Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 5:17pm On Apr 12, 2017 |
ladylco:The trick to skyscanner is, when you see a cheap flight, go direct to the airline's website and compare/check. Skyscanner is a comparative app sort of. But these flights you are calling cheap, have you converted them or you are a rich kid and the flights seem cheap to you ? |

ladylco:Skyscanner is not cheap oooo especially considering flight from Africa... check travelstart and wakanow and mind you based on exchange rate skyscanner will take you to the airline site. 1 Like |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by TWoods(m): 10:54pm On Apr 12, 2017 |
yinkslinks: The situation for students is different. You NEED your US transcript to renew your f1 visa. Also if you note, LagosNIV made an important point - they do not bother with documents from Nigerians because they can be easily faked. A transcript from a Canadian school is expected to be genuine (especially since the applicant applied from Canada). Don't mix the two. |

See the reason Why in an exam some folks get A quite easy while others struggle for a pass. Common sense to evaluate available data is lacking. Transcripts have been shared here from cyprus, dubai, canada, some other countries and of course Nigeria. We see a difference in interview pattern. Most times they are even informal. I remember one poster that was asked to speak the local dialect when he said he was married to a lady from the interviewer's country. Very informal approach but real long interview. How one can fail to deduce that the requirements vary per location beats me. How one can compare a canadian interview with a Nigerian interview stumps me. Odi egwu o! Please for those that want to carry, please use thaat metal box for wrapper to carry your documents to the embassy... 4 Likes |

Lol, smh. In this life nothing is too small to know, and nothing is too big to attempt. Whenever i see some peoples posts i understand why NOVICE is in dictionary. If you don't agree with their opinions the direct/indirect insult start raining. Just imagine the way they screwed up a Visa Officer that has been very helpful on this platform, the way they did to LadyGuinivere e.t.c. Visa Officer simply means Conference Invitation is not a requirement. Because Mr. A applicant was asked to show his/her conference invitation does not mean Mr.B will be asked the same. Is that simple to understand? 1 Like |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by VisaOfficer: 10:42am On Apr 13, 2017 |
justwise: Well, that explains why he was so emphatic about needing documents. As stated earlier, we as VO's do not look at documents because it is so easy to get fraudulent ones. I suspect he was pushing his document business so that he can sell them to unsuspecting applicants. To reiterate: we do not need any invitation letters, bank statements, or any other documentation. If you are a returning student, transcripts are nice and if you are going for medical care, we might review your correspondence with the clinic in the U.S. Old passports are always welcome. But none of that is required, per se. If we really want to see something, we will put your application on hold and ask you to send it to us for review. You can choose to believe two actual visa officers who, together, have done more than 60,000 interviews, or you can believe a tout. Up to you. Regards, VO 20 Likes 3 Shares |

VisaOfficer: Bull's eye! I remember my 2010 interview and the panic mode I entered when I noticed I forgot my IV and my host's US passport data page copy under my pillow at my cousin's in Ojodu, we had just survived the Lagos morning traffic to enter the Island, his driver dropped me off at Walter Carrington having first dropped him off at work. I put a call through to him to send his driver back immediately with less than 20 minutes to my interview time, and was convinced of the impossibility of making that trip in time after we talked. A few minutes later, in that state of "what to do next", my US host called to check in on me and another worry of mine, I remember him laughing at me and saying I should go in for my interview irrespective of whatever document that wasn't with me, that that was no big deal, that if needed they will give me the opportunity to provide same in a few days from the interview date, it sounded not making sense to me though cos I felt he wasn't being fair to me by not providing me his bank statement, payslips and utility bills for according to him "his privacy sake" (he never pretended about it, but these he promised to DHL to me if push comes to shove and they asked me to provide them at the embassy). But then, I heeded his advise and went in for my interview, and the rest they say is history today, I was wrong about those my assumptions.... By God's grace, I will be putting in for my 3rd Dropbox US B1/B2 Visa renewal soon. 3 Likes |
