Very often than none we hear many churches while praying against the enemies scream, "Holy Ghost...Fire!!!". My questions are these:
1. Can we ascribe what is Holy to destruction?
2. Why then do the believers sing "Holy Ghost fire, fire fall on me"?
3. Does the Holy Ghost do both the destructive work and the constructive work at the same time?
Pls I need clarification with Bible reference.

There is no Holy Ghost fire to consume enemies. When God sent tongues of fire at Pentecost, it was not to consume enemies.

Good points above, but then I thought most of the old testament rules and laws were modified in Jesus' era. Cos Holy Ghost was only released after Jesus ascended into heaven. So where in the bible, especially the new testament do we see Holy Ghost fire consume enemies? But aren't there other better ways to address the issue of enemies?? God help us!!

"My people perish for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6. In the book of Acts of the Apostles chapter 2 when the holy ghost fire came upon the followers of Christ, it was written that they all spoke in diverse tongues and preached the gospel to all present (evangelism) "with boldness and without fear". Also remember that Christ on his ascension into heaven promised the holy spirit to his disciples.

My point here is simple, it is a great aberration to believe that the Holy Ghost fire is for punishment or vengeance. During the time of Elijah, the Holy Ghost wasn't promised yet, so it is safe to say that the fire that fell from above then wasn't the "Holy Ghost fire". Holy Ghost fire is meant to bless and spiritually empower the Christian and not as is been misused today by unenlightened Christian(forgive my language) as a weapon of vengeance.

I still remember vivdly, this issue raised by the op was where my spiral into questioning religion kicked off. I remember asking myself and then a pastor this question. I was 17 years old then, whenever a prayer point for our enemies to die was raised, I silently prayed in my heart for GOD to forgive them and cause them to change. I had a sense of judgement right from when I was young, it is 6 years later now. I believe if GOD exists, it was him that made me agnostic, I absolutely have no doubt about that. I was created to reject confusion.

The answer is NO, but.... If Holy ghost fire really fired people, then we would all be dead. This is because someone, somewhere, somehow had invoked all degrees of holy ghost fire to devour you (yes you reading this) and you are not an exception too. You've asked holy ghost fire to burn your enemies. Everyone has an enemy. Everyone is an enemy to someone. So, we'd all be dead if Holy Ghost fired all the enemies in the world. (Sorry it's long.
