Looolx.

Female gender don't bear Jovia" it's a male name, and that's why it's their last name in the screen shot you provided.

By the way, those are ibo women married to, probably Edo man or tribe without SE.

Ovia could mean forsest. In my Ebonyi dialect, Ivo in particular, we use Ovia for forest, while other Igbos may use Ofia or Ohia to mean forest.
So in this context, Ovia could mean forest. However, Ika-Igbo people on this forum can give you more accurate translation, if I'm wrong.

There is nothing like Ika Eboe
Ika are Ika and
Eboe are Eboe

Some choose to place their husband or last name at the beginning.
Simply, direct me to the said link or provide with the biography of those people. It's certain that marriage is the reason behind the mixed names

Don't try to be clever here, Agbor people bear lots of Eboe names like Isioma, Ngozi and so on that is well known and no one argues that. That does not make them Eboe quite often you will find a mixture of Eboe and Edo names they choose not to be identified as Eboe or Edo but as Ika why can't you folk let them be. The moment someone bears Ngozi she must be Eboe by force. We all know about Ugbodu people who identify as Olukumi and r commonly seen bearing Ifeanyi and so on even though they speak what sounds more like Yoruba. Names just reflect the roads people have travelled not where they are from or who they are

Just herbalist, tailors and office workers. I am really tired of calling people DUMB on here already.
Anyway! Until then, I mean the next cencus, stop peddling rumours in the name of facts. Peace

By office workers I meant salary earners in general and so it covers the construction workers you mentioned. You may prefer the use of the word ARTISANS to cover all this trades you mentioned. Still your numbers are insignificant outside your zone.
Glad you support a national census that will include ethnicity in the data capture. Let's all pray against all manipulations.

Ishiagu is a community in Ivo LGA Ebonyi. The Rivers State screenshot could be her state of residence. Ivo is made up of Ishiagu and Akaeze community all in Ebonyi State. Like said, in my dialect, Ovia literally translates to Forest. The fela on the screenshot is a bonafide nwe'evo Igbo, from Ebonyi axis.

It may not be a marriage name ,Agbor people quite commonly bear such names of Eboe origin and sometimes Edo names reflecting the influence of both yet they identify as neither.
Jim Ovia has a daughter, Isioma but that of itself does not make her Eboe he could be Jim chukwu for all I care that will not make him Eboe if he says he is not just like Sunday Oliseh. Names do not tell you much
Especially in Delta state. Many Ugbodu people bear Eboe names but they are more Yoruba than Eboe

That FB page belongs to Uchenna k Ovia and not Lurretta Ovia maybe it is in your culture to bear maiden name of your wives it is not in our Igbo culture to do so.Btw there are thousands of Ovias in Igboland.

Which Pat Utomi are you claiming to be non lgbo? Is it the one that formed Nzuko Ndigbo with Prof Soludo and others for the purpose of mentoring generational transfer of leadership in lgboland. He also went with Prof Soludo and others to meet Nnamdi Kanu in detention as Nzuko lgbo delegation. The event is quite recent. He also said one of his former assistant who is now a Ph.D candidate in a foreign university is coordinating the younger group.
