I wish to take my 8year daughter to Disney world this summer, all efforts to reach her dad proved abortive as his numbers I know have been switched off since and he is not replying my emails or Facebook chats. I sent him messages through about the proposed trip and further asking for his consent letter, but no reply. I have been the one taking care of our daughter solely from birth till now, he saw her only a few times.
Will it pose any danger if I go ahead with the travel arrangement?
I have a well paying job with my monthly salary of over a million naira

Secondly sir/ma, I did a traditional marriage last year, so there is no marriage certificate since its tradition and we are leaving fine.
Will it pose any danger to fill the column of "married" since there is no certificate to priove that?

I am not travelling with my husband because he will be busy at that time, just my daughter and I.

A friend of mine and his family got issued a visit visa to the US, they will be staying for just three weeks, to cut cost of flight fares, he was told to send his money to his uncle in the US to buy them tickets as it would be cheaper buying their tickets from over their as compared to getting the tickets here in Nigeria.
Is that in any way possible? And if they did will that not be a point of concern or raise issues for them when they get to POE? They are holidaying in Texas.

Hello Zarerej. There are a couple issues to highlight in regards to child applicants. Children typically qualify through their parents, so in the scenario you describe, the first step is to determine your qualifications for a visa. Second, to protect parental rights and to guard against human trafficking, we typically require that both parents consent to the international travel of the child. So depending on the circumstances, we may require both parents to appear at the interview, a consent letter from one parent, or a court order showing one parents has full custody of the child.

We rarely look at marriage certificates with non-immigrant visas applications. Marriage is what you present it to be. We don't care if it's traditional or legal. Occasionally, we have applicants that present themselves as married, then appear later claiming a different spouse. And their excuse will be that the first marriage was a traditional one and therefore not "real." You can't have it both ways--the marriage is real and true or it is not a marriage.

Hi @abujaniv, I traveled to the US on an exchange visa (IVLP) in 2015. I had not applied for a US visa prior to that. In what way(s) if any, does my previous exchange visa affect how I will apply for a non-immigrant visa in the near future. Will I do the drop box application? Thanks in advance.

Hello fishaboi. The interview waiver program (IWP, known as dropbox) is only available for renewals of the same visa class that have expired within the past 12 months. Probably you had a J1 visa for the IVLP, so you would need to appear for an interview for a B1/B2 visa.

Hello borryworld. The interview appointment is made in the same way as for the parents. At least one parent will need to accompany the children.

Hello Team at US Non-immigrant visas

Im a US citizen..( with dual citizenship ) my spouse is Nigerian. He's been trying to apply for a Non immigrant B1 visa and has been denied 3 times..( once while we were in Nigeria and even now that im in the US to have the baby with my hospice records, invite etc) they still denied without any encouraging hint as to why. Could they be denying him the Visa because im a Citizen? Thats what his family members are telling him and some front door staff at the embassy.. Is there any validity to that?

The two kids are supposed to be dependants. I am thinking of creating a profile for the elder as the main applicant and add the younger as dependant. So, they can schedule the appointment together.
I don't know if this is the required process in this situation. Please, I need proper guidance.

Well done sir for the good work. Actually, my husband and I are working in different countries, but we always visit Nigeria often. In fact, we both applied for our annual leave this year to be in July, so we can enjoy our leave together.
But yesterday, my husband was telling me that, maybe we should use 2 weeks of our leave in Nigeria and the remaining 2 weeks in the US, just to enjoy the leave to the fullest.
I have applied for tourist visa once in Nigeria and was denied. I never reapplied because it was not an emergency.
My question is, should we apply for the visas separately in our countries of residence, or we apply for the visas together when we both meet in Nigeria in July. We do not have any intent to migrate to the US illegally because our jobs here are self sustaining.
NB- I am in the Middle East and he works in Asia.
