Firstly, I would say you fill in as being employed because this guy's don't like an idle mind. They believe you should always have something that you are doing which is beneficial to the society without it necessarily being your profession. Secondly, when you are posed with the question, what were you doing in the media company or where did you work and what did you do? You should know that the VO won't start opening the website of your company or making a phone call to see if the media company you worked is related to science or chemistry. You can tell him that you were in the section that publish about science in the science section of the weekly magazine. That your interest lies in communication the beauty of science to high school students, the community and the society at large. So you were part of the team that handles different scientific messages to the community. If he ask example of scientific messages. You can say mostly public awareness, like hygiene, safety, etc

Just look for a way to link it up. Your past job should kind of be in line with what you are going to do now or your past degree so it doesn't sound like you couldn't get a job with your degree instead you opted for anything that was available. This won't definitely send a good message to the VO. Try to always link want you did before, what you are doing now and what you hope to do later together. It gives a sense of direction and purpose!

Thanks, well that's what I think. I guess other gurus who are in the house can give other better opinion.

Or you could just be honest - we usually recommend that. Too many people on Nairaland think that there is some kind of secret formula or that you have to craft a story for the VOs. Then when we start asking some basic questions, the fake stories fall apart and people who might have been genuine applicants get refused.

If you want a VOs opinion, just be honest.

You need to get the SEVIS fee released so it can be applied to the other application. It is possible, but it is through another agency so you need to contact them for assistance with this.

Am happy for you now that you have another admission, i think you gonna hit this once and Bliv me twood cannot even remember you are the same guy, he was just giving is usual candid but blunt advice. Let just try to tolerate each other...... Once again best of luck and I will watching out for your successful transcript story.

Thanks for your candid advise bro
I really appreciate this , I have written a standardized test GRE to be precise where I scored a higher mark I posted it on this forum and the Twood guy was the first to ask me how I came about the score because t was very high, like he knows my ability, moreover concerning me applying 4 times I wrote the school and explained to them am having VIsA issue but they encouraged me to keep trying since it wasn't resumption time yet , don't know how to explain it anyway wish you would understand , back to basics I have gotten another admission now and was here to seek people's advice again , so that I don't make past mistake , this same Twood or Tboss was that on my mention spewing thrsh again , fact remain is not about being desperate , I just have to do what I have to do because so many oppourtunitues lies ahead immediately am done with the MBA , which I can't start to explain on this forum
Thanks for your concern anyway

Yeah, thanks. Convinced this is a way to go.
But what if the question on correlation between media and chemistry now come up? How would you advise that be treated? barring that Media just came as a sidewalk to get busy.

You're the only one that can answer this question sincerely. Why did you work in media and wanted to study chemistry now? I know both are not related but you know why you didn't choose to study mass comm but chemistry or why you didn't work as a chemist but in media company prior to applying to school.

INA Section 214(b). You can try, as obtaining a visa in your case is not impossible. However the fact that you already have an immigrant petition filed for you makes your chances almost slim to none.

Not quite @bolded. Having a pending immigrant petition shows immigration intent, which is generally not a good thing for someone trying to show some kind of home tie. But for a credible student, there is still a good chance. Credible in the sense of how the applicant is able to present his case along with application to the VO.

There is no way around it. If schools require a prerequisite, then you must take them. A physician assistant is almost treated as a doctor in some cases (and paid very well!) so yes, you can't avoid the added work.

If you are told to take these prerequisite before applying. How do you intend to do it if you are based in Nigeria.. ?

Are you already in the USA ? ..

No way round it like others have told you. Depending on how many of your prereqs are more than 5 yrs old, minimum time would be 1.5 yrs. Get them done in a 4-yr university and don't do online courses to save yourself from rejection headache. PA schools have different requirements for non academic prereq and where you obtained your BS. Also, most schools want you to be a citizen or U.S resident before you can apply.

Form A takes forever to be processed and most still end up using BM to offset tuition

Why should he use black market rate when the form A rate is what is required to pay tuition?
