[quote author=SNDHoldings post=55397227]Hello fellow Nairalanders,

I joined this forum because I needed an avenue to connect with my people in Nigeria and in other parts of the world as I continue to hustle here in Canada, it's working so far. I have been away for sometime now and I am at the stage where I would prefer to come back to Nigeria and reside, but first I would like to build a business there, specifically in Lagos. That being said, I would like to ask the following questions:

1. If one is to invest 3-5 million naira in small business in Lagos, what would it be?
2. Can you shed more light on the business by giving specific details?
3. If I was to go ahead and invest in the business, are you also willing to invest your own capital?
4. What's your business background, and why should I work with you?
5. Are you bondable? Don't fool yourself, I'm 100% naija man, so being transparent with me will be your only option

Thanks a lot for your input, but business idea is sound but appears to require a lot of capital and looks to be me as though it's gonna be complex, hence too risky(no offence intended). You're free to convince me with cost involvement and feasibility of the business; being that it involves international transactions.

@ SNDHoldings: Thanks for your response. As you may be aware there are various ways of mitigating risk in international transactions. For instance when you are selling your product on F.O.B Loading basis, it is the buyer that is at risk and not you. Besides this, there are good ways of further mitigating this risk through LC verbiage clauses that enables you to drawn down full payment over your own bank counter once you present the shipping documents as clearly mentioned in the LC stock verbiage. Furthermore in the absence of LC verbiage due to the time it may take for the underwriting process at the buyer`s issuance bank, we ( our proposed partnership) company can further get down-payment deposit from the buyer to your account once contract is signed. It is all about proper negotiation and talking the market language. The truth is that a lot of Nigerian companies do not know how to get this done but I tell you it is very easy; not as complex as you think. Also the capital is not as intensive as you think. The capital to export 40" FCL of a cargo depends on the product. For some, N1M is enough to fulfill a 40" FCL cargo. For some N3M is enough. For some N5M is enough. For some N7M. For some N15M and just like that. We can start with the one that can be accomplished with N1M and when you see result then others follow.
As I mentioned earlier these are not things I wish to discuss in an open forum like this. Kindly please send me your e-mail address by a text message to my mobile : +234-809-281-2289 or just send me a message to my e-mail address ( ceo@amagoldgroup.com) saying this is SDNHoldings including your mobile # and I will open full discussion to tell you how it all works including profit per each product. In fact believe me business as they say is a secret. Most businesses you will find shared on open forums are most likely not as lucrative or not really well known to the person sharing otherwise that person if he or she really knows the business would rather be doing it with their partners and JV counter parties than share with people. No business around the world enjoys competition.

Chief Ikechukwu, I truly admire and appreciate your input. Your write-up is seemingly appealing but I have a hard time understanding that it is that you're asking me to invest in. I am not looking to invest in various portfolios but rather in a concrete venture that will bring forth tremendous ROI over a long period of time. Without further ado, I beseech you to be more specific with your idea. Thanks...

I would like to send you a copy of an executive summary of one of the projects we're working on. Also, I would like you to know that our projects are all streamlined into the Technology sector. Had I mentioned it before that, we're working on a new and one of a kind Payment service which falls into the Fintech industry and our newest baby, a software that will be used in Hotels and other places that falls in the Hospitality sector. Let me leave it at that for now and expect your mail.
PS: thanks for the compliment. You should see how swollen my head is now...."Chief Ikechukwu" grin

Bro, if you want huge profit, get a land and plant cassava. After a year, you will get times three of what you spend. I have friends that have done it and making it big from it. Just an advice.

Hello, sir. Could you provide further guidance on this suggestion? How much do you think is the minimum capital one may need? Thanks.

You can start with any amount you can afford, the more you plant cassava, more profits for you. You can start from 50K upward. Like i said, the more you put in it, more profits for you.

Thanks for the feedback, although I was born and raised on the farm, hence farming would have been a feasible venture but I reside in Canada and wouldn't be available to manage and facilitate the day-to-day running of a farm. Aside from farming, any further ideas? Perhaps IT, merchandising, e-commerce etc?

The reason why i gave you farming option was because of the question you gave with good profit, less pressure and also fast in selling. But, since you know much and farming and reside in Canada, i will suggest other business you can venture into.

1. Since you are in canada, You can have a big store in Nigeria, where you can sell laptops, phones and gadgets/ fully into electronics. You will buy it at cheaper price there and sell it here. Its highly profitable.

2. With such amounts, you can start fruit juice and table water production, with good package. Nigerians consume alot daily.

3. You can also start fast food joint with just 500k/1M.

And many more.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you presently have a physical/traceable office for your cooking gas business? FYI: I'm not interested in a short term business, I am planning to return to Nigeria and reside their so investing in a venture for long long time is my ultimate goal. As for your cooking gas business, do you see yourself doing it for another 10 years or more? How's the competition? Are there safety issues in regard to the environment or residence? I have your contact but I need streamlined answers before I can contact potential candidates. Thanks...
I have a physical office in abeokuta, ogun state. You can go into the gas business in three(3) ways;
1; As a supplier. by buying a bobtail truck
2; As a wholesaler
3; retailer.
they are all profitable. i am looking at doing it till the earth is no longer existing or gas source as finished.

we can be partners in a way that we are not totally dependent on eachother. we can talk concisely anytime. the competition is ok to bear for now

Thank you all for your responses so far. I am still reconsidering some ideas, but my biggest concern is TRUST. Some ideas seem quite sound and appealing, but I am taking my time in sinking in the information as time dues since I don't reside in Nigeria. However, that you haven't personally heard from me does not imply that you should give up on pursuing your dreams. I don't know who it's going to be, but I am certain there's a partner out that I'll be doing business with in the future, just sinking in and digesting the information for now. I encourage you to keep sharing your ideas with me and fellow Nairalanders, you never know when your phone will ring for a life changing contract. I'M A FIRM BELIEVER...

Thank you.

Hi investors, we are professional intraday traders with a combined 16 years+ experience.

Our strategy is made up of a combination of manual, intraday, technical, fundamental, and price action trading which enables us to place high probability of winning trades with stop loss. Our trading strategy is FIFO complaint, no martingale, no grid, no averaging, no pyramiding, no arbitrage, no high frequency trading and no hedging. Our trading strategy is discretionary, adapts to any market changing conditions and has low capacity constraint (Ability to be applied in large volume accounts). Our core strategy which is based on economic data and geopolitical event trading has been proven for years to be profitable irrespective of any market changing conditions. We cut our losses and ride the trends. We lay emphasis on capital preservation. All open positions of currency pairs related to an upcoming major economic report/geopolitical event are closed before the release of such reports and all open positions are closed before weekend. We open only one trade per currency pair.

Our trading strategy has an edge and with increase risk we have been able to generate 60% in a day, 250-300% in a month, we have even seen our strategy produced a target of 10% returns for 8days at a stretch, but these is UNSTABLE and UNSUSTAINABLE in the long run and it leads to investors account being wipe out, when the market condition changes.

We are more focused on risk management so as to protect the investors account while striving to grow it. If any investor wants the above percentage returns in place of the preservation of his capital, he can look elsewhere, as we are looking to give our investors STABLE,CONSISTENT and LONG TERM GROWTH on his investment while using our risk and money management parameters which will help the investors account recover from any losing streak and bring the investors account back to profitability should there be any lose.

It does not mean huge percentage returns cannot be made with our current risk and money management parameters, we cannot force the market to give us profit. We take what the market gives us based on our current risk. We are striving to at least return 5%+ monthly to investors while striving to keep the account equity drawdown (Account Loss in %) under 20%. If the equity drawdown goes beyond 20%, we go back to look toward adjusting our risk management or optimizing our strategy to strengthen our entry and exit parameter to improve the strategy. At 5% monthly returns using compound interest without withdrawing funds from the account, your account will grow from #3m or #5m to #30m+ or #50m+ in 4 years time respectively.

We are currently running a simulated account in a live real time market based on our well developed and fine tuned strategy for close to 4 months now, so as to used it to get an investor to invest in it or at least verify the strategy using his real funds to prove it will work in a live account before adding more funds. We started trading the account from January this year, 2017. The account is currently at 49.9% returns, an average of more than 10%+ monthly returns with a drawdown of 28.99%. The 28.99 drawdown was not acceptable to us as we quickly move to optimize the strategy’s entry and exit to minimize the drawdown while maintaining our risk management parameters. From 1st march, we applied the changes to the account and the drawdown was reduced to 10.31%, while the returns from 1st march is 65.71% and over 34.82% monthly returns . I want to admit that after working on reducing the drawdown to 10.31% while still maintaining the strategy’s risk and money management parameter which can be seen from 1st march, we decide to once again apply some changes based on our years of experience in the forex market to increase the profitability of the strategy. This can be observed from from 17th April, and we are currently trading the account while observing the effect of the changes to the profitability of the account. The link to our performance which is verified by a trusted third party website is www. myfxbook. com/members/Ambitious/fih/2030409 (Remove the space between the link) The performance has been customize to start on 1st march. You can see how all the statistics have improved starting from 1st march, the profit factor, average win, average loss and especially the Pip Expectancy. All performance from the beginning of the account can be seen by clicking on custom analysis on the page, then clicking on the ALL link , Then clicking on Analyse. You can also view the complete performance through this trusted third party site www. fxblue. com/users/vitaledgefx1 (Remove the space between the link)

I want to state here with confidence that we are more than capable to manage any investors account using our current forex trading strategy and current risk/money management parameters without exposing the investors account to undue risk, while striving to grow the investors account to beat the returns of any market instrument out there. Please note that we strive to keep the drawdown under 20%, and we are currently in a drawdown of 10.31% after optimizing our trading strategy from 1st march. If the equity drawdown goes beyond 20%, we go back to look toward adjusting our risk management or optimizing our strategy to strengthen our entry and exit parameters to improve the strategy. As at now, any other changes will be cutting back the risk, because the trading strategy development has been finalized.

Please as an investor ,you do not give us your money nor pay an money into our account. You simply open a foreign exchange brokerage account recommended by us in your name using your National I.D. card for proof of identity and Bank Statement or utility bill for proof of address. By doing this, deposit to the account and withdrawal is being control 100% by the investor. The investor can also monitor his account from any part of the world using any internet enabled device and daily statement of account are sent to the investors email by the brokers.
