Earth2Metahuman: So South Africans that has won the prize 10 times are now 10 times more intelligent than Nigeria and kenya that has won the prize once is now at par with Nigeria. for the benefit of doubt , the author /researcher of the document knew very well about wole soyinka and the 10 Nobel laurettes in south africa before coming out with the document . and you can do well to read about the Nobel prize awards and its shortcoming before you continue in your errors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize_controversies 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Philistine: The Author of the document already is a well read and versed researched and concluded his findings based on all available information, if my stupidity amazes you then go and do your own research and come up with your findings and publish it let us see how anyone will even read your report or findings , so because of a single Nobel prize for literature won in 1986 by Wole Soyinka in recognition of his works in literature with all its conrtoversies (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize_controversies) the yorubas are now more brilliant than igbos ,tthere is nothing people will not see in Nigeria and some one in Nigeria has the temerity to force it down other people's throats when Neutral foreigners knwo other wise, as if this is not enough , wole soyinka is not even among the best writers at any time in history , his books have not sold more than 100,000 copies South Africans like Nadine Gordimer and Nelson Mandela still refer to Achebe as the best writer and father of African Literature Meanwhil Chinua achebe's book has been recognised as the first 100 Best read Books in the world and has sold more than 11 million copies , how many copies has your Nobel laurette sold , how many people even know about his writings http://www.telegraph.co.uk/books/what-to-read/100-novels-everyone-should-read/ https://www.theguardian.com/books/2003/oct/12/features.fiction 16 Likes 3 Shares |

Sunnynwa: I did o. And the truth has finally overwhelmed lies and aba made so-called research Swallow the truth my friend FYI, that article was written by Chanda Chisala before it was posted on UNZ. NewTelegraph the chitgbo website it and quickly changed the title to "Igbos most intelligent African tribe" No US study ever said Igbos are the “Most Brilliant Black African Race” https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/notes-from-atlanta/no-us-study-ever-said-igbos-are-the-most-brilliant-black-african-race/143684.html https://www.nairaland.com/3745332/no-us-study-ever-said#up http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/science-news/9755929/IQ-tests-do-not-reflect-intelligence.html 7 Likes 2 Shares |

kettykings:check out the 10 nobel laureate from south africa. 7 were whites and the remaining 3, guess who they are? Nelson madela, desmond tutu and lithuli (which is nobel peace price and not in literature.) Is this a coincidence? Among those three blacks, which one of them has not done some thing great? The slowpoke that was asking me the famous book by wole soyinka, its obvious you illiterates have no idea what it takes or means to be a nobel laureate and I'm not ready to school on that. This is why I told you people to go and sell gala or fanyogo and not delve into things that are beyond their iq. There are always controversies surrounding every great award cos people will always question why so so person got the award and not so so person. It doesn't change the fact that nobel prize is for those who have done great things and not a nobody who just wrote a couple of best sellers and thinks he is better than a nobel laureate. Seriously? 6 Likes |

Earth2Metahuman: So because a single person from ogun state won the Nobel prize which has been won by other Africans , igbos should leave their jobs in world bank, microsoft , Nasa facebook and go and sell Gala anyway below is the excerpts from the online encyclopaedia about the Nobel price Although the Nobel Prize in Literature has become the world's most prestigious literature prize,[4] the Swedish Academy has attracted significant criticism for its handling of the award Many authors who have won the prize have fallen into obscurity, while others rejected by the jury remain widely studied and read. The prize has "become widely seen as a political one - a peace prize in literary disguise", whose judges are prejudiced against authors with different political tastes to them The Nobel Prize in Literature is not the only literary prize for which all nationalities are eligible. Other notable international literary prizes include the Neustadt International Prize for Literature, the Franz Kafka Prize, and the Man Booker International Prize In contrast to the Nobel Prize in Literature, the Franz Kafka Prize, and the Man Booker International Prize, the Neustadt International Prize is awarded biennially. The journalist Hephzibah Anderson has noted that the Man Booker International Prize "is fast becoming the more significant award, appearing an ever more competent alternative to the Nobel".[85] The Man Booker International Prize "highlights one writer's overall contribution to fiction on the world stage"[86] and "has literary excellence as its sole focus".[86] Established in 2005, it is not yet possible to analyze its importance on potential future Nobel Prize in Literature laureates. Only Alice Munro (2009) has been awarded with both However, some winners of the Man Booker International Prize, such as Ismail Kadare (2005) and Philip Roth (2011) are considered contenders for the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Neustadt International Prize for Literature is regarded as one of the most prestigious international literary prizes, often referred to as the American equivalent to the Nobel Prize.[87][88] Like the Nobel or the Man Booker International Prize, it is awarded not for any one work, but for an entire body of work. It is frequently seen as an indicator of who may be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Gabriel García Márquez (1972 Neustadt, 1982 Nobel), Czesław Miłosz (1978 Neustadt, 1980 Nobel), Octavio Paz (1982 Neustadt, 1990 Nobel), Tomas Tranströmer (1990 Neustadt, 2011 Nobel) were first awarded the Neustadt International Prize for Literature before being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. 6 Likes 4 Shares |

[s] kettykings:[/s]long crappy story just to discredit someone you will never have in your tribe 1000 years from now. You ask yourself, over 200million nigerians but only one nobel laureate from great yoruba tribe. What does that tell you? Comparing chinua and wole soyinka is like comparing wizkid and legend fela anikulapo. And like someone said, comparing chimada with wole is total blasphemy. We yorubas don't like to brag about our achievements but doesn't mean you bunch of nobody's who only thrive in drugs, frauds and fake products can come close to us or shit on our achievements. 6 Likes |

GodProtectIgbox:why would I give a fanyogo seller like yourself a decent reply when you think writing novel or children's book is what it takes to become nobel laureate? Fanyogo seller always fanyogo seller. If its by writing novels and story book, don't you think geoge RR martin (the writer of game of throne) should be 5 times winner now? In the 15 Questions and Answers about the Nobel Prize in Literature: one of the questions asked was: 'Do you look at the nominee's particular work/book or collection of works during the nominee’s lifetime?' Answer: The prize is always based on an overall assessment. It's a life's work that is rewarded, not individual books. https://www.nobelprize.org/nomination/literature/questions-peter-englund-2013.html As an elder, glancing through this thread, I can't believe some are actually attempting to rubbish A Nobel Prize winner just because the person is not from their tribe! 7 Likes |

Earth2Metahuman:there is dignity in labor and honesty business. The Fanyogo sellers you are painting as though are criminals have landed properties even in Lagos. Fanyogo selling is better than being a ritualist in Ogun,an agbero and street urchin harassing and exploiting innocent transporters and business women in Lagos and professional pen thieves secretly (armed with juju) liquidating multinational foreign companies in Lagos. 5 Likes 1 Share |
