lol @shawbabe post. Haba get stuck in the air. its not that bad na. @miracle twine, I flew them last summer to London and it was ok. You actually get what you paid for. No inflight entertainment whatsoever,so jst make sure you have your tab to keep you company. As for food, its okay. You will be given the normal Naija food we are all used to and pls note they go directly to Gatwick. The landing and take off is also ok. Not as bad as I thought it will be. I can fly them again because its very cheap and they keep to time. Well, don't know if they have changed lately. This was August 2016. Hope this helps. 7 Likes 1 Share |

TWoods: How is her inquiry now termed fraud when the person is simply asking for information that you know but she doesnt know. You have accused her of fraud when she has not actually done or attempted to do the said act? Thank God for people like @Babatwi who know to enlighten without turning to judge and jury on top a case that does not even exist. Twoods continue behaving like Nigerian police: for ecample "im arresting you now and keeping you in jail for 6months because you are answering questions like someone that will likely cause trouble in NL in the near or foreseeable future". 9 Likes |

favouredmum: Lol...I don't know why, but I always advise people to stay away from Nigerian airlines when flying international...at least till we get our act together. We have a way of messing passengers up without remorse. And when you complain, they say abi you want cheap flight. 1 Like |

reniduke: Let's be frank, the only reason the "fraud" hasn't happened is because folks have a decent respect of the US system and the fact that you will likely be traced through the system and affect your chances of getting a visa in future. If this deterrent did not exist, far more here would happily abuse the system! The fact that we even think to use a system for free, that you know you have not paid into, is the problem. Spare us the sanctimonious preaching. Nothing works in your country... and it's this type of mentality that is to blame. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Good Pm my dear NairaLanders, I just heard about this forum and have read a couple of the past trends. I am quite excited about getting your response on my issue. Hubby and I just got our B1/B2 visa and we also intend to birth our baby in the US. Although our intent for the application was Vacation as we just got married. I am 16wks gone and have heard so many stories of pregnant women being bounced at the point of entry.(Please how do I go about this.) I have also been advised to write the embassy of my additional plans or go through New york . My fellow members pleas what would be the best strategy to adopt. Thanks as u reply.. Pepe 4 Real |

Justwise what happened to my post...I was just asking a simple question |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by anonymousmum: 8:32pm On Apr 18, 2017 |
Pepe27: Welcome to the thread. You have heard right. The women that are typically bounced are the women that said one thing at the embassy e.g. vacation and get to the point of entry and say another thing e.g. childbirth. This is also knows as MISREPRESENTATION. Go for your vacation, as you told the visa officer, come back, and then go for your childbirth. 4 Likes |

Hello house, pls I'm in a fix now and I need some clarification. my hubby and I got a visa for vacation in February, we really wanted to go for vacation then but due to the dollar scarcity, we shifted it. mid March, I was confirmed pregnant. mind u, I wasn't asked if I was pregnant during our interview and neither did I know I was pregnant den. now, I'm 3 months gone. The issue now is my hubby and I planned going for the vacation next month (may) den I can go for childbirth later but I was told today at my office that I can't take my annual and maternity leave together in a year. So now, I don't know what to do. can I go for childbirth later with a letter of intent since I wasn't asked if pregnant then? what are the options available for me now as I'm really confused. gurus in the house, over to u. |

Do what you feel you can defend. I also got my visa for vacation but used it for childbirth without going for the vacation. I did not send any letter of intent change and I was lucky I entered without so much issues. That was during Obama's time though. My advice is this Send the letter even though you will get the generic response. Try and get a doctor get ur burden of proof and have enough cash while going. Choose a friendly POE. You can try ur luck but keep an open mind. 1 Like |

Terminalia: So how did your office know you're pregnant? You told HR? Which kain stupid rule is that? So if you take the annual leave, they'll chain you in the office to have your baby there? Except you went telling people your U.S plans in the office. Anyway you're better take casual leave, go for vacation. Come back and plan your birthing trip. 3 Likes |

Pepe27: You should not be formulating strategies to beat US immigration. Kindly have your baby in Nigeria then go for a vacation whenever you want. Next time, be honest when it comes to your reasons for applying for a visa. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by TWoods(m): 3:45am On Apr 19, 2017 |
Terminalia: Let me get this math right... You got a visa in february... give or take 4 weeks lead time to apply for the visa, you would have applied around January of this year. You could not go for a vacation in february because of dollar scarcity... hence you shifted your "vacation", which was the basis for your visa. Mid march, you were confirmed pregnant. As at April 18, you are 3 months pregnant... which means you took in around January ending or at worst, early february. Considering pregnancies do not happen by accident, you were actively trying to have a baby at the same time you applied for a visa for a "vacation", which you mysteriously could not take in February. Now you would like to have your baby in the US - which, give or take, would be in 6 months time. How certain are you that dollar scarcity (the very reason you could not take your "vacation" in february) would be over in 6 months? Now that birthing will cost you at least 3x what it would have cost to have a "vacation" in february... why do you think you'll have the dollars for birthing in 6 months that you could not raise for a "vacation"? Yes, you were not asked if you were pregnant at your visa interview... but a VO is not obligated to ask you. the burden is entirely on the visa applicant to be truthful at all times. Well, don't be confused my dear... here is what you should do. You'll be a good christian, be entirely honest with yourself and have your baby in Nigeria. By that time, dollar would be less scarce, you'd still be able to go for a "vacation" (as you originally planned)... and best of all, you won't end up at the POE and be viewed as a fraud who deliberately committed misrepresentation for the express purpose of obtaining a visa by less than honest means. This way, you won't need a letter of intent (which is basically a useless piece of paper by the way) and you won't need to be here claiming to be "confused" and looking for strategies. There... problem solved! you'll thank me next time... 8 Likes |

İ love this thread all all the sweet heart in here, am 27 weeks pregnant and i really want to birth in the usa, but i and my Dh were denied visa twice in 2015, with that am really scared to try again, and another thing is i have a 10months son, i won't want him to be denied a visa at his tender age, really confused. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by favouredmum: 8:25am On Apr 19, 2017 |
Terminalia: Hi dear, The CBP officers really frowns at any form of misrepresentation as the onus lies on you to be honest during ur interview. However if you knew you were pregnant during your interview, you should have mentioned it to them as they always say " birthing in the U.S is not a crime but frowned at when ones true intention is not disclosed". A friend of mine renewed her visa via drop box a month to her travel date and came in through Chicago. In her application, she stated she was going for a 3 weeks vacation and shows up a month later heavily pregnant with a return ticket showing she will be in the U.S for 3 months. She was really harassed (this could have been avoided if she was honest from the beginning) and was eventually stamped in for 3 weeks only. I believe the reason she was not sent back was because she was with her son who she had in the U.S earlier and had paid her bills. Long and short she overstayed the 3 weeks and I really don't know what will happen upon renewal dou she got a lawyer to help file for an extension of her stay. My advise to you is this, so you are not caught up in all this mess is to ensure you use the visa for the purpose you got the visa which is vacation. I know some organizations (like mine) wont give you annual leave and maternity leave in the same financial year. You can consider taking some time off work without pay. That wont hurt if you really want to have your baby in the U.S and wont like to have any issues upon renewal. Anyways, this is my own opinion on this issue. 11 Likes |

Terminalia: I suggest you still go on the vacation as planned, you can also use that time to personally research/scout for a suitable Dr, hospital and accomodation. You may not use all your annual leave at once, just take like max of two weeks for the vacation. Then you can take a maternity leave later and travel to give birth. When its time for the maternity leave, your HR would probably take out the time you've spent for the annual leave already and you can make that up by taking time off without pay. Just my suggestion.. 7 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by davsquared: 11:02am On Apr 19, 2017 |
@Terminalia, I second Shawlar's suggestion. It may b better u go for ur vacation as planned. When d time for maternity leave comes, ur HR will deduct d period spent from ur maternity entitlement. Den u can add some days off work without pay to make up. Happens like dat in several organisations. |

Terminalia: Your best bet will be to go for 2 weeks ( i know you can't take annual and mat same year) but really if you really want this take 2 weeks now and let them deduct it from your maternity leave(at least at the end of the day you will have your American baby). You just have to live by the moment and take a step a time. When the time for maternity comes it will surely sort itself out. #my2cents 2 Likes |

favouredmum: @Favouredmum....you are so right...this happened to me too upon renewal via dropbox in 2014 husby was given, i was called in for an interview and questioned why i said i was going for 3weeks and stayed 4 months (1st son) and 3 months(2nd son) had them back to back with my 1st US visa(smiles). i was refused visa instantly, tried again 6 months after first refusal, same old story - refusal.... DH didn't use his renewed 2 years visa and we both decided to apply again just some few weeks back, obviously it had to be an interview appointment as I have been refused before, went in with DH and got our visa. Interview didn't last 3 mins. Honesty should always be our watch word! learnt the hard way though....Because my refusal from America affected my student application to Canada. ( it was linked, i called for my file and saw details of my refusal and it was surely linked). Hope this helps anybody out there.... 8 Likes |
