Congrats...you chased a dream and won!

Thanks ninered. I was actually chasing the Canadian dream last year just like pvibe007 but I got denied twice by CIC for going for a PGD in a course not related to my undergraduate degree. It was a bitter experience but I had to pick myself up again, redefine my dreams and chase the German dream. Now, I'm an enrolled TUM student, a school ranked among the top 100 in the world! To everyone out there whose dreams might have been hindered by circumstances beyond your control, sometimes redefining them might just make you share your success story.

Congrats bro. You just have 9 days to your enrolment deadline. with 2 days off cos of the public holidays and then again the weekend. you are lucky though, me I don't even have upto 5 weeks between my interview date and enrolment deadline.

Got admission letter on 17/03/2017
lectures to begin on 03/04/2017
booked for interview on 21/03/2017
Got scheduled for my interview to be 18/04/2017 ( I almost got a heart attack when I saw that was the closest available date)

My enrolment deadline is 15/05/2017

I have written my school ( Rhein-waal university) if I can a little extension, considering I got my admission letter late. they said they are legally bound by that date that they can't.

From the information I have gathered, the embassy needs atleast 4weeks between my interview and enrolment, plus another week for visa pick up, if not they would deny me visa on basis of insufficient time for visa processing. I wanted to fund this week but I decided to wait till I get to the interview and ask if I have a chance to get my visa processed within the 3weeks I have.

Yes o, my school is charging £1500 per semester which is outrageous..... But the other school that offered me admission is free but there's no job in the city

Hi guys!

If you are leaving Motherland soon, I have some tips for you:

Make sure your 23kg bags are what you can carry easily, either get 2 bags with roller or don't pack too much.

If are landing in Frankfurt you need coins to pay for trolley to push your heavy baggage, if you see anyone lying around you can use cheesy

If you did not book Flixbus from Nigeria
* There's a travel travel agency stand on exit 8 (they charged me €5 for booking)
* You can also pay the driver with cash but it must be exact fare hence split the Euro you travelling with from Nigeria or buy something; I missed a bus cos of change.

Have your Admission letter and blocked account printout handy, in my case, it was requested during Pre-boading in Dubai and at the PoE in Frankfurt.

To all the visa hopefuls the Merciful God will grant your heart desires. All the best!

Ciao cheesy

Thanks bro. very nice of you to drop these tips. wishing you all the best as you start your enrolment and studies.

please what airline did you use. How did you book them. And how much? Do you also know if they have flight to Germany every day?

Emirates! I booked on their website, from the moment you have decided your travel date, book your flight immediately; I waited for just a day and the price jumped by 55k.

Ethiopian, Air Maroc, Etihad and Turkish Airlines are other good options.

Hallo Frau!
U should have written the school for an extension asap! Then take the new extension letter with you to the interview, cos if the VO checks the date of enrollment deadline he/she might turn u down, cos normal processing time is 6-8 weeks, but when u have 5 weeks it's also better(just like in my own case). In any case u can defer the admission to winter.
Shalom!

I said I wrote to the school nah. they said NO. That they don't grant extension. Even deferring sef, them no do. That I would have to apply freshly for winter which I might or might not get.

Send a message to them and ask them for the possibility of enrolling by proxy. I think Rhinewal allows that, but it involves some steps to be taken. Confirm first, and let me know their response so that we can take it up from there. Shalom

Good day Everyone. I have been following this thread for about 3 months.I have asked questions and most if not all go unanswered. Sone things have been bothering me. I am 16 and I would like to study Electronic Engineering in TU Munich.I have done my Waec and Jamb and I am a student of the University of Benin for the above stated course(I'm in my first year).
1. What are my chances?
2. Do I need to be good in German ? Or are there available alternatives to this ?
3. How easy is it to find a sponsor or are there organisations that can do this and you pay for the services?
4.Do I need to do TOEFL , IELTS OR SAT?
Please don't be annoyed by my question because they might seem naïve to your hearing. I need answers. It has been my dream since when I was in JSS 3 to study in TU Munich but due to financial constriant I have been unable to live the dream. I work real hard to make sure I achieve distinctions in my external exams.
To those who contribute regularly to this thread I say more grease to your elbow. Thanks.

If you have been following the thread for 3mths you should know a lot BUT because you are young, curious and asked so politely then I'm going to be patient with you smiley

1. Normally one needs a minimum of 1/2 yrs study at university transcript, or HND or better still a Bsc.
Another alternative is going to Studientkollege. (Its a one year schooling you do in Germany before getting university admission.
Since you say you are in uni then your chances are Good.

2. It depends on if the school you are applying to requested it. Generally learning german is advisably but not compulsory.
3. I dont understand what you mean by "How easy is it to Finding a Sponsor?" but If you have people that are willing to sponsor you then you are good to go. There are scholarships available too
4. Not very sure here...Yes since you haven't completed your degree to prove english proficiency. Passing English in waec is irrelevant.

You said you're 16. Do you have family in Germany? I may be wrong but I'm not sure if embassy allows under 18 to study and live alone in Germany

I have a family friend, has business and connections in Germany even married to a german lady.. I am still applying for admission buh since I intend using his account to get sponsorship letter which I'll present to the embassy since I don't have the €8460 on my own ...

Is it possible to collect that sponsorship letter now and keep it as against the coming months that I'll need it for the visa B4 the man change him mind? It doesn't expire baa?

I really need enlightenment on a few things. I recently secured admission to study in Frankfurt this winter semester. My issue is with the block account. Read on the website that I have to book for an appointment for opening the account using the online portal and not by email. The next available date I can see for embassy appointment is by June. Does it mean by the time I finally open the account I ll av to book online again for the student Visa interview ?

The process seems confusing. Can someone please show me the right path abeg !!!!!

Monadikos:
Hello All, I wanted to get my visa and be sure before putting this out there. You do not have to get a travel insurance from an insurance company here in Nigeria before you get your visa. You need an insurance from an insurance provider in Germany before you can enroll, same insurance is acceptable by the embassy here in Nigeria. All you have to do is to contact which ever company you want to use over there via email and explain what you need, they will send the forms to you via email, which you fill out and send back, after a day or two they will will send an insurance confirmation to you. This confirmation is accepted by the embassy here. For payments, you can fill your blocked account details and give them a debit instruction or like me you can wait till you get to Germany before paying. I used a sponsorship letter so I do not have an account yet and payment is through direct debit, so when I get to Germany, I will open an account and give them the debit instruction. Also, it might be better to contact you school and ask if they have a preferred insurance company.

For your prepaid envelop and with complaints about DHL, i didn't really pay any attention to the one I got since it was for a local transaction but checking now I see it is Red Star Express. I dropped my passport on the 11th, my visa was issued on the 12th as written on the passport and they brought my package today around 10am, so i guess it is preferable to the 1 week wait of DHL.
