I don't know what city you live in. You see some of those Tour buses, they are loaded with Chinese investors from China scouting for real estate investments in USA. It gets them easy permanent residency too if they invest more than $500k. Sometimes if you listen to the news closely enough, you will hear Americans struggling with downpayments bitching that Chinese investors are outbidding them in real estates deals.

China is very rich not just to an extent. A country that extends credit facilities to US cannot be said to be rich to an extent. Once last year, they passed US as the biggest economy in the world per GDP.

I really think those questions are very important in addition to yours. It may not determine the success of a relationship but it helps with the surprises. At least, women who care will wake up one day to realise that their better half is an illegal immigrant or has illegal/no means of income. It is important for that woman to-do her due diligence by asking questions and carrying out her investigation.
