It is my opinion that the Nigerian Army requires a locally built LAV for rapid deployments like these. The VBL and Otokars are an option but we need locally built units to complement our units. A militarised version of the Proforce PF2 remains of of the best options we have. MRAPs are all well and good, but vehicles like the Gaz Tigr, Iveco LMV, Humvee, Nimr and the other ugly vehicle from Israel continue to prove how important LAVs are. 1 Like

Henry240: Yeah, same with RSA... i know its hard to gather info on every military in the world. But he counts vehicles used by reserves as being in storage and completely miscounted the total number of people in reserves by a pretty big margin - the number is 22 000 active reserves.... he missed an entire divisions worth! Can anybody help with what TVC mean by a "gunboat aircraft. Activities begin to mark Airforce’s 53rd anniversary The Nigerian Air force has started activities to mark its 53rd Anniversary with a Juma’at Service at the Air force base along Airport Road in Abuja. The service was attended by high ranking Air force officers led by the chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar. The Air force Chief told journalists that the climax of activities to mark the Air force week would be the unveiling of the recently acquired Gunboat Aircraft. He believes the gunboat aircraft would make a difference in the war against the insurgency. http://www.tvcontinental.tv/2017/04/16/activities-begin-mark-airforces-53rd-anniversary/ 1 Like |
