ConqueredWest:So that is praise to you.? You have no sense. I have not seen the data to back the Emir s claim One thing I know from personal experience is that Hausa speaking people are very good mechanics for trucks and many of those I know can't even speak English go to Kara in Sagamu and see for yourself When it comes to fabrication of local machines s I know Oyo is good at that. People should not be fooled by such flattery,we heard the same thing about lawyers and judges in the 70s and 80s and for more than 30 years there was no Chief Justice from the South. So when the Emir says this let us ask what he is saying is it Tailors Plumbers Bricklayers Vulcanuzers Painters Mechanics Or what exactly. Such so called praise would appeal to the egotistic nature of Eboes I see it completely different Eboes are like women they like to be flattered because deep down they are insecure. Having worked closely with Hausa mechanics I can only read the Emir as wishing for a more dominant position. I think we all should be claiming inferior if that means we get more through federal character. The main difference I would agree to is that women tend not to learn trades but in the South even with that there is still room for improvement. Are we to believe there are no electricians, painters, bricklayers and so on. Only a pompous fool will believe such nonsense just like people believed there were no lawyers in the north 11 Likes 1 Share |

aribisala0: Abeg help me drum am into his ears. The fact remains that trading is their preferred vocation, and that includes even their educated class -- the vast majority of their youth, no matter how educated, still end up setting up a shop where he imports something to trade/buy and sell, and when this fails na to try their luck with drug-trafficking. Even at the popular Ladipo spare parts market, they majorly trade in spare parts, while the Yorubas constitute the bulk of the mechanics, rewire specialists, a/c technicians and the likes. But you will never hear them acknowledge this much. They think everyone must become a trader in order to be considered 'industrious/hardworking'. #Fact. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

The next census will ethnicity into consideration. I hope your lot will not start blabbing that it is against national unity. The fact remains that outside their region yoruba are office workers ,herbalists and tailors. So how many can you count. It doesn't require much efforts. Support the next census. 1 Like |

Maduawuchukwu:bro! U really need to understand words in the context in which they are used. Yoruba and Igbo are great nations no doubt, but the O.P was cunningly trying to elevate one and indirectly insult the other by infusing words into the emir's statement. Hope you get the drift 4 Likes |

its so disheartening the way issues are viewed through tribal lenses on nl.its a known fact that when it comes to running businesses in naija, the ibos come first and the emir was admonishing his people to try be as versatile as the ibos.before the civil war,the ibos were d the richest in nigeria.eg,ojukwu's father 2 Likes |

The O.P added to SLS's words in order to score a cheap point and you are here arguing balderdash! aribisala0: Lol. First of all that statistics is a big lie. Secondly, the reason why Most manufacturing coys are there is because Lagos is the Nigerian commercial and not a typical Yoruba city like Oshogbo. The Nigerian government maintains the only fully functioning seaport there and that is one of the key reasons for the industrial density there. You and I know that the companies in that Axis are owned by all members of Nigerian tribes tribes not Yoruba alone. Was it not the former military Governor of the western region who wrote a letter to Tinubu before he died complaining that even the industrial complex in the Lagos-Ogun axis is now dominated by people from other tribes? Yoruba are a great people but if you want to go tribalistic stop claiming the achievements of other people of Nigeria as your own merely because their establishments are located in Lagos which is Nigeria's commercial capital and which was developed by all Nigerians. Thank you. 2 Likes |

Ngokafor: See why we knock you ipob clowns. Una no dey read!! "Yorubas outnumber Iborikitis in Kano and Kaduna". How you managed to convert that to the whole "North" is your business Secondly, Yorubas have been in the North for centuries. Did you hear me? CENTURIES! Especially in Nupe and Hausa land I don't know about those saying Iborikitis are the majority southern tribe in the North. File your complaints to them. All I know is that y'all don't outnumber us in Kano and Kaduna. Thirdly, the only reason why you clowns have been at the receiving end of ethnic attacks in the North is because of your fanatical approach to Christianity and politics. Na una dey always dey go piss on top Quran or do some silly chit . Even in the 60s after killing their leaders, y'all mocked them in their own land 8 Likes |

felaismyhero: He didn't plan to become the Emir of Kano, he did it under pressure when the Jonathan administration was trying to silence him for exposing the fraud. I was also disappointed because I knew it wouldn't be easy for him to relinquish the throne and go into mainstream politics. Perhaps he'll perform better sensitizing the already demoralized nothern Nigeria as he's doing right now. He wanted to lecture at a French university before the entire brouhaha, but this was the only way he could seek refuge from being victimized by PDP stalwarts. A lot of people who know nothing about Nigerian politics nor benefitted a pin from Jonathan administration will criticize based on ethnicity. Such a huge shame. 2 Likes |

aribisala0: Ikeja became Nigeria's foremost manufacturing area after the civil war when Nigeria became highly unitarized. Before then, Ikeja was In the league of manufacturing regions like Kakuri in Kaduna where I was born or Sharada in Kano. So Ikeja did not become great under the control of the political elite of the west. 3 Likes |

Maduawuchukwu: What exactly is the problem with you people? Ok you have more igbos in the entire North than any other tribe. Is that an achievement? Ok only igbos are technicians in the whole North... are you satisfied? When they say you people suffer from low self esteem, you get angry. Why do you always have something to proof about your tribe? Why should you be so insecure. Any little thing you want to prove that you are better than every other person. 1 Like |
