draws away from home in nine games this term.

Nasarawa United are seventh in the NPFL while ABS have dropped to 13th position.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars host Akwa United who have not won a game away from home this season. Both teams have contrasting results from their laat games.

Pillars lost to El Kanemi Warriors while Akwa United handed Shooting Stars their biggest defeat of the season.

Newly promoted Katsina United could topple sixth placed Enyimba of Aba with a win at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium. Currently in seventh position, Katsina United will be banking on their top scorer this season, Adamu Hassan with six goals, to lead the front line.

In other fixtures, Lobi Stars will face FC IfeanyiUbah at the Aper Aku stadium, Wikki Tourist will look to improve their standings in the log when they face Gombe United at the Abubaka Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi.

The games involving reigning champions Enugu Rangers and current league leaders Plateau United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and Rivers United and Abia Warriors at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium have both been postponed due to CAF Confederation Cup fixtures this weekend.

I have repeatedly stated that I want playing time for Nacho. I wonder how else I will write it again. However, even without playing time, Nacho can still keep developing. Fabian Delph just proved it. I do not need to write something proven.

I am nit saying Nacho is not hard working. I am saying Nacho needs to go beyond that to achieve more than he could ever dream of.

Ha. I already explained that the training and Discipline will make him a better all round player. It is what we call the modern game. Do you not see how Klopp dropped Benteke despite his brilliant goal scoring ability for Firmino. If Benteke was a young player like Nacho, I would have advised stay, learn and study Firmino. Unfortunately, he is not that young, so he has to make do with what he has.

As for Nacho who is still young, he should learn and then leave to show what he can do with better playing time.

Iheanacho needs to leave Man City by the end of the season and that's all. He needs a steady run of games and I assure if he gets it he would return to his goal scoring best.He needs at least straight 900mins of football that is 10 full matches of playing time. He should just leave Man City because he isn't in Guardiola's plan

benteke did not wait for drills from klop and go why can't kelechi do the same. Is aguero not old for drills if benteke was old? how are you sure he is learning when he is not playing he should go where he will get the drills plus adequate game time period

If Benteke was young, I would advice him to stay. Hence he is not, I would not. As for Aguero, we are not sure of his position. If he was young, stay and learn. If his position is not secured, I will say leave. My point is so simple and clear.

The is not just about game time but having a top quality player in the near future. Nacho should not walk away if he knows he is genuinely improving at a fast rate, irrespective of game time.

Fabian Delph have actually been a good player. I watched him at Aston Villa where he was captain and I can tell you he was the heart beat of their team. The guy broke into the English 3 lions team and basically outgrew Aston Villa.
You think Man city will go out of their way and sign a nothing player?
Don't make it out like Delph was basically trash and Pep Guardiola drilled a good player out of him, when on the contrary the Man city transfer derailed his development.

Benteke was a Brendan Rodgers signing not Klopp's player. He left because he couldn't fit into the heavy band gengen pressing style of Klopp. He left for a team who plays to his strength.

Iwobi had more of that and dipped in form. Ighalo too. So game time is not a guarantee. What game time shows is how good you are. What I am after is Iheanacho improving in quality. Then seek where to show the quality. Whether at City or another place.

Delph was never the player I will say must make the Manchester City starting eleven. He played games for City and was never in the term of what I will say Brilliant. What we saw against Chelsea was absolutely brilliant. Now I can not wait to see him play again for City.

“We’ve gone through the first year with this manager and we have learned a lot. I certainly look at football a lot differently now." - Fabian Delph after Chelsea game.

Coaches set up their teams in different ways. You can not expect Guardiola and Zidane to operate with the same template. Guardiola is known for making positional changes like converting Mascherano into a defender and playing Alaba in central defence. Playing a winger up front is also not illogical. Iheanacho was in the bench at Manchester City when Pellegrini opted to give James Milner a run as a top striker.

If Zidane does not do it, it does not mean other coaches will not. It does not make Guardiola wrong to make such move or show hatred to Iheanacho.

Guardiola insists he tries to treat all players fairly during training and he does this in line of his vision of how they will play few years ahead. This education is important and we hope Iheanacho soaks them in, including the discipline and lifestyle part.

U can suger coat it all u want but playing Sterling at striker instead of Iheanacho is a slap in the face to all of us, even u.
In all the cases u have mentioned there were no other options, Sterling can never be an option because he cannot convert shi shi.
At best Pep is being arrogant when he leaves his only other striker off the bench. U need to follow us and think of the bigger picture which is Russia. At this moment some coaches would not invite him.

“Fabian has tremendous skill and energy and the fact that he has become a regular member of the England squad is further evidence of his progress over the past few seasons. At just 25 years old he still has his best years ahead of him.”...... Pelegrini

That was Pelegrini speaking after signing Delph. You could see he was rated as one of the brightest midfielders in the Premier league. Delph is no slouch.

If you listen to guys like Delph and Walcot speak you can tell they are well brought up kids. They basically know what to say and when to say it. That was a very diplomatic Delph speaking.

Thank you. As much as I criticised some of your points, I can not disagree with your sincere and first hand knowledge of the game.

I personally felt crossed with Guardiola not giving Iheanacho more time after Gabriel Jesus injury and I believed that leaving was the best knowledge.

My first position was Nacho should learn from Guardiola. A year or two. The lack of game time made me feel a year is just enough. The question is, should we sacrifice Nacho's development because of our urge of seeing Iheanacho's name in the headlines of articles?

I wanted Nacho to leave but I was stunned watching Delph play against Chelsea. He looked quality and Yaya's position at City is under threat.

If we can see an honest improvement in Delph with little to no game time, there is a big possibility of Nacho improving without the same.

My vision is not about Nacho becoming a regular at City. I want the young man one of the best in the World but he must not play at City when he is ready. I just want the improvement. Learn what Guardiola wants him to learn.
@the goodjoe are you aware that when you insist that Iheanacho should stay in man city to learn whatever he can learn under Gaurdiola you somehow ignore the fact that coaches come in different strains and that whatever he might learn under Pep might just be undone when he finds himself under the tutelage of another coach? NFF Not Giving Up On Chase For Everton Starlet Lookman Until He Makes Competive Debut For England

The Nigeria Football Federation have refused to throw in the towel in their pursuit of highly-rated Everton striker Ademola Lookman amid claims that he has committed his international future to England ahead of Nigeria at senior level.

The very experienced Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, Bitrus Bewarang, tested the validity of the story, and has suggested that the NFF’s hopes are not entirely dashed since Lookman was not directly quoted in the report, and he has not represented the Three Lions in any competitive match for that matter.

“I am not aware of Lookman deciding to play for England, did he say that openly? At junior level, he can still play for Nigeria if he so likes later, ” Bewarang said to
allnigeriasoccer.com .

“If he plays for England senior team, that should be what we should be worried about. ”

Bewarang added : “We are not in the U20 World Cup, so definitely if someone is trying to look for progress in his profession, he has the choice to make.

“There is still hope he could be convinced later to play for Nigeria, It’s our prayer.

“If we were in the U20 World Cup, I’m sure he would have made up his mind to play for Nigeria, players want to see the level they can reach.”

Ademola Lookman is one of four players of Nigerian descent expected to represent the Young Lions in South Korea this summer, the others being Chelsea duo Fikayo Tomori and Dominic Solanke and Tottenham Hotspur’s Josh Onomah.

Mikel Misses First Game In China, Ideye Subbed In After Missing Two Training Sessions For Family Reasons

Tianjin Teda were held to a goalless draw by newly promoted Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng in the Chinese Super League on Saturday.

Tianjin Teda struggled without their influential skipper John Obi Mikel, who failed a late fitness test ahead of the contest at Guiyang Olympic Sports Center.

Manager Jaime Pacheco was unsure of the availability of another Nigeria international in the shape of Brown Ideye before his side faced Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng.

The former West Brom star was granted leave due to personal and family reasons, and missed two training sessions before re-joining Tianjin Teda on Friday.

Ideye is still searching for his first goal in the Chinese Super League after firing blanks in the 25 minutes he spent on the pitch today.

NFF Set To Cap-Tie Chelsea, Arsenal Talents Aina, Akpom; Begin Processing Passports

The Nigeria Football Federation have set the ball rolling to cap-tie Chelsea defender Ola Aina and Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom ahead of the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on June 10.

One of the requirements that must be satisfied before the applications of the London-born talents can be sent to Fifa for approval is that they must be in the possession of Nigerian passports.

“It is the choice of the technical adviser (Rohr) but we will support him. Only him can decide if Aina and Akpom will be called up for the South Africa AFCON qualifier, ” a top staff of the Nigeria Football Federation told
allnigeriasoccer.com .

“Efforts are being made to process their switch. We are working on the passports of Ola Aina and Chuba Akpom, the Nigerian Federation in collaboration with Ministry of Internal Affairs.”

Ex-England U19 skipper Ola Aina played competitively for England U19s at the UEFA Euro U19 Championship Qualifiers back in 2014, while Akpom has featured for England U21s in a competitive match against Norway this season.

I did not say stay at Manchester City all his career. A year or two and absolve the technical understanding and Discipline of the game. After that seek for game time. You can not unlock knowledge. This is about gaining deep understanding and applying it. Improving his attributes.

For instance, if he learns to play as fluid as Gabriel Jesus or Firmino, a coach can not unlock that.

CHRISTIAN BASSOGOG EXPLAINS WHY HE CHOSE CHINA

The Afcon MVP has explained why he eschewed interest from Europe in order to switch to the CSL

Cameroon international and Henan Jianye attacker Christian
Bassogog has explained why he chose to ignore interest from Europe and move to China following his star showing in Gabon to join the improving and affluent Chinese Super League.

The Africa Cup of Nations MVP recently joined the ever-growing list of world superstars who are lured by clubs who spend huge amounts of money to bring them to the Asian country. His performances at the Afcon in January saw Jianye break the bank for his signature.

In moving to the CSL, he joins the likes of Oscar, Ramires, John Obi Mikel and Carlos Tevez, all of whom have opted for a switch to the Far East in recent times.

Africa is also growing their own strong contingent in the league, with the likes of Bassogog, Mikel, Gervinho, Odion Ighalo, Stephane Mbia and Papiss Cisse among some of the players already plying their trade in the country.

The 21-year-old winger says he’s had to answer a lot of questions from his Indomitable Lions teammates about his decision to ignore a move to big Europeans leagues and move to China.

“A lot of their questions were based on whether I was coerced into going,” he said, as reported by The Guardian . “One of the things I have done is make them understand that I chose to go there [China] because I believed in the challenge.

"Maybe, me going there is showing that it isn’t all about what people think from the outside. Then, they ask me what it’s like and whether it could be good for them, as well," he continued, "and one thing I have also understood from being in China is that they bring in the big signings to raise the level of their local talent.

"They are doing this for the good of the game in their country; it’s not some misplaced thing. When I got to Henan Jianye, they made it clear that I was also there to lift the quality of those playing with me and against me.

“There are many doubters and they are very vocal but a lot of people – myself included – form opinions of China from a distance. The truth is that, unless you are actually in it, you wouldn’t really know what Chinese football is.”

Despite admitting that lucrative contracts being offered to those willing to call China their new home was persuasive up to a point, Bassogog conceded that he intends to use the league as a stepping stone to becoming a big player and even return to Europe someday.

“That is of more interest and relevance to me,” Bassogog added. “It is about rising to that challenge as a young player and knowing that, if I am successful in China, I would still be able to come to the very top levels of European football.

"I am a firm believer in the fact there isn’t one path to making it to the top. Football is a truly global game and I have now played on four different continents. Who is to say that in the future I will not find myself in England, Spain or Germany?”
The former AaB and Wilmington Hammerheads attacker has already started two matches for the Red Devils, who remain winless after three matches.

I repeat, Fabian Delph was not the player we saw against Chelsea. I am a City fan and watched most of Delph's games, including his preseason games. He was not special. He was never the player to put Yaya, Fernando or Fernandinho. Today, he is first on my list. That is a big jump.

You have read Fabian Delph's words. You want to argue with him.
