If your jesus died on the cross for the world to be saved, why is there still sin today? Was not the personified Son of God enough to cleanse the whole world of sin?. Why did he have to send his beloved son to die for the sins of the world?. Couldn't he just come himself, or wave his hand and make it all well. He said his spirit was willing but his flesh was weak, and what did God do? His only begotten son, according to your belief, he let him die by Cruci-Fction. So that's how God showed his love?. If christianity were true, why would evangelism even be necessary? God could just beam the knowledge of christianity directly into everyone's heads, or at very least talk to them like he talked to Paul or the prophets. Hell, instead of running off to heaven and never being seen again, the risen Jesus could just travel the world proclaiming the truth of his resurrection and performing miracles to prove it. It's not like he has anything better to do.
Why would an all powerful god need flawed, ignorant humans to communicate his message, especially when that message is the most important thing a human being could possibly know?

Are you sure humans have free will? You Christians talk a lot about certain prophesies that are destined to be fulfilled no matter what -- so that doesn't leave a heck of a lot of room for free will. Neither does all this talk I hear about God, or some angel or saint, lending a hand to save someone's home or guide someone's decisions, or help a local team win a big game.

Christianity requires you to believe that Jesus Christ was actually God on Earth (huh? Oh, he kept the God part mostly hidden--WTF?), that Jesus was bodily resurrected on Earth, that this resurrected man actually walked around (huh? what did he eat? where did he sleep? sometimes he was recognized, sometimes he wasn't--WTF?), that a bunch of other people were also resurrected (the "zombies"wink--and yet no resurrection (either Jesus or the Zombies) was recorded by any historians at the time or subsequently.
If Jesus (and a whole bunch of other people) were actually, literally, resurrected don't you think the Roman authorities/Jewish authorities would have LOST THEIR SH-T? Holy cow. Talk about a way to convert a lot of people.
Instead, we get these weird accounts of Jesus only appearing in hiding, or only to the disciples, or appearing as a vision. Frankly, the whole thing reads like something that did not really happen. Sure I suppose it is theoretically possible Jesus wanted to keep his resurrection quiet--but that makes no sense if you think about it for half a minute. Rather, the most logical conclusion is that it didn't really happen. It sounds like an urban legend (and a lot of people believe urban legends, too).

So what was the point of "dying for your sins" if you have free will to sin again?

It says Jesus died for our sins, which means he went to the cross because of our collective iniquity, but God by raising him from the dead as explicitly confirmed his messaiahship and the will of the lord would prosper in his hands.

That is a 13 billion Naira question.

Organized Religion would have made more sense if, like science, the knowledge contained therein is allowed to evolve and is upgraded as we advance.

Right now, it's like one having water in ice form and is commanded that that is the only form one must know water, and must be kept that way in that form, yet one's freewill wants to know that water in its liquid or vapor form and the processes pertaining thereto.

A beautiful question. A honest, sincere and knowledgeable christian should supply the thread starter with sufficient evidence according to the scripture. Ola and pastors in the house over to you.

The heart usually would continue to search for God until it finds Him, or is preoccupied with some other thing.

There is still sin because we are still living in a sinful body. Sin will completely stop when our bodies are changed to a glorified body.

This is why God made provision for our errors. If you fall into sin as a Christian, you are entitled to forgiveness if you ask for it and repent of it.

However, it is not a license to continue to sin. You have to make a personal decision not to allow sin to dominate you.

He died primarily to cleanse sins, to be an atonement, a kind of soap for sins. To wash away sins as it were. Washing or use of soap does not compulsorily mean that there will be no more dirt.

Why did he have to send his beloved son to die for the sins of the world?. Couldn't he just come himself, or wave his hand and make it all well.

Because He volunteered to go/come remember? You probably do not understand or realise the seriousness of sin, that is why you think it can go by waving hands. Justice demands that sin be punished, the Saviour simply came to take the place of the sinner. Animal sacrifices were not sufficient.

He said his spirit was willing but his flesh was weak, and what did God do? His only begotten son, according to your belief, he let him die by Cruci-Fction. So that's how God showed his love?.

He said the truth. Even today, our human flesh is often weak to do the demands of God, but we do not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit. It's like saying that i feel sleepy at work, but i discipline myself as it were. If Jesus did not die, there would be no hope. Thank You Jesus for your great Love.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. And we are supposed to teach our children this and perpetuate the greatest "story" (lie) ever told? NOT!

That's correct. Only an ignorant man still doubts the crucifixion of Jesus, scholars have long seen this. Read up.

I'll start by asking you similar questions. Why do we still have dirty clothes since the invention of detergent? Why do we have dirty people since there is soap in the market? Answering those questions will give you a clue to the question you asked highlighted above. cool

What is the garbage? Why is there sin if Jesus died for the sin of the world according the mythology?

In the Legend Yahweh even destroyed the earth with a flood because of sin but after the destruction humans continued to sin. Does that make any sense?

Jesus did not die to obliterate sin , he died to save Mankind from the punishment sin would bring unto it .

In the Legend Yahweh even destroyed the earth with a flood because of sin but after the destruction humans continued to sin. Does that make any sense?

Yahweh did not destroy the earth to obliterate sin , he simply judged the world . "The wages of sin is death" .
