If 'Jesus' Woke Up On The 3rd Day, How Was It A Sacrifice? by Rosskii: 6:17pm On Apr 16, 2017 |
Please, how does a three day nap equate to a sacrifice? Is it the fact that he was unconscious for three days? Is that the sacrifice? I can equally say I am sacrificing for the world when I go to bed for the night, can't I? At least 1/3 of what Jesus sacrificed, every night. 1 Like 1 Share |

I suppose a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world would be for eternity. A situation whereby Jesus is roasting in hell fire in place of humans. Or he is still nailed to the cross for eternity for all to see. Honestly what the Christians teach is no sacrifice at all. Only three days? Mandela spent 27 years in prison and the world did not worship him. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Story story story......once upon a time in Matt 11:25 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 3 Likes 1 Share |

ifenes: Thank you very much. This is why I laugh when i hear people say that Jesus gave his life for our sins. Which life did he give? The same one that he died, and then on the 3rd day, he rose up on his own and walked out of the place? So what's the sacrifice? It makes no sense. |

luvmijeje: In other words, you refuse to use your brain and ask questions. Typical of the brainwashed. If the English had come with a book claiming that a donkey named Makanaky was the ''Only True Son of God'', you would be here today, a Donkey-worshipping Makanakian, just as surely as night turns to day. |

It doesn't matter even if he gave his life for only one day. Whether u die and rise again after a billion years or for just a second, death is death. Would u be able to measure how long u have been dead or does death have a time frame?maybe u know, cos l wonder how u fathom that 3 days death is no sacrifice. The bible says we shall rise again, when we arise it may be as though we just closed our eyes for seconds, who knows? |

Rosskii: What is the meaning of sacrifice? To give up something of utmost value/importance for the benefit of another person. Forget the fact that he woke up for a second. He was killed. He gave up his life willingly. He "SACRIFICED" his life for you and he died. He wasn't asleep he was dead The fact that he woke up on the 3rd day is so the reason of him dying can be actualized. Paul says somewhere "if in this world only we have hope in Christ..then we are of all men pitiable!" That's why he had to wake up. He had to defeat death because there is hope of an afterlife to be spent with him. Once more I repeat. "He sacrificed his life..he died..he spent 3 DAYS in hell.. 1 Like |

kilo4sure:How is it a sacrifice to be unconscious for 3 days, after which you get up and carry on as usual? You only sacrificed a bit of your time - 72 hours at most. If that is a sacrifice, what will you call Mandela's 27 years in jail? |
Re: If 'Jesus' Woke Up On The 3rd Day, How Was It A Sacrifice? by kilo4sure: 8:51am On Apr 17, 2017 |
Rosskii:Why you go dey reason like this na, so if you die and wake up in the next 1 trillion years, how different would it be from one who died and woke up the next 1 hour. The problem is that you analyze death the way you analyze ordinary sleep. Think about it, there have been roughly 13.7 billion years of the universe' existence, before u were born and before u began to develop self consciousness, would it matter if only 3 days have passed before all these? Please enlighten me here. |

obinna58:Cast your bread upon the waters for after many days you shall get it again. So tell me how does your getting it again undermine the initial sacrifice? Or is there a different definition of sacrifice? Also since the bible says that Jesus took on humanity even though he was powerful, and died the death of humans( even for just one day) despite his power and the ability to just kill them all and avoid death, isn't that a sacrifice? |

kilo4sure:It is a HUGE difference. In the first case, you've lost your ur family, friends, and association with this civilisation. In the second case, you only lose those things for an hour. One is a sacrifice, the other is not. The problem is that you analyze death the way you analyze ordinary sleep.Technically there is very little difference. One is temporary sleep, and the other is permanent sleep. Trouble is, 'Jesus' did not die if he got up on the third day. Technically, he went to sleep temporarily. He didn't sacrifice his life because as soon as someone killed him, he got right back up and continued with his life. I haven't the slightest clue what you are talking about. |

Rosskii:So we do not digress much, l'll just address the main issue. Jesus sacrificed, because a person of his power being in the form of God became human, (taking the form of a slave)in doing so he emptied himself, so that like every other human he was susceptible to death and actually faced death(permanent death, 3 days death or even 1 minute death is irrelevant here). |
Re: If 'Jesus' Woke Up On The 3rd Day, How Was It A Sacrifice? by Rosskii: 5:30pm On Apr 17, 2017 |
kilo4sure:You are wrong on the "relevance" of how long he was dead for. It is highly relevant. If I have 1 million dollars, and put it in a bank, and then retrieve it after 3 days, I haven't given it away or sacrificed it. But if I gave that 1 million to a charity to help say, the disabled, as a gift, THEN you can say I sacrificed something. So what exactly did Jesus sacrifice? Whatever he gave, such as his life, he took it straight back. And stop trying to exaggerate his 'lowliness' by claiming he was a slave. He wasn't. |

Two friends were to take a bullet on the head for another friend, the first has 9 lifes and he has used 8(this is his last life). The second however dies and comes back to life after 2days(he has infinite number of life's).... Which of these two sacrificed his life?? |
Re: If 'Jesus' Woke Up On The 3rd Day, How Was It A Sacrifice? by kilo4sure: 7:42pm On Apr 17, 2017 |
Rosskii:So his becoming a human wasn't lowly? And also been subjected to that gruesome torture and death on the cross is no sacrifice?when he could have simply chosen not to? That he could get his life back doesn't undermine the sacrifice. It is sacrifice because he had the power to reject such path, but chose not to. This is why he cried about the cup passing by the night before. The fact that he saw the glory ahead didn't undermine his pain at that moment. 1 Like |

Rosskii: My Lord Jesus was beaten, bruised, ridiculed, scorned, abused, had a cross made of thorns pressed unto his head, endured the pain of being nailed to a cross hand and foot and all this done to the God by His own creation He was to save and then died and you have the audacity to compare this to going to bed at night? Can you endure even a fraction of all this done to you by someone you didn't create with the promise of being raised the next minute. Please ask for forgiveness and never ever belittle even one aspect of the suffering of Christ. Ever! |
Re: If 'Jesus' Woke Up On The 3rd Day, How Was It A Sacrifice? by Rosskii: 5:46pm On Apr 18, 2017 |
Alwaystrue:Millions of people have experienced far worse than being "scorned, ridiculed, beaten, bruised" etc. Plus you don't worship him based on the torture he supposedly endured, but because he "sacrificed his life". Trouble is, he DID NOT sacrifice his life. To sacrifice something means to give it up permanently, not give it up for a couple of days, and then snatch it back, and claim you'd sacrificed it. In effect, you christians are LYING when you claim Jesus "gave his life" for "our sins". Just accept that and move on. |
Re: If 'Jesus' Woke Up On The 3rd Day, How Was It A Sacrifice? by Alwaystrue(f): 7:05pm On Apr 18, 2017 |
Rosskii:Thanks, I worship Him because I believe in Him and this was made possible because He sacrificed His life for me. He was bruised for my iniquity, chastised for my peace and scourged for my healing...He did this all for ME and for YOU! He died so you may live! Whether you believe or accept it yet. Rosskii: Oh yes He did sacrifice His life! He DIED!!!! Your overnight sleep is not dying. Do not belittle Jesus Christ's sacrifice for you! I say it again. |
Re: If 'Jesus' Woke Up On The 3rd Day, How Was It A Sacrifice? by Rosskii: 4:47pm On Apr 21, 2017 |
Alwaystrue:Death is a state of unconsciousness just like sleep. The only difference is that one state is temporary and the other permanent. So Jesus did not die, since his unconsciousness was not permanent. He woke up on the third day, perhaps from a coma. He never died for your sins. Unless you don't understand the meaning of death. |
