even rashford is getting more game time than nacho

iheanacho market value has dropped cos of no game time

and oga Joe wants him to remain at city grin
seriously... rashfold yesterday was a thorn on the flesh of Chelsea defenders
I could not believe a 19 years old lad could wreck such defenders....

he is getting better by every game time he gets...

the English FA I believe is doing very well protecting their young lads ensuring they get game time...likewise liggard whom I know if he was a non English player...he won't have even make match day squad

because they understand the significance of getting play time and here sir goodjoe want nacho to learn drills..

are you sure you watched the game?
grin

18year old mbappe played the game meanwhile our own nacho was on the bench for 90 minutes and you don't want him to leave city?

So to you, playing 90 minutes is destroying another team.

sir goodjoe...nacho is different, he is unique in his class... he doesn't need to be moulded to suit pep philosophy... if the drilling coach thinks he lacks want he want in a striker...then let him be loaned or sold to those who want what he(nacho) has....

last season...which was his debut season... the young lad has 13 goals ...amidst his sub role and has the highest goal scored per minute ratio...

please answer this question... has any of those pep has moulded and desires achieved such feet?

pep is simply a perfectionist
he want players to play as robot... he should keep dreaming...
nacho is already a bunch of talent...an exceptional lad SS and CF rolled into one....

Before this debate hit a fever pitch, I already knew Nacho adopting a more fluid movement will make him a better player. I talked about this when people talked about Nacho going to Liverpool. I was of the opinion that Firmino will keep Nacho on the bench because of his movement.

When Nacho masters it, he will become a better player. This is not just about Guardiola.

Iwobi has done well for a young player, i don't get why u keep bringing is name up, it sounds like u are just kicking him while he is down. Also Lewandowski didn't have to sit on the bench to learn anything.

even at that iwobi is still making bench list...
but nacho many a time he is omitted which shows how he is under rated
nacho kind of player is a rare gem.

a player who could swiftly progress from under 17 to play professional age football within the space of 3 years..
it shows hardwork, talent and lot's more having been raised in Africa settings where there are no structures....
I believe the young man has so much to offer

Funny. Rashford is improving despite sitting on the bench a lot of times. Do not twist facts. As I said before, a player can improve despite playing time.

Improving happens on the training ground, not game time. Game time is to show what players have learnt.

No one denies Nacho's hard work and talent. That is why we believe absolutely he can add more fluid movements to his game and become a far better player than he is.

Its so annoying when Joe contribute on any discussion as regard Nacho, cos he speaks as if pep share his every plans with him. Just as he swear to high heaven that G.Jesus is not coming to city as a striker bt a winger. Last season when nacho was always dropping deep to win ball nd push forward to score nobody hear "fluid" from you. At the beginning of the season before G.Jesus came it was "drill", now its fluid tomorrow you come up with another. Have ever ask ursef what if nacho is not in pep plan or he's not pep type of player bt can fit very well in a mourinho or ancelleti system. Nacho won't die because of Pep drill and fluid movement.

Iwobi stayed awake late night chatting on a social media website despite having a game the next day. Xhaka had who was not to play in the coming game had to go online to tell Iwobi to go to bed. That is not hearsay that was a fact. Imagine Iwobi's attitude when there I no game time.

The young man needs to learn and I feel Wenger is not strict enough on his younger players. Iwobi can not attempt that at City.

I have no problem with that he could easily have been playing video games. He was answering questions at home not at a night club. I can think of 99 worse thing that he could have been doing.

Interesting to read that the Hoffenheim coach is just 29 years old. Looks promising. Worked a lot with youngsters as he was a junior coach for Hoffenheim.

uncle, all players can't be the same and all coaches don't want players playing same way. that firmino track back and involved in build up doesn't make him better than RVP who just hang around for the ball, infact firmino is just an average player to me Lukaku is even a better striker

First of all, Van Persie was involved in a lot of build-up plays. Remember, he also started as a creative midfielder.

Calling Firmino an average player shows you are out of touch with the debate. Do you think Klopp will send Benteke away for an average player? Firmino is also Brazil's second striker. You do not get to that level being average.

As for Lukaku, he is brilliant but there is a lot in his game that I feel needed polishing. Unfortunately, he needs to stick to his way. My point is that building happens in the late teens/early twenties.

Nacho should make the most of this opportunity.

This your question.

It is not just about knowing if a player is improving but if a player is improving. I want Nacho to improve and he can do that without regular game time. This is proven without reasonable doubt when you consider Delph, Sane and recently Rashford.

That is the point.

CR7 improved on the training ground because he worked the hardest among all footballers on the training pitch. He is always the fist on the pitch and the last to leave. I remember reading that he takes over a hundred freekicks on the training ground. Game time can not give you that.

Sane was on the bench not too long ago. Guardiola confirmed that Sane improved in training and looked a different player. That was why he started seeing game time. So, drills worked for Sane.

Iwobi targets wins over Cameroon in WCQ

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi is targeting wins against Cameroon in both legs of the encounter when the World Cup qualifiers resume in August.

Under the guidance of German tactician Gernot Rohr, Eagles are unbeaten in four matches, with wins against Tanzania, Zambia and Algeria and recently drew against Senegal in London.

Hale End Academy product Iwobi, who was involved in three of those games, has stated that the Super Eagles have to be on top of their game when they face the current African champions.

‘’We are in control in our group and with hard work on our part we should beat Cameroun in Uyo and also shock them on their ground.

‘’We just need to be resolute and determined to get the victory,’’ Iwobi was quoted as saying by Sporting Life.

An ex-England U17 international, Iwobi debuted for Nigeria in a friendly against Democratic Republic of Congo in October 2015.

Iheanacho is improving. When he gets a run, people will see the difference. As for Sane, he is better than the competition now. That is, he is better than Nolito.

Based on whole play, we can not say Iheanacho is better than Aguero or Gabriel Jesus. Nacho still needs time to reach that level. Even if he does not, which I disagree, he will become a better player and perform better if he leaves.

CONFEDERATION CUP: Rivers Utd Revives Nigeria’s Hope with Vital Win over Rayon Sports

April 17, 2017

By Femi Solaja

Rivers United Football Club partially ended Nigeria’s misery in continental club football with a 2-0 win over visiting Rayon Sports of Rwanda in the first leg play-off CAF Confederation Cup second round of 16 fixture.

A brilliant goal from Ivoirian marksman, Guy Kuemian early in the second half and Emeka Atuloma’s sweetly-struck effort just before half time to put themselves in control of the playoff tie.

The other Nigerian representative, Enugu Rangers had crashed out 24 hours earlier in a comprehensive 3-0 defeat by Zesco United of Zambia after 2-2 first leg score line in Enugu last weekend.

But yesterday, Rivers United gave the country’s football fans something to cheer with the massive win in a match played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Emeka Ogbugh should have scored in the fourth minute when he turned his marker inside out only to drag his effort inches wide from eight yards.

Six minutes later, the ‘Pride of Rivers’ enjoyed a gilt-edged opening but the chance to get an early breakthrough went up in smoke as Bolaji Sakin hit his effort straight at the Rayon Sports goalkeeper, Ndayishinye Eric.

The visitors were meanwhile looking assured in possession, menacing in the final third and were unlucky not to score on two occasions inside the opening 25 minutes.

Sunday Rotimi was the saviour for United both times and in the first instance on 12 minutes, his heroic block saved the hosts embarrassment following a poorly-executed offside trap.

The assistant coach of the team, Willie Udube, in his post match comment said though his team won but they could not execute their game plan.

“We had our game plan. The match didn’t go the way we wanted and we ended up having only two goals. We are going home now to work on the players.

“We found out that the boys from Kigali are very good. They are ball jugglers. We need to neutralise the ball juggling spirit in them.

“While football is not mathematics, we have however learnt our lessons and I strongly believe that with hardwork, we will win in Kigali,” he said.

Udube said Rivers United were under pressure during the match because of the current form and position of the team in ongoing competitions.

“I want to say that we are under pressure. We are trying to pick the pieces and put the team together and get something.

“Before now, you will come here and watch a team that is winning with confidence. But now things are different and the boys have been losing confidence.

“It is left for the technical team to put confidence in the boys by encouraging them and teach them what to do,” he added.

Festus Austin, captain of Rivers United, said they had hoped to score more goals but succeeded in scoring only two goals.

“We hope to improve because I appreciate that the fact that our opponents our good.

The second leg match comes up on April 22nd athlete imposing 300,000 capacity Amahoro stadium in Kigali. Rivers United needs to avoid three goals deficit without scoring and be assured of a place in the group stage of the African club second tier club competition.

Nacho was not regular last season bt he was at no time thrown out of the match day squad. I wonder how come you are the only one blind to the antics of Pep, that Nacho couldn't get 10mins game time even when Gabrial was injured, is he building the player confidence or killing it
