malton:use dz approach 4 a start, call mtn customer service, tell dem u left ya fone @ home yeaterdai n its no form of security implemented, now ask dem to help u check if dia any form of value added services activated on ya fone, if d ans is no... den u need to dive deep into ya security apps, goto auto start n c apps dt av auto start checked out....list out dose apps, now go to permissions, n consult each apps listed out earlier, n deny permissions for send mms n sms 4 apps dt u dnt want to send sms by itsef anoda thin, re u even using an offical rom or vendor rom |

gidieberry:Malton, they're right. Your MI account activation feature do send SMS which costs 50/SMS. I do experience this anytime i change my activated sim. Have you activated your mobile numbers on MI account? Did you change your SIM? No matter the case, the feature is user-defined as you must accept the request to activate the SIM before it sends. |

gidieberry: Thanks, boss. I think I just sorted the issue. It's the "find device" feature in mi cloud. I just deactivated it. Thanks for the assistance, boss! 2 Likes 1 Share |

gidieberry: He can also remove the mtn Sim and put in another line, maybe not mtn. We use miui too and no charges like this whatsoever. mtn might be akining u, majority of those CC rep are clueless. What so u expect sha when u have graduates with no technological knowledge as CC rep. If u put another Sim and ur money isn't deducted after rebooting, call mtn to find a solution for u or u will report to NCC |

jboixxx: Thanks, bro. I just realized this. Had to deactivate the find device feature altogether. It was the culprit. Mine charges me recurringly. They charged me #150 just this evening. |

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by jboixxx: 6:24pm On Apr 16, 2017 |
malton:.Have you deactivated the feature Grandmufti posted? I'm not sure it's the Find Device feature cuz mine has been active since the day I set up this device and the only time I did experience the 50charge was when I changed sim. There was a permission request for it to send SMS for the activation. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by malton: 6:34pm On Apr 16, 2017 |
jboixxx: Yes, I did that too. Didn't want to leave anything to chance. I wonder why mine is different. They charge me almost on a daily basis, as I for one reason or the other often either switch off my sim card, or the device itself. |

Protein0: I aint really conversant with online purchases especially foreign stores neither do i trust these online retailers from China. I prefer to just get from someone here in Naija. Better still, you could walk me through the process of buying from Aliexpress cos i've never ventured that far before. Thanks for your time sir. Cheers! |
