Hmmm interesting ...without subsidy, pump price still is higher than when it was subsidized, and price of crude oil is 50 dollar(-50% less). wonderful

You need to use your head and think before you type - when something is subsidised, it is invariably made cheaper because part of the cost is being offset by the subsidizer - in that case govt under GEJ; if you remove the subsidy, as done by the present administration, it becomes more expensive because the consumer begins to bear the full cost.

The two circumstances are not the same:

Back then, the major forex earner, crude oil sold above $100 while the government, led by the Clueless Jogogoro presided over an unprecedented looting and squandermania of national resources with his famous shameless - Stealing is not Corruption - words of endorsement for this kleptomania.

Presently, Nigerians are having to squarely face and suffer the consequential realities of their stolen and wasted future under the Jonathan administration - Buhari has not charmed Nigerians; they are not blind nor stupid; they have come to realise and accept the truth.

Fashola said, “Now we should be enjoying cheap fuel if the price of oil has dropped globally. Even as we import the product, a major component has reduced in price and while this has reduced, the pump price of fuel in the country still remains the same.......Fashola

A wise man once told me to forget about the poor that they deserve their impoverished state.

Every poor man is his own worst enemy as every useless turning point in his life was embarked upon by their own foolishness.

A poor man is not one whose account is red but one whose head is bereft of ideas

Kai kai; stop displaying your ignorance pls.
I repeat, at least two reasons:no subsidy therefore pump price increases; 2ndly, less forex earnings therefore the country has less money to pay for its imported fuel and others imported goods; hence government hikes pump prices to conserve earnings for other projects.
Under GEJ, the govt was earning over twice as much to afford to cover the cost of subsidy and maintain lower pump price - big difference.

As long as the govt still offsets importers then there is subsidy

Well this post exposed your ignorance....under GEJ high Crude price mean u pay for more for Petrol beacause it the crude oil is the major component of Peterol ....so under GEJ it was better to remove Subsidy than now because the subsidy cost was too high, GEJ Gov could have saved trillions back then..... u dont really understand what u are saying cool cool cool

You keep displaying stupidity in both the manner you argue (going round and round in circles like a headless chicken) and in the content of your argument.
Let me simplify it for you:GEJ's govt was earning a lot more and could therefore afford to pay for subsidies resulting in lower petrol pump price; while the Buhari govt is earning a lot less and therefore cannot afford to keep subsidy hence higher pump price.

GEJ: high earnings +subsidy = low pump price
PMB: low earnings - subsidy = high pump price

Hope you finally get it.

Didnt know u are this stupid....Let me Use " Akara" analogy ....
Price of Bean is high= high akara Price so u will need more Money to subsidize akara
Low price of beans = Low price of akara so Will need Less money to subsidize akara.... Capici ?

You are quite incorrigible, recall your grouse was that because the price of crude oil is down currently under Buhari therefore fuel pump price should correspondingly also go down as opposed to Jonathan's era when prices were high; I was therefore obliged to give you reasons (subsidy removal and reduced forex earnings) as to why the pump price cannot go all that low.

Then out of the blue, you suddenly went off on another tangent arguing about something else - though related.

It is increasingly apparent that your case is akin to the saying 'you can take a cow to the water but you cannot to force it to drink' - if your still cannot comprehend the issues at hand, then I have to give up and leave you in your self imposed disillusionment.

Thank you.

Answer the question - to what extent is subsidy comparatively still in place (that it can significantly impact to the issue at and)?
