The MTN SME data is run via an official business package from MTN Nigeria.

Special structures and support have been put in place to enable the smooth running of the service/business.

It is run using an MTN line that has the ability to make calls and send text messages.

This should be a regular line and not on any of the postpaid packages.

This line can be used with any phone that also has the ability of make calls and send & receive text messages.

In other words, even the smallest "torchlight phones" can serve this function.

To start, you - the Operator has to migrate to the MTN plan that was created for this.

There are two ways to do this: either by texting or by dialing a code.

Some Facts about this Plan

On this plan, a per-second call rate of 40 kobo/sec applies for the first 60 seconds of the day and afterwards calls are charged at 11kobo/sec.

Text messages are charged at a flat rate of N 4 to all networks.

You can also enjoy free and excessive bonus airtime and data on your line.

10% value of every VTU recharge you receive on your line.

Bonus data on every VTU recharge.

Both are valid for 3 days and can also be rolled over by recharging before expiration to receive more bonuses.

Please select a number that corresponds to your preferred bundle.

Ensure beforehand that you should have up to that amount of airtime on your line for the transaction to be successful.
This will be deducted and replaced with the data.

To confirm your data purchase, please check your balance.


You will notice from the above that the smallest bundle is 10 GB at N 5, 500. This is smallest amount of bulk data that can be purchased.

It cannot be sent by dialing USSD codes.

The formats for sharing different bundles are as follows:
