Don't be fast to judge , yiu dont know me. I wasn't desperate .I was younger and knew nothing about visa. I wanted to visit and come back to Nigeria. I never knrw anything about Do It Yourself then. People no dey make mistake? You talk like youre perfect cos you got yours? People gave better suggestions and youre here saying this... I said I leave it to God. As no be life n death matter. If na my way , God go do am...next time ehn, just pass by, don't type.

Thanks , I took TOEFL and I'm using nyfa's admission letter. The things is that most schools that offer film production course do it as MFA(masters of Fine Art) and its 3years which is around $75k.. NYFA offered what i really wanted. I checked the trend from part1, no film person here. most are sciences , social sciences , commercial and those engineering etc. But I learnt alot from people's transcripts, to be honest.
I appreciate you.

Forget about that story ooo.... what will work for X might not work for Y ... lots of people are never given second chances once there is a fraud or red flag

So you do what best for you. If you are serious them take test and apply to standard proper university. I saw the 3 list of schools u applied. Did u take any test ? ... the other 2 . Their wiki shows both are small private schools. I would advice you again, apply to a standard school.

All visas are do it yourself.
Forgetting to put a date of birth in a visa application is a mistake, indicating you were working, when you were clearly not - ostensibly to give yourself an edge in a visa application - is deliberate misrepresentation. Can we please stop this deceitful "it was a mistake" excuses?

Funny you're educated but you not making use of it. Check the meaning of mistake, abeg b4 u run your mouth. Did I tell u I didn't accept doing such in the past? I said it was done out of ignorance .I came here to seek suggestions and people are being honest about what they think, not accusing someone of being desperate. All visas are DIY, that I never knew til years back. I boldly indicated 'agent ' not self and I asked for help. All you came to say is that I'm being deceitful. Na you wan gove me visa? Lagosismyhome and few others have their candid suggestions and not what youre doing ..hospital is filled with sick people who need treatment, so is nairaland people who need help.hide your illness from Doc, you can't get treated, so is nairaland. If you keeep posting such to people, trust me you wl have people discouraged on here. You no be God o ooo, if you were, all sinners for go hell without 2nd chance of repentance..

Nobody can predict such for you @the bold...... it left for you to use the resources available . There are loads of previous transcript posted here. Go through it and prepare very well for your interview .

A lot depends on your response and composure at the interview

Regarding the comment from the VO stating maybe you give it some time. The VO definitely knows way more than me and most people here. If i were u i would have taken his advice but if u choose not to...well u never know.. at the end it can go either way yes or no

So ok then.... loads of transcript here. Learn from the denied and approved and aim / hope for the best.

Thanks alot, the last app was Jan 2016( over a year). I don't know much about this visa thing, but I think now that I have job ,no travel history yet( working on that) n im applying as a student unlike the last which was visiting. B1/b2 is usually difficult for unmarried young men like myself (based on what I read n saw) unlike f1, it's more legit if one can convince the VO.. been there 3 times , saw the rate they give visiting visa to the young, the ratio to student is very low.
Will work on all uve Said and give it a shot. You spoke about being banned, if one makes such enquiry from the embassy, can such info be given?

I find that quite bizarre... that your life's decisions are governed by anonymous posts on a chat forum. There are clear instructions on how and how not to apply for a visa... the US embassy in Lagos also runs a very good consultation service specifically for international students seeking to study in the US. You get access to study prep materials, you also get one-on-one consulting with US public affairs employees who tutor you on how to select amajor, schools, tuition options, the process to obtaining an I-20 and a visa. It costs $200 and you are free to drop in anytime you want. You also have access to their computing resources. Here is the website - https://educationusa.state.gov/centers/educationusa-lagos

Frankly saying you were "ignorant" of this process is an indication of how mentally lazy many in here are. For something that will cost you so much and maybe the defining point in your life, you would expect many would take the effort to research before committing their hard earned resources.

But of course... it's easier to insult others. Good luck to you.

Hi all. Pls I'm trying to fill the DS-160 form but I'm a little bit confused. The question "Address where you will stay in the U.S." is the issue. I don't have accommodation yet in the U.S. so I don't know what to fill in. Should I just put the name of my school as where I'll stay in the U.S?
Also, the question "Do you have specific travel plans". Should I select a No since I've not booked any ticket or gotten visa and I'm being asked the airport I'll arrive at and depart from. Pls help. I don't want to make any mistake. Thanks.

Use the address of the school, or better the location of the Int'l office on campus. (You should have that on your I-20). If you don't have travel plans, just say 'no'. Most want to be sure they're gonna get a visa, before making travelling plans.

All the best.

Mistakes are one thing, dumb is another. You are absolutely free to also ignore posts you do not like. The problem with you isn't my perceived "arrogance", rather it is because you are steeped in a culture that celebrates mediocrity, lack of diligence and a recalcitrant attitude to sound advice (especially one that isn't kowtowing to your ego). Like I said, good luck to you.

Yup, officially, bank statements are NOT required as part of your visa interview docs. You can only bring them along, if you feel they could help support your story. VOs are trained to decide to grant your visa app or otherwise, solely based on your DS-160 info and the actual interview.

sometimes you may have some glitches or hitches in your interview though you might still be a genuine student but maybe some of your answers may not be satisfactory now if I see your bank statement and there's loads of cash I may decide to have pity on you and grant you your visa because I feel you can afford it also...to me oh that's how I see it..then to avoid it by given everyone equal opurtunity cos someone may come with a hefty statement and yours is not that hefty I may give the guy with more hefty statement if your in the same situation meanwhile if I had given you the chance you maybe able to get other opportunities like scholarships and also have good qualities and resources that can be of benefit to the society but I didn't give you a chance now in order to avoid such decisions I'm gonna give everyone equal chances so I wouldn't be needing your your statement that means now its up to you to impress or convice me why I should give you a visa aka you're on your own so what do you have to offer

Thanks sir
