well Jose Mourinho employed the same tactics albeit some changes in personnel and the game turned out exactly as I predicted.

I ve said it b4, i'll say it again. Ander Herrera is easily one of the most underrated players in our squad if not EPL sef. Just goes about his business with optimal efficiency and little appreciation and praises for his efforts.

If Zlatan takes his chances often, he can still be a sole striker. He is that type of striker that is difficult to mark out.
He knows how to create space for himself without pace, plus chances from aerial balls.

The ~3~ back thing was the only way. Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young stayed wide and their forwards became powerless because their centre midfielders actually suck when in possession.

The surprise for me was Ander Herrera playing almost as a right centre back at the start; and policing £100m John Cena wherever he went. Bravo!

And there-in lies the problem. He lacks pace. He doesn't take his chances and he misses more than he scores. These are not the requirements for a sole striker.

He is that type of striker that is difficult to mark out.

Lol. What is difficult to mark in Zlatan. Just put a strong CB with small pace in front of Zlatan and he wont see anything to play. E.g United vs Watford at OT few months back.

The decision by Mourinho to play speeding front players paid off. Chelsea defence couldn't cope with the pace of Rashford, Lingard and Young. Valencia also added occasional speed to our attack. It was only after we made our first substitution that Chelsea began to attack us confidently.

It was a typical Mourinho tactics to defend late so as to protect the lead. But it usually invite pressure, and for the first time, Manchester United coped very well.

I have always liked runners. An attack that is fast will be difficult to deal with

Looks like the title race is about to get very interesting. But Spurs are playing some tough matches. On the other hand they are playing the best football in the league. I think it's still in Chelsea's hands and Conte tends to respond very well to tough periods. But at least we have contributed to making this season finish on a high.


Top four also looking crazy. Someone was talking about we should concentrate on Europa League because it's the easiest route. But the way it looks right now we should give everything in both competitions. I watched Liverpool earlier today. If Liverpool had their attacking quartet in full I'd be saying we can't catch them. But Mane and Lallana are out for the season and Liverpool have no one to replace them. And they looked like shit today against West Brom in attack. And without attack they are dead. Their defense is rubbish. Pure rubbish. City have a bad defense but there's no way we are knocking them out of the top four. Their attack is intact and it's potent. But Liverpool have a thin squad and those injuries could prove fatal.
