godwinony:Lol, that una yeye department. Graduated from same school few years ago with a 2.90 CGPA. Yeah, far from the best but can never be ashamed or feel miserable though I see the minimum of 2nd Class Upper job adverts. The OP has got a psychological problem I know of. There are many working in big firms with a lower GP than mine for sure but then I'm not moved, I'm confident and calm, I'm not the best but I'm glad I'm not the worst |

While it is good to graduate with a good grade (to make it easier to attend exams and interviews), It doesn't matter at the end of the day. all that matters is the grace of God. I graduated with a 2:2. a low one o. cgpa 2.52.......... and this is my second job. My first job was awesome and the only reason I left it for this is because this pays 5 times the first did and it is a multinational one. And for the two jobs, I did not know anybody. All the grace of God. And my advice is for you to try doing something for yourself. Even if you get a job where you earn 2m monthly, you will hate working for someone and want to start your own business...from my experience. Even though its easier from here because I can play around with business ideas knowing i have a monthly steady income, But once one blows I'm resigning. And trust me that is how you will feel 3-4 years after working for people.... So think ahead of the 2:2. Do something. develop a skill. perfect it. or find someone's idea partner with them, and help them market it. Stop being limited. 1 Like |

Well i know people with 1st class that don't still have jobs yet. i finished with a 3rd class and i actually have a graduate paying job. i also have my entrepreneurship by the side. beside if they tell you minimum requirement is a 2-1 apply even if you have a 2-2 apply, write their test and during and interview you would be surprised. Most people don't put their grades on their CV. Lets not forget your certificate looks good on paper but its networking that counts. I would have sincerely loved to come out with a better result to be honest. 1 Like |

Calendermokola:I am sorry brother, it isn't 2.2. The course you read is what I called a problem course, hard to get a job with that even with 2.1, saying from experiences. My advice for you is to continue your accounting exams and become chartered.lots of my friends that had2.2 Accounting barely spent up to a year before getting employed.Lastly, there are so many job openings that requires a minimum of 2.2, so I don't understand your complain of marginalization. change your mindset and improve on your skill, diversify. 1 Like |

Greatbeard: Honestly there are no tips. It's the grace of God and your hard/smart work when you finally get the job. so while waiting for that 'dream job', do something.. .. never believe you need so much to start something. Just start up something. ideas or marketing other people's ideas. There is a thread in the business section on businesses you can start with almost nothing. Check there for something and start. 1 Like |
